6. Davey 5. Miller 4. McLean 3. Sylvia 2. Martin 1. Moloney I hate to pot someone in a win, but Bartram is a liability to us when he has the ball in his hands. Poor decsion making and disposal. I get that nervous feeling in my gut everytime he gets the pill in his hands.

Dunn tagged Foley in the the first game against the Tigers last year and did a pretty good job. I would prefer to see him on Delidio though, because he killed us last year and hates a hard tag. Bartram would not be able to go with Delidio, he would just take him forward and monster him.
-
If Moloney can play 22 games this year with the quality he has shown thus far, i will put him at the top of my list

For those feeling bad about our coach, team, gameplan, etc.. Go and read the readers comments on the Herald-Sun website in relation to the Tigers after the game today. It will make you feel a whole lot better about where the Demons are at, and will also give you a good laugh.

Maybe we could do a straight Sylvia for Tambling swap. Eleviate the pressure from both players of their respective draft postions and the wrath of their teams supporters. Surprisingly i feel that we would be gettig the better of the deal and not even the Tigers would go for it.

There will be a heap of focus on this game this week, with many people who don't follow either side tuningin to watch this unfold. So i am hoping for a good performance from us, with some real quality from our youg brigade to let everyone know that we will be coming soon as well.

Changes for next week against Richmond
Jerry Lundergard replied to Je Roos Salem's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am with this one. -
I think sometimes we need to think more about the reality of our team and it's lack of any superstar players. Would the likes of Clinton Young, Campbell Brown, Corey Enright, Cameron Mooney or Andrew Mackie be considered gun players if the played individually on our team, or would they just tease us with glimpses?

6. Davey 5. Bate 4. Green 3. Bruce 2. Frawley 1. Bennell Can't agree with Jaded about Bate. He is never going to be a high marking, pack busting forward, but i would guess that he leads our team in goal assists this year, has a great work rate, is reliable in frot of goals and is actually one of the few players on our list that can cause a spill of the ball from a tackle. I am not sure how effective Martin was, as i there was not much need to to direct the ball to him when you had Tredrea 10 meteres in the clear on leads, or resting ruckman down there monstering us.

Actually the one the umps did cost us was the Bombers game. Still the worst i have seen us screwed by umpires in a game. I have tried to erase that Geelong game from my memory, so i'll pretend i can't remember if the umps cost us that game or not.

There is another often injured player who rocket into contention if he can remain healthy. Brent Moloney is that man. You only have to read the articles on him on the MFC website last week to realise what the club means to him. He is at a good age to takeover, he is already in the leadership group and has initiated the likes of the boxing camps and history of the MFC packs for the young players on our list. All he needs now is to produce 20 more games this season of similar ilk to his first 2 this year, especially his first game.

I agree with you pitmaster. For some reason, Bate seems to have become a bit of a whipping boy on Demonland of late. He was pretty good yesterday in what was only his 50th game, and some of his best games his played for us have been very good.

Sorry, but this is the worst post game thread this week. We need players to fly the flag and show a bit of passion. Or would you prefer to see a team full of Cam Bruce type players running around for us? YM would love that!

Match Preview - Round 2 Collingwood v Melbourne by DaVe86
Jerry Lundergard replied to DaVe86's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd have to agree that i think Garland could definitely do a job on Anthony. He has great closing speed and ability to spoil from behind when JA makes those strong, quick leads. -
Positive as always H.

It's fantastic to have some positive vibes surrounding our club at the moment, and hopefully this can be translated to great performances on the field as well. It is really starting to feel like the tide is starting to turn our way, and that can sometimes resonate to playing group, in the same way a fractured club can drag the team down. I had amazingly already put Hankook tyres on my van for the first time only a month before they came on board with us, so that will be a regular purchase now. And once my current internet security subscription lapses, i will be making the switch over to Kapersky. Well done to Andrew and the Board.

Someone may have taken a punt on all his potential that i have been reading about for the last 5 years. We gave up a decent pick to get a Meesen, and there have been some big spuds over time to go for high draft picks(Chris Tarrant springs to mind).
-
I was saying that about 3 years ago when we would have got more than a half eaten apple for him.
-
No surprise to me. I could never believe that he was so short for the rising star, and that people have been putting him in their Supercoach teams. Watts was never going to play much this, he's a 17 year KPP player who is still at school FFS. So idiots like that Greg Denham from The Australian, who get on the radio and tell people that Watts will play alot for us this year because we have no one else down forward to kick it too, clearly have no idea. We may indeed have nobody to kick it too, but that doesn't mean we just throw a lamb to the wolves.
-
Agreed. Especially hurt with Wona going down early.
-
Miller to me is a bit like James Hopes in the Aussie cricket team. A good honest tryer, but just there until someone better presents themselves.
-
Miller is in the team to kick goals. He had opportunities today and didn't convert, not good enough. Nor was the dropped handball on the wing which resulted in a Hawks goal. And Occo to put Sylvia in the votes today would have been like handing the Norm Smith to Stokes in last years GF.

Colin Sylvia- Complaints, Congratulations and Comments
Jerry Lundergard replied to Don24's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon i can count on my right hand the amount of influential games Sylvia has had at the MFC. -
I know it's only preseaon, but hang you head in shame... Miller Newton Sylvia Enough said.

Let's not forget about Cale Morton.
Jerry Lundergard replied to Neita3000's topic in Melbourne Demons
We need not forget about Colin Garland too. Our future Craig Bolton. We may be cloning Swans players. Goodes and Bolton....now if we could just get Brock to be our next Captain Krik.
