Good stuff Dees. Leading the way. I like it. Would be great to see us become the go-to destination for aboriginal players. Jurrah is possibly the biggest wasted talent to ever depart this club. (attacking, not defensive). Would be nice if this makes it easier for indigenous players to make the transition to the big smoke, and keep them around longer. Well done Nev. You are a true asset to this club, on and off the field.

Often when a player is out of form, you read the coaches saying they just need to "work on the basics", and form will return. "The basics" are pressure acts, tackling, shepherding, and small things like knock on's etc. The thing that disappoints me about his return is not his lack of touch, but a continuation of his previous unwillingness to chase and tackle if he fails to take a mark. He is a bystander more often than not, in a full ground modern press that requires every player doing their bit. His form 2 games back doesn't bother me. His defensive effort does.

The travel/heat/fatigue factor would have been weighed up against bringing in Watts and Tyson this week. 2 x talented bodies to freshen the team up for the following weeks game, and if Viney gets his wish and makes it back also, we may be quite competitive against Port.

It's one thing that Weidemann has all over him. A natural defensive instinct. Hogan is lazy a.f as soon as the opposition has the ball. One of the worst ive seen recently. Trade him, nah.

Yep, I'm lucky My missus shouts her head off every game, and gets the shits BAD when we lose. Runs around the living room throwing high fives with every goal. She's one of the "positives" who never thinks we are out of a game. She has learned many Australian sayings, and all of her swear words from watching footy with me. When I met her, she would physically cringe whenever I spoke a swear word. Now, she is your typical bogan cussing machine, with asian accent added for laughs. Pretty remarkable for an import, who I introduced to the game a few years back. She would probably root Jesse Hogan if left alone with him. Was very concerned about his child bearing ability once I explained he had a nut removed. Thought she was going to [censored] herself with excitement when he lined up on the weekend. Clutches her Jesse Hogan membership card like its her last bowl of rice. She questions my sexual proclivity every time Oliver is near the ball. Footy has made my weekends awesome again. Never mind the media focus, my wife thinks we can take it all this year. The carry on when she got it was ridiculous.

The negatives will denounce our garbage management until the cows come home The happy clappers will pronounce the past decade was all about heading towards the here and now. It all means fark all when viewed through the Roos/Goodwin/Taylor lense. If this team has a full list available, playing our brand of footy, at 100% for an entire game, we can raise the cup THIS YEAR, not next, or the one after that. Times over the past decade, I honesty doubted I would ever think that again. Its nice to put your arms around the missus, and scream your team home more often than not. Party time 9 times this year and counting. Happy days.

If we play every game till the end like we have the past several weeks, high profile players will be climbing over each other to come to us, just like the Hawks of the past decade. Would love Lever, but must admit that every improved performance by O-Mac and Frost is turning my eyes elsewhere. We are almost at the point of using our war chest, and trading away our early draft picks for a shot at a flag. Reckon this might be the year to pull the trade trigger.

Why would anyone waste their time posting an ode to Carlton on this site? Makes no sense. Stuff carlton.

Very serious. He was Johnny on the spot for 1 of the goals, the other was not bad granted. But, he turns the ball over FAR too often, and is below par when defending an opponent side by side. he has played much better games than today. Salem cant come back quick enough for me.

Not sure why people are saying it was a krap game. I thought it was bloody fantastic considering the outs we have. Lucky Carlscum lost their rotations early Max - Where did the AA ruckman go? Invisible around the ground. Smith and Jesse. Great to see you both back, but those performances were an advertisement for a ressies game prior to return. Jetta. Goodness me. What a frigging star of a defender. No plaudits from outsiders, but geez he can play. Saved the game for us late. Melksham - yuck. What a shocker, save the late goal. Wagner - How long is Salem out for again? Turnover king. Oliver - Brownlow hands. Faster than I have ever seen. T-Mac - Just wondering if he might be playing himself out of a backline spot for good. Gutsy, hard fought win. Exciting, and not the "winning ugly" that I was hoping for. I honestly thought it was a great game of footy.

Fair enough. I maybe went a bit too hard. I would love to see Jack playing well.

A great example of the soft underbelly of our supporter group. Anyone who can't see that Jack is finished as an AFL player, should not offer comment when he is denied a game. Todays game is run/spread, Zone/defend your area, then run run run when you have the ball. Jack has great hands, a good football brain, but nothing else of value in todays game. Try to control your emotions when he is inevitably delisted at years end.

Watts can't mark over his head to save himself. In fact he decidedly average for a bloke of his size (Contested I mean), whereas T Mac is quite good offensively. I'm liking what I see of Tommy the past few weeks, and with a star like Lever in defence, we would be blessed with options at both ends of the ground. I thought our mob said only a couple of years ago that it had built a "war chest"? About bloody time we used it, as the time is right now.
-
K-Rock His voice was quivering as Watts kicked the goal. Spine tingling. Any chance of finding T-Macs goal v Meth Coast? The radio commentary kraps all over the T.V
-
Welcome back Jesse. I hope you don't get a kick in the bag!

Although this is a Jack Watts thread (and the o.p is a damn good one), I think both Hogan and his manager should be admired for the way his recently signed extension played out. No doubt there would have been some Boyd-esque offers put forward, but the deal was done with us, and and the rumours put to bed. As for Watts, he is no doubt stronger mentally than I gave him credit for. The amount of criticism he has endured may have sunk lesser men. He has improved, improved, improved while under a blow torch. He deserves recognition for the way he has emerged. Hoping the guy can celebrate his milestone game with a great performance, in a winning team.

Agree, a star CHB is worth that, under the new cba. We have many good young players we need to keep though, and others will undoubtedly come sniffing.
-
Johannisen wants $800k per season?!?!?! Good god! He is not worth anything remotely close to that.

Communicate with terrorists? A .223 speaks all languages. Surely you mean muslims?
-
Islam is a threat to the western world. Completely incompatible with our way of life. The appeasers throw the old "dont tar them with the same brush". This only serves to give the bad ones cover. It is far from simply terrorism related. Female genital mutilation Physical violence to women PAEDOPHILIA These are mainstream muslim beliefs. Do you agree with them also?

The Swedes think like you do. http://speisa.com/modules/articles/index.php/item.454/sweden-to-become-a-third-world-country-by-2030-according-to-un.html Can't think why this might be the case. I'm sure a lefty will attempt to slide a Donald Trump potshot in there somewhere.
