MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 22

Coincidence! @ding is a mental nurse also. -
Good post. Thats my concern also. Wouldnt it be bloody wonderful to see him play a great game in a final?
-
Another of Jacks faults. He would lead the team in dropping uncontested marks. Maybe that's why his team mates often ignore him. Such a shame, as he has some wonderful abilities. One of the best kicks I have ever seen. He simply does not enjoy the physical side of the game, and that will never be good enough in a high pressure final. Can you imagine how he would fare against the manic pressure and physicality of Sydney in a final? Seems like a ripping bloke, and I still think he is mentally resilient, but I worry for his future if he cannot regain his touch of mid year.

And put both arms up when in a marking contest. And attempt to push off an opponent, and impose yourself on a contest. And use your supposed speed to make position as a link man, to use your elite foot skills. Just try, as a professional football should.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 22

Drinking early. Pisspot. -
Get your umbrella out.
-
Dont be grumpy Nash. The reason it almost never happens is the players use the leverage to almost always get to their desired club
-
Being out of contract gives leverage to get to your desired club. Threaten to go to anyone, or sit out the game, sook, spit dummy, carry on. Luke Ball?
-
People are entitled to an opinion Jumbo.

I think you will find out early next month that the coaching staff think his speed will never be found again. Simpy a massive liability in todays frantic defensive game. Will be amazed if he is kept on. One of the great shames of our past decade, was Jacks injury.

What happened to the much vaunted "War Chest" that was rumoured to be on standby? Yes, we need to pay our young talent appropriately, but if other teams with much stronger lists than us can afford to pay their guys, why can't we attract a high profile star? All talk it seems.
-
My thoughts are similar, although we have not been smashed by 100 this year. A capitulation from here would be unforgivable, with the list we have at our disposal. We have imported elite "leadership", and our own boys are growing up. The time for finals is now.
-
Ohhhh, the happy clappers will be out in force to gnaw on your bones shortly. We are definitely improving. No 2 ways about it. We have some fantastic young talent on our list. However. We have a supporter base that is far too accepting of mediocre performances, and a "culture" that seems ok with packing up and heading for the showers at the tail end of the season. We did it last year, and so many said it was youth at fault. Just wait till we are older. Another year, and we look like capitulating, just like we did last year. Sickening. But. West Coast in Perth Crows in Adelaide. Garbage sides dont do both of those in the same year. Not sure where I'm headed with this. I guess I'm confused as to where we are headed. The last 3 weeks will tell if we are a serious side, or whether there are real mental problems with our list. I think we can still make finals. Not giving up just yet.
-
And when our players ceiling is lower, it makes it even more painful. My blood boils whenever I read the excuses for players being "tired" towards the end of the season. Do the top 8 teams play less games or something? Have a bad bad feeling about Reiwoldt cutting us up next week. If we lose this one, I am betting the draft/trade threads will start clogging the boards.
-
Maybe he will be happy having his grand final every year for the Pies at the 'G' on Queens Birthday Monday?
-
Norf turn up to beat us up, and it works every time. They have a physically large side, even with so many kids, and I believe our guys are intimidated by them. Can't see any other reason to not be in with a show against them. Norf are not that good any more, but they rag doll us like we are a first year GWS.
-
It's exactly how a NSW supporter feels while watching State of Origin. Just speechless, wondering when the humiliation will end. Their supporters are merciless with their ridicule, and rightly so.
-
cbf reading the rest of the thread, but I bet you had the usual suspects climbing all over you for daring to post negative stuff about Jackie Boy. He has been bloody terrible since his return. No sign of desire for physical contact. 1 arm marks 1 arm tackles

I've been here for 15 years. There are a few AFL fans about. The first 2 I ever came across were rabid Dees fans actually. The further north I go the more I come across, but a place like Blackwater is a AFL desert now, after having it's own comp a decade plus ago. Just a procession of rugby league boneheads who think a game is only worth watching if it's "tough" and "hard" Too drunk and overweight to run far is my guess. More alcoholics per square meter than any other place in oz.
-
Imagine what Taylor and co could make of that in a ""Superdraft"" Mind boggles.
-
A coal mine in Qld. nodoby cares about GAYFL. Infuriating. Vent please. faulty is waiting.............
-
Probably a better suggestion, and closer to the mark.
-
Im lazy, but where did the 800K figure come from? If that is the missing piece that lands us a flag, it's worth every penny/draft pick.
-
Adelaide has had a terrible run since the free agency era began. Maybe worse than any other club. So many high profile players seeking trades, or simply jumping ship. It's great isn't it.
