Casey Scorpions v Box Hill Hawks @ Casey Fields
CBDees replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for the report KC! I am avidly soaking all this up from Hong Kong. I can already see a Preimiership Cup heading down to Casey Filelds! -
A great highlight reel but it also shows why Watts, Dawes and JKH, will remain integral to our forward structure now that it has been augmented by the inclusion of Hogan and Garlett!

Take a bow MFC; the recruitment of Frost was a master-stroke.

And has proven that he can play both ends! -
Not only is the MFC administration and football department looking robust and our draftees and enthusiastic young recruits positive for the Club, but, in my view, the likely massive improvement of Casey this year will also have a very positive impact. After today's conclusive win against the BH Hawks, there is no reason that the Scorps cannot go on to clinch a Premiership. Not only are the coaching staff integrated (& both on the MFC payroll) but the senior list players who are playing for Casey each week cannot help but benefit by being part of a winning culture, a trait that will translate positively to the Demons.

Maybe not officially but if you listen to his interview, he seems a cert to sign until end of 2017.

Thanks for the heads-up on Edwin's coffee (and the cleanliness of the toilets used by the rugby league rabble)!
-
And he even looked like a clean-cut kid until he tried to emulate his skipper with the tatts!
-
A good, well-balanced article. Now we all need to go out and convince at least one person each to join/re-sign for 2015!
-
That explain last year but not 2013

Thanks for the reports guys. I am in Hong Kong for the next week but look forward to an in depth appraisal of our match at Ballarat.

Angus Brayshaw signs contract extension till 2018
CBDees replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am quietly confident that we will see Petracca next. You only have to look at his reaction on Draft Night to get the feeling that these two blokes want to play in the same team! -
I agree with what you say about things moving quickly given the right support staff and I don't think that it is out of the question that we emulate Brisbane (or Port Adelaide). Whilst pick 3 for Frawley last year was adequate compensation, that fact that we went the last three years without a Priority Pick was a disgrace, considering in three years, we won 4, 2 & 4 games respectfully in the preceding year (especially when the AFL's official finding was that we had not tanked in the first of those years, merely held the game into disrepute)!
-
I like this scenario but I suspect that it involves no Essendon until next year when the AFL approves the entry of the new "Essendon"! I also expect that they will have no more right than the other 17 teams to pick up the 18 players as their suspensions come to an end. It is a shame that Chappy will be 35 when the new Club gets going! Oh I feel so very sorry for them!
-
They shouldn't be eligible to play until after this year's draft. Let them play with a reduced list!

Angus Brayshaw signs contract extension till 2018
CBDees replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have no problems at all if both Brayshaw and Petracca both sign extensions. Far from being panic stations it is a sign that the club is gaining some cred! -
Can you please explain this in Latin roots?
-
Anybody able to actually report as yet?

Rugoni also was also a handy player for Sandy after he finished with us! -

For those trying to fabricate an analogy with Magner, you might like to check the stats for the Essendon scratch team that played in the NAB Challenge. Even in that VFL standard team, he didn't exactly shine! Vanders is a class above as many posters have observed. Watch him come off the rookie list and play most games this year! -
I am also surprised that JKH has been left out of so many teams.
