CRANBOURNE star Michael Boland has signed with VFL team Casey Scorpions. The athletic prospect was yesterday compared to emerging Fremantle ruckman Zac Clarke by Scorpions football manager Matthew Young. Boland, 22, has played a variety of positions for the Eagles including centre half-back and ruck under coach Doug Koop. "We targeted him at the end of last year and we've been watching him for a few years now and he's close to a couple of guys that play at the club," Young said. "He's tall, he's lean and our coach [Rohan Welsh] compares him to Clarke from Fremantle." From the above article I hope that Casey haven't gone out and recruited another Lucas Cook!

Probably the best source to get an idea is to listen to the interview with Misson on the Clubs phone App He sounds quite optimistic that we might see both Mitch and Trenners for Round 1. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-03-05/trengove-clark-update

Sorry guys, I think that I will leave the SuperCoach selections up to Neeld and just watch the main game, without hypotheticals.
-
A freudian slip. What were I hoping for really? Also, whilst on this thread, can anybody report from training this morning?
-
Clark, Dawes, Selwood, Howe, Byrnes, Kent/Davey, not a bad set of options looming for Round 1. Now we just need to get it out of the midfield like we did last weekend against Port but against their best 22 this time.
-
Maybe Mitch Clark (if he returns)?
-
I saw him play on the replay and also he was unlucky to miss his 6th goal (against the wind) and also participated in some goal assists. I, for one, would not be dismissing his potential in our top 22 as a forward (with Gillies down back).

The biggest surprise in our line-up at Renmark was ommitting our entire leadership team. I know that we need to get games into many of our younger players but we also need to hone our on-field leadership. IMO to not have some representation on the ground from the leadership group was a mistake as it would have been-character-building for whoever we appointed and also good for the morale of the rest of the team to have their leaders out there!

In breaking news I understand that Hawthorn have enlisted retired Green's politician Bob Brown 'to save the Franklin'!

They are all on the AFL free App

Just a shame that Sellar missed his 6th goal from 40 metres out (against the breeze). He had a few goal assists as well, including Davey's last goal. I say give him another chance up forward and let him start training with the forwards!

We would all be a lot better off without AD being paid $3M+ a year to fly first class and represent the football public at the London Olympics.
-
Well first round (and Adelaide's first pick). Just happy to see him have a good day out and playing forward.
-
The 5AA commentators gave heeps of praise to Davey and said that one of the goals he kicked was from an impossible position (local opinion).
-
One should not forget that Sellar was originally a top ten draft pick (No. 8 for Adelaide). I am pleased to see him play forward instead of back and let Gillies, Davis and Pererson help out back there if they need another tall to back up McDonald, Garland and Co.
-
For a start I would put Sellar in ahead of Gillies!
-
Pleased to see how Sellar stood up today (10 kicks, 5 handballs, 7 marks and 5 goals 1 point) but disappointed that Fitzpatrick did not feature. I suspect that he (Sellar) may emerge as the third tall instead of Pederson.
-
So lovely to see Sellar has finally delivered the goods. it vindicates Craig's judgement!
-
it will not be any of the leadership Team because none of them are playing!

I am just impressed that we have a "YOUNG" Demon supporter. I am glad to see that the Demonland supporters are nuturing her.

I cannot agree that the TV sponsors, the AFL or whoever at any stage would swap the MCG for AFL Park at Waverley. It would be a financial disaster and massively unpopular with the footy public. The AFL Grand Final would be more likely to be played interstate than it ever would transferring from the centrally-located "G" to Arctic Park. If the MCCMFC (which is where we started) played hardball in relation to our traditional home stadium (isnce 1858) then we would have all our games there in the time slots we wanted. Now we have the tail wagging the dog!

Maybe you can offer discounted parking?

I have just use my Iphone app to find TuneIn and it is easy to download and FREE. I am glad that I found it and I am sure that there will be many times during the year when I will use it (not to mention during the remainder of the NAB Cup! -
and reduce Demitriou's salary by $2.5 Million to put him on a par with the Prime Minister who is similarly talented at running down a large organisation!
