Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
I wouldn’t be trading him as some on other threads have suggested. We know he can play, yes he’s currently in a slump but hopefully a new coach at seasons end can bring out his best.

That’s gold Bub.

Time to go Goody?
A lot of comments along the lines of “starting to see glimpses of the new game plan / how we want to play”. If it was 2023 or even 2024 I could cop that but it’s not. He’s 12 - 18 months too late and we’ve been well and truly passed by.

Time to go Goody?
The pass mark is finals this year as a bare minimum.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
It’s not just the losses we had but how we lost. Yes Langford / Windsor / X look like beauties but remind me how are Collingwood’s first rd picks going? We can’t score, been a problem for years now and we’re not getting any better. Could we / should we have targeted Membrey / Wright ? I can see elements in our gameplan changing but it’s taken 18 months to long and not everyone is on board at times in terms of where to run to create space / options. Really hope we have a new coach next year.

Time to go Goody?
Macrae wasn’t when he took the reins at Collingwood, everyone starts somewhere. Let’s nab a Pies or GWS assistant or similar.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
So it’s a development year because of…. Was this season flagged as a development year before rd 1?

NON-MFC: Round 09
We are so far off the pace we are kidding ourselves. The sooner we move Goodwin on the quicker we’ll be back up there.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
This year Turner has kicked some goals from deep in pockets / difficult angles and can take contested mark. Considering we’re a team that struggles to score and has players that struggle with set shots with very little difficulty be it angle or distance I’d like to see him play fwd for the whole game.

NON-MFC: Round 09
I think Treloar was missing as well as Weightman.

NON-MFC: Round 09
If you look at Collingwood’s team last night Sounds like us in 2022/23, who are these teams that are more efficient offensively? Geelong beat them last week by 3 points, GWS pumped them in rd 1 but their form has since been the opposite of Collingwood. Adelaide can score but can’t defend and the Lions were dismantled by them two weeks ago. For me the Bulldogs are the second best team in the competition as they should be on six wins (they were undoubtedly robbed against Collingwood) and have been playing all year with key players missing. The way the play they are able at times to score consecutive goals very quickly and they also defend very well. We like a few other teams have been caught napping and are purely making up the numbers this year.

NON-MFC: Round 09
Agree, It’s comical that this is even thrown up. Collingwood and the Dogs can have key personnel out and still play exciting attacking footy but not us.
-
NON-MFC: Round 09
Regardless of personal Collingwood go into every game believing they can win whilst other teams are beaten mentally before the first bounce.

NON-MFC: Round 09
Season over for Freo, Pies resting quality players and still running rings around the opposition and here we are struggling to run out games and trying to learn a new game plan which has been around for years.

GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Play Turner up fwd. And he’s on fire.

GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Play Turner up fwd.

GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Just pay him out, it’s over.

GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs West Coast
We are a broken team. Goodwin can go, and a couple of players can join him.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Centre clearances 6 to 1 Stoppage clearances 16 to 4 Inside 50’s 26 to 13 For 3 goals 7 Same problem for 4 years in a row.

NON-MFC: Round 08
Can anyone remember what Freo gave up for Bolton?

Time to go Goody?
And here lies the argument. We’re not a top team, yet many on here think another coach would have us playing as a top team. Also I would argue that Collingwood and the Dogs play endeavour to play the same way every week regardless of personal. We love an excuse at Melbourne.

Time to go Goody?
Combine that with what was seen as a relatively easy draw.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Bulldogs started with JUH is dealing with personal issues but have moved on to any timeline around a possible return will be dictated by the AFL. This paints a reasonably clear picture as to what is going on and holds the player accountable. Oliver went from a four week hamstring to a seven week hamstring to a hospital jailbreak. So yes Oliver and the MFC may have copped more attention but they brought it on themselves. The Bulldogs haven’t let the off field drama affect their on field performance, if anything they’ve done the opposite. They were robbed by the umpires and should have beaten Collingwood, they should be fifth not eighth. Starting this season Melbourne had Picket, Windsor and McVee out, the Dogs were missing Bont, Treloar, Weightman & JUH. I missed the Anzac Eve game but many posters commented on how when Gawn was subbed out the performance of many others suddenly dropped.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Look at how the Dogs have played all season, combine that we’ve who’s been missing. Had Bont, Treloar, Weightman and JUH out for numerous weeks to start the season, Bont is back but Darcy is out. Last season we as a club were affected badly by the Oliver media coverage, to be fair the Dogs are copping just as much if not more over JUH and are handling it on and off the field like professionals.
