Yes but the G does not remain open to MFC members after the match unless they are also MCC members and even then it is only for a short time. Surely something at AAMI would be better than the current alternative of the Hilton?

Isn't there a facility at AAMI Park which we share with other codes? I thought that we shared facilities there with Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Heart, Melbourne Victory & Melbourne Rebels? Don't tell me that it does not incorporate social facilities for members of the various clubs in a brand new stadium?

Key Position Forward - who do you think we can/should get
CBDees replied to melbfc2013's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am a fan of Fitzy and at 200+cm he has huge upside to take the role of key forward/2nd ruck. I am sure that he reamins on the list because some of the coaching panel have confidence in him! -

What are you doing up so late? -
Can we swoop on guys training with other Clubs or is that simply bad etiquette?
-
Is the reason that we only have Jack Hannath training with us because we don't want to telegraph our other pick to rival clubs? I wonder who they have in mind?
-
Ian Richardson looks OK. Maybe he is just what Casey needs to smash Port Melbourne in next year's VFL Grand Final and install that winning culture that Neeld is seeking!

Good one Trish! I have sent it to my friends all over the World! -
A change of heart ? Have the odds changed for you
CBDees replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am one of the minority who has voted that we finish Final 8. The basis for that is when another supporter posted two teams on a post our AFL top 22 and our second tier (VFL)team which also looked strong. For the first time in a while (baring injuries) we finally seem to have depth and we still have two rookies to recruit. GO DEES! -

Thank you for the advice on fixing this as I was finding it very frustrating. F5 worked! -

I take your comment in including Casey in a winning culture and the culpability of MFC in denying players at Finals time. I suspect that you are right on the mark with this and also as a reason for Peter German's departure. I agree that Melbourne should have a big re-think!

We went backwards this year bigtime. People forget that we only had one win this year (Essendon) when playing against the same fifteen teams who we won four against in 2009, the year we allegedly tanked. It is even worse when you consider that one of our losses in 2009 was due to a kick after the siren (Richmond). I have a sneaking suspicion that our list has far greater depth this year, and we cannot help but win more matches (even if would be be nice in a way to be able to watch the freakish antics of both Howe and Jurrah). The AFL has been kind to us with the draw and hopefully they will come to the correct conclusion in relation to the ridiculous proposition that we tanked in the year that we had four times as many wins (discounting GWS and the Suns). Go Dees.

When you list our players as two teams (Melbourne & Casey?) then you illustrate how difficult everybody is finding this exercise. Subject to injuries, Casey should be Premiers in 2013 based on the depth of our list. I have decided to amend my list after reading some of the comments. Backline: Terlich, Frawley, Garland Half-Backline: Kent, T. Macdonald, Watts Centreline: Grimes, N. Jones, Trengrove Half-Forwardline: Howe, Dawes, Pederson Forwardline: Blease, Clark, Silvia Followers: Jamar, Toumpas, Viney Interchange: Dunn, Rodan, McKenzie Interchange: M. Jones Emergencies: D. Only problem with conditioning them at Casey is that Casey has a great recent record in the minor Premiership and then going out in straight sets when it encounters Finals pressure. Maybe this is not the culture we want them getting used to?

Guys thank you for your insightful comments! Very constructive and heart-warming!

Guys I don't think it helpful to blame my computer because the Melbourne Football Club does not update their site with either player numbers, selections or statistics. All of us are aware of whom we have drafted etc but potential members may not be and it is amazing that people can blame Telstra charges for a reason that our Club is too inept to keep their website up-to-date. If we have enough data to keep posting 'News' updates then why cannot we keep our website current?
-
I realise that there have been videos posted however I cannot seem to open them for some reason (maybe gremlins in my computer?). The point I was only trying to make is why not put what information that you have on hand in the way of statistics up straight away even if you update it daily it shouldn't be a major hassle. The Players list is consolidated and it is easier to refer to that to find Jack Grimes is No. 31 (rather than have to trawl through news items).
-
How about the MFC keeping their website up-to-date with the new draft picks and players numbers? It is five days since the draft and more since the trading period yet we have no information posted on the draft picks and only the bare minimum on the trades, let alone Grimes & Co's new numbers. Lift your game Melbourne!

Gentlemen just have trust in our football department to identify and recruit the best players available for our needs.

I think that this is the only post that is close to being on the money. The only change that might occur is the the Bulldogs will probably snare Wines!

Jones may have been a fitness freak before he arrived at the Club but you wouldn't know it. In the first year at Melbourne he seemed to have no pace and rarely tackled and I wanted the Club to get rid of him. Now he is one of our hardest and most effective players, (not due to Misson) and he is one of our best 22, notwithstanding who we recruit into the mix.
