The only "name player" that I can think of in recent times who held off from signing all year before putting pen to paper was Cloke. The only "name player" that I can think of in recent times who had the balls to say I'm off at years end was Phil Davis and subsequently dropped for the rest of the year. We have had VB, Angus and Petracca (possibly others I can't recall) all extend their contracts. We've heard nothing with regards to the Toump.

Last year Roos played Chip forward. This was done to prepare the defence for "life after". Dunn had a stellar first half of the season before dropping off then steadying somewhat. TMac having a similar year. Also with Hogan out we needed to try and compete to some extent. This year if Pedo and Frost weren't injured Roos could entertain the idea of dropping Howe. Howe is a seasoned player, clubs aren't stupid, they know what he brings to the table. If anything playing Toumpas is lowering his trade value.

Not playing and no contract.

The 22 named are what Roos/Goodwin consider to be the best 22 available. No more mass changes, the young players have to stick it out and learn what's required together. There's enough senior players out there. I would of liked to of seen either Newton/Michie given another chance. The whole Dawes/Howe thing has been done to death.

Quality possessions? Or sideways/backwards short chip kicks? He's not known for elite disposal. Papers officially stamped.

I wouldn't use the word excited but I would like to see them given another opportunity. Grimes and Dawes have been given theirs for every reason other than their football ability. Things like leadership/play their role/ not developed properly/great public speakers are continually thrown up as to why they are getting a game or should get one. Howe is apparently playing to keep us his trade price, rival clubs know what they get with Howe whether he plays another game this year of not. I personally would like to see Melbourne do something different. Go in with a fwd line looking something like Garlett Watts JKH VB Hogan Newton Mix it up a bit, we couldn't do any worse.

It says a lot doesn't it, but it says even more about those who don't make the team this week.

When I was referring to the environment I meant the club. Collingwood spend millions in their football department and have invested heavily in Cloke most recently hiring a sports psychologist. We've all seen the results. You can either kick or you can't.

I don't think there's a top 4. If Hawks do a number on Sydney, I'm aware of their earlier encounter but the Hawks are awake now, Sydney are doing enough.Hawks Daylight Free Eagles (Still to play Swans/Hawks) Swans Daylight Collingwood (a straight kicking fwd from winning their last 3) Daylight The rest. Who said anything about us as a club, it's every where you turn. Doctors, lawyers, bus drivers, construction workers, hairdressers the bloke the next door who has a 9-5 job could well be a dealer. Drugs are everywhere, the individual must choose. I'm not across the AFL drug policy but surely the revamped one will have(if not already) the right for clubs to test their own players. Couple that with basic knowledge, drugs like ice/speed/cocaine will generally last in your system 2-3 days. I'd be testing Friday and Monday mornings If I wanted to catch someone. The culture could be cleaned up easily. The AFL also needs to grow some balls. Clean slate and 1 strike and your out.

The "drug culture" is out there, everywhere,it's up to the individual....
