Scored 165 to Ablett 138. That's a good game but probably not good enough for BH!
-
Two recent draft picks and a rookie, two of them from the VFL and the other from the SAFL. Lucky they were all mature-age!
-
Goal to Sellar
-
You should never have taken him out!
-
Good to hear Gillies and Garland are both performing solidly. We need our backline to be unpentratable this year!
-
Correction. it was scheduled to start at 12.30 EDST
-
Now its started
-
Or Sellar if not Pedersen! I am still not decided between those two but like the idea of at least one of them up there to make it harder for the defenders.

For everybody having a go at Mike for being anti-MFC, you might be interested that he is a MFC member (unless he resigned recently). I recall going in with him on the tram to a MFC AGM and he certainly is not anti us like Caro. The problem is that he actually got most of it right and we don't like to hear it.
-
KEEP THEM OUT! (Unlike us they have not been proved "Not Guilty" of tanking and we don't want the cheats!)
-
I got a certain inner-confidence when I read the article. Of course, we have to wait until round 1 to get confirmation that his strategy gels however should Dawes and Clark both manage to get ready (and stay uninjured) then I am sure that we will have a much better win-lose ratio than we have had for quite a few years!

Training - Wednesday 13th March, 2013
CBDees replied to The Great Pretender's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why not pump up Dunn? Carlton supporters are pumping up Brock and he has only played half a decent season (last year). What is wrong with pumping up one of our own players who has similarly improved after many years of mediocrity? Maybe even Slyvia will emulate Brock this year? -
I am most comfortable with this team, however, if available, i would have Clark for Spencer and Trengove for Mackenzie.
-
Why not change the thread to RD's suggestion: Oli or Jim? Is suggest Wines for immediate impact however I have a sneaking suspicion that JT will turn out to be another Robbie Flower!
-
The thing about Sylvia is that he was picked at 3rd, (two before McClean at 5th in the same draft) yet we were all saying the same things about Brock (including too slow) yet in the last half of last year he suddenly erupted for Carlton and now is a MVP. I feel that Sylvia is capable of similarly lifting!

I am pretty convinced that we won't see Barry in the starting team, even as the sub. Your three nominated emergencies will all will be considered before him IMO. Also I think Neeld has Dawes in mind for FF and Clark for CHF.
-
Do you seriously consider that the $M-Man was a better pick one and will be a better investment (in this case for GWS) in the long run? In five years time, let me predict that Watts will be a much more highly-regarded (valuable) player than Scully and one of the elite players in the competition with a much more rounded array of skill sets than Scully. Moreover he is of the type of character that the MFC should foster in its playing group.
-
I understand that he was the best player in Clackline and his Dad now has to play so that they can field a team.
-
I think that he is well ahead of Lucas Cook. At least he is playing AFL and improving all the time. I was most impressed with his last NAB Cup efforts.
-
I didn't notice that, i only read that he only got two touches in the first half!
-
I think that you only have to read Jim Stynes book to enlighten yourself of the character of both men. It was a classic LOSE-WIN situation when Scully went after the $.
-
I like the rationale for both teams selected above but I like Dunn in the team and I suspect that Clark and Trengove will both be ready before Blease when Round 1 comes around. If he is ready though I would like him in the team. Nice however that we have difficulty in deciding who we have to omit rather than who is good enough to step up from Casey! (Also I prefer Pedersen ahead of Pederson and would like to have another look at Sellar this weekend.)
-
It is very easy for some to underestimate the value of Misson to the MFC. I think that you will find that some of these players are less underdone than you think!
-
Can anyone assist as to what media is covering the game? Are there any radio stations?
