The bloke that part owns Dan also has a small percentage in a horse called Santos trained by the Waterhouse/Bott stable. It's getting ready for the Autumn carnival and could be one to follow. It's shown ability in his two starts but did suffer a leg injury in his second start. All is well with the horse now and it's $51 currently for the Golden Slipper. Here is Santos in a trial on the 12th of Jan. http://racing.racingnsw.com.au/FreeFields/VideoResult.aspx?MeetDate=2018Jan12&VenueCode=MjY4MTI4&RaceNumber=10&MeetingCategory=Trial&VideoFileType=FullReplay

That would work IMO. Some people are not into the "Punt" so to speak and don't want to hear about it in other threads. In the post match discussion topics last season some posters were quick to tell us they backed the opposition against us, classic example was the Norf game in Tassie, someone gloated about betting on them to beat us. Most of us were pretty gutted after that loss and reading that irked people even more. Another example was our disaster in Round 23. We were $11 to miss the finals yet people reminded us what a good bet that was. I realise people can post anything related to the games but I also realise some Demonlanders don't want to read about it.

What's wrong with it Wadda?
-
Sounds good Macca. Hopefully a few more get on board. You might end up with more than one person nominating the same horse as their " Best", which kind of makes the decision of including it in the multi a bit easier. Anyway, we'll see how it plays out. Good luck at Sha Tin tomorrow.

I like the sound of that Wadda and if we do hit a big quaddie maybe we can ask the boys in charge to start a racing podcast.
-
Yes, second and third.
-
I added Mortons Fork in the last leg. Sohool worked hard early to get outside the leader and unfortunately couldn't find much. Oh well, the usual 3 legged Quaddie.
-
Lol, connections not too pleased at the moment, surely during track work they would have noticed something amiss with the horse. It took them four runs to realise the horse wasn't letting down properly. Bombed out of the Quaddie mate, I had the 3,5 and added Petrology in the 3rd leg for some value.

Some news on Dan guys. The horse has been running with a bone chip in his knee the last few runs. How that goes unnoticed is beyond me....it's been transferred out of the Carey stable and taken to Kyneton to be trained by Dean Krongold. He will be out for a while and there's a chance we have seen the last of him. He gave Demonland one or two good runs in the short time he was a part.

Don't stress Wadda, I put your Quaddie on....

Tricky indeed, small field, add the Valley factor and quite often a speed horse will take some catching in a sprint race. In saying that, I still felt Brave Smash was the top choice. Lol, I much preferred the appraisal from Weir on Big Dukes' failure in the Mooney Valley Cup back in the spring. When asked on radio a day or so about the poor showing, he simply replied " the horse went sh*thouse." No sugar coating that time. I think we could have some fun throwing our " Best Bets" together, especially with the Autumn Carnival just around the corner.

I like the idea Macca. I'd be more than happy to participate and I'm interested to see what a few more think. My pick of the weekend was Brave Smash in the Group 2 at the Valley tonight, it wasn't very brave though.

Cheers for the video Macca, loved every bit of it. 'Enable' is one serious filly, maybe they can bring her here so "Fun Time Frankie" can have some success in Oz. A clash with 'Winx', " I'd like to see that!"
-
Thanks Wadda, I'll take that quaddie. I will include the 7 ( Diapason) in race 6 and 6 (Petrology) in race 8. Like you stated, Petrology is hard to catch but it runs on more often than not and does place at long odds. Doesn't get beaten by a long margin usually even when it misses the place.
-
Appreciate the effort you put in Macca to keep us up to date with the thoroughbreds. With a hot weekend coming up it's a good time to spend indoors and enjoy the racing. Wow, 1600m down a straight and the winner still wanted to run off the track when it got the wobbles.
-
Hi Wadda. You might as well have a go on Ace High at those odds and if it wins you become the legend for backing the horse that beats Winx. I was on Foxplay last September when Winx ran it down in the last 10 metres and beat it by a whisker, I thought I was a clever little puppy for picking the horse that almost beat her. If you were to bet on Ace High now and for whatever reason it doesn't run you should be able to get a refund, as the Tab odds aren't displayed as All In for the Apollo and Chipping Norton.

Preseason Training Week commencing - 22/01/18
Dee Zephyr replied to Vineytime's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for all the reports and pics. How is Wagner tracking along this summer? I'd imagine it would be hard to get a spot in our back 6 this season. -
Not so much as in pumped, more eager to see some football as the season nears. If the AFL want to dish this version first up, so be it, could be a fun night out.
-
Yes! We're only two games away from a grand final.

Someone might have to remind me if any noise was made when Heritier retired leaving us one short. Ex-Cat says AFL needs new system for replacing injured or retired players http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-01-24/its-time-for-topups-says-geelong-legend -
Sometimes it has to be about the supporters. There are a lot of QLD and nationwide passionate Demons that might not even get a chance to see the team live at all throughout a year. Last year we were receiving daily diary reports for the duration of the training camp of what players were getting up to and that included the weekend. It doesn't have to be a training session on a Saturday for supporters to attend, the club could organise a simple Meet and Greet for a couple of hours.

With only two JLT games I wouldn't expect too much in terms of experimenting either. Like you stated, I expect a strong 26 or thereabouts to get ready for the season proper. Last year in the opening JLT game we went with Spencer as starting ruck and Gawn up forward and created some headaches for the Dogs defence. I wouldn't mind seeing a similar set-up with King getting some time in the ruck.

I didn't catch what it's about, only that Sam McLure will be on shortly to talk about it. Im with you, hopefully the news are good

Did anyone hear about a press conference coming out of the club today? Im certain I heard Tim Watson say this a short time ago.
