  1. Headlines of (Insert Player Name Here) - "We can still make finals" make me cringe.
  2. I was loud and proud on the 50m arc with a tear in the eye as the car drove past. PS, shame to the p*ssweak guy rattling a tin at me after the game and booing me and my club. Kudos to the Dees supporter behind me (who i've never met in my life) who got stuck into the [censored]! Nice work booing Kennett when the tassie hawks pres got himself some screen time on the scoreboard though.. go sell off the poos and pees to the highest bidder already. Still, i was disappointed at the turnout as well.
  3. If you make an active decision not to go on the weekend, that's an indictment on you as a supporter of this fantastic club. I wouldn't care if we were playing against Heaven's 22, i'd still be there. I want to see a sea of Demon flags to send off a true champion.
  4. Farewell big fella. I just wish i had a copy of Round 2 2004 on hand.
  5. Yeup, i can see the years flying by now... doesn't seem that long ago they were all '79, '80 to me.. now it's '90 before you know it.
  6. Good one... the first two lines of With Arms Wide Open make me think of only one thing... the failed merger.
  7. x2, my throat is so bad that i didn't make it to work today!
  8. I love Shane Richmond's articles, they make me laugh every year.
  9. I saw the offer and was highly interested, but since there $10 going back to the club, i'm totally sold now. Bargain.
  10. I was on the Grimes bandwagon when I listened to the name being called out on the AFL draft stream. The only reason why i haven't incorporated his name into my demonland name is last year i jinxed Brock, and a few years before that i put Brad Miller into a hole. I mean, a young, hard-running leader with a great work ethic who has decent disposal and attracts the pill.. hrmm could be handy
  11. a certain social networking site he is part of mentions his leg...
  12. We have not lost a toss yet in the H&A season. Hooray.
  13. Upgraded membership this year. I don't regret it. Last week is last week. Be angry, get frustrated (i certainly did) and then get over it, and remember that in a week's time after the siren blasts and the umpire balls it up as the crowd roars, it's a whole new ball game, and enjoy it.
  14. I really didn't like the tone of the Sheedy article at all. I thought that the leadership group had decided upon the fact that Melbourne would be enforcing a curfew, and the article sounded like it was a poor decision made by the coaching staff without any consultation of the leadership group. If this is wrong, please feel free to correct me
  15. Jack Grimes to ease into the team mid-year and have 80 possessions in the final 3 rounds. Colin Sylvia to finally emerge and become consistently influential to our games, instead of in patches. Jared Rivers to have some luck with his body. A replacement #1 ruck appears from our stocks, while the other big men firm up positions as aggressive big men down back and forward. Melbourne to have a ball-tearing rip-snorting 150th and make finals.
  16. The AFL forgot about K.I.S.S. a couple of years back, and it's no wonder that people are visiting other websites for their football information. If you can't get the information quickly and easily webusers will head off to other sources. As it is, i only visit the site for live football stats and scores, and half the time i'd prefer for it to be the old text updating version!
  17. Another bright side to the game was that we didn't risk a clash between the red and blue and white and blue, so we wore white and blue with a stripe of red.
  18. Less than Collingwood please Dees.
  19. One person i'm really looking forwards to watching is Jack Grimes. I'll put him down for best first-year. Just have to get that back into shape and we're away!
  20. Clinton's work on Fox Footy most likely sold a lot of subscribers. His commentary since then has always been top notch, he always got me excited watching a game of footy on the tv while still making intelligent insights on the game, rather than resorting to just yelling. He will be missed. Far, far too young.
  21. Keep them coming, i'm really enjoying this series of posts.
  22. Quotes like this always remind me of the pressure we put on the Toiges a few years back, first bounce of the game, their midfield won the ball, and about 10 possessions later we had harassed them back to their centre half back line. I'd like to see this side of our game return in '08, hunting in packs etc.
  23. If Brock is good enough (which i believe he is), he'll deal with the tags, and then there's one less opposition midfielder for the rest of our ball-winners to worry about. If player one is tagged, then player two is free, and if all the opposition midfielders are trying to stop players, a Dee should be pushing the ball forwards more often than not.
