what about the giant man-eating goannas? They can rock-climb!
-
If we don't finish better than 16th after our recent team renewal, maybe we should step back into the VFL for a few years and get some premierships under our belt?

I am with Oucher on his views however Howe and Watts are the two who will rise!

Neeld puts 2 H&A games in Darwin on the agenda
CBDees replied to Diablo Deemon's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you read the latest comments on the Club website from Nicholson and Davey, they are really lapping it up in Darwin. If we play there I think that we will actually secure a strong home ground advantage (and certainly perform much better than we ever have at Etihad). If we are going to play any (home) games away from the "G" I would rather it be somewhere which puts us at a genuine advatage over the players from other Clubs rather than Etihad where we always seem behind the eight-ball and will never have an advantage! -

I cannot help thinking that watching a game in Melbourne Darwin at the local pub with my mates is a far MORE ENJOYABLE way to spend my leisure time than traipsing down to Etihad to watch as play a minor team there in a HOME GAME! -
Glad I read this post. I have now just fished mine out of the bin to recover my 2013 membership card. The pin recognising continuous membership is nice however they could posibly save a few cents by not issuing us with a new lanyard each year in the age of recycling. After all, it is easy enough to swap the cards over.

No problem with those mentioned so far but I would like to see Watts name there.

I am happy to play two home games up there as long as we don't get forced to play a home game at Etihad Stadium! -
The East Melbourne Group encourages the offices to revert to houses. I am sure that converting a terrace into a licensed Clubhouse would go down like a lead balloon. Didn't the MFC once own/rent one there?

I still think that as the (former) MFC Footy Club, we were too meek simply letting Richmond FC use 'our' ground for its home games. Surely, as a quid pro quo they could let us erect a nice little 'Red and Blue' Clubhouse alongside their oval and also use it for training.

Yes it is a bit of a shame how that happened. The kid was genuinely upset that he did not join us after bonding over the last few weeks.

Fremantle's just grabbed Jack with pick 8 in the PSD. What now?

Pre Season Draft - 11th December, 2012

Why would we go for Cook or Duscher in preference to Josh Toy. I acknowledge his heart condition places limitations on him running out matches but by all accounts he is a pretty handy footballer. -
Why is this being posted after his delisting?

If we take Hannath, does anybody have any insider info on who our other rookie pick may take this week?
-
Does anybody know whether he was invited to train in Darwin?
-
Just as long as we don't go back to being called the 'Melbourne Fuschias'!

Don't worry about Sylvia being the goods! This year he will surprise everyone!

For a start Falls Creek is much lower than Colorado. As regards Darwin, I suppose you have all seen the photos of Day 2 posted on the club website. The boys seem to be working very hard (especially Jonesy) and they all seem in good spirits. i suspect that it will work from both a fitness and a team-building point of view particularly when they do their 38km hike though Kakadu. It should sort out the men from the boys at least and (judging from the photos) all our lads are up to the task!

I posted this over three weeks ago and let everybody defend the MFC by saying it was the fault really of Telstra and/or the AFL, however it is still not really good enough that we still don't have any of our draft picks on our list nor do we have an image of our first trade (Barry). They all have numbers and it was a while ago.

Nice point about the Tigers facilities: We let them share our mighty home ground (the MCG) decades ago when we were still the MCC Football Club. I don't know why they cannot return the favour and let us build a smashing Blue and Red club building on the opposite side of their oval? after all > Fair's Fair!

It would be funny if Carlton or Collingwood picked up Tippett before Sydney had their pick (though I suspect having Judd in Carlton's team leaves them with little cash to splash)!

Nobody seems to have Fitzy or Gawn in this equation especially when they are both substantially taller than Pederson?
