  1. I can't wait to watch him running around with another 2-3cm, another 10kg and bit more confidence in his abilities.
  2. I haven't seen a contract yet, so i'll wait.
  3. I've been waiting to make a comment about something that's really been peeving me, so this seems as good a forum as any short of making a second thread. I've been sitting near the cheer squad more and more this year (and considering joining, as I hate the stereotype of the non-vocal Melbourne supporter), and no offence to the people in here that more than likely are members theirselves, but the material used by our cheersquad is really poor. I'm talking banners, i'm talking pom poms, floggers you can't really go wrong with, but every time i get to a game involving some other scummy club, there are player banners and posters and against collingwood, partridges in pear trees. Where are the "'Green' Machine"'s, the "Our McLean is Showing", our "Aussie Rules", our "Nate Jones has big cohones"... well you get my drift. After seeing some scum collingwood supporter make the effort to make a "Aussie Doesn't Rule" poster for QB this year, we should be making as much of a statement as possible next year.
  4. I'd just like to see him out on the park a bit more often!
  5. But now we can enjoy another Colliwobbles finals loss at the G!
  6. For some horrific reason the Cheney/Aussie morph reminds me of watching Australian Idol earlier tonight...
  7. That truly was special.. one of my football moments i'll treasure for ever.
  8. I was just thinking today "I wonder what MFC would have done should we have kept Neale on for another year and were now head hunting a senior coach"....
  9. Incredible that Ninthmond supporters were running around the cheer squad with wooden spoons... how short their memories are!
  10. Oh, next year i will be initiating the "competitive" drinking game.
  11. While the cheers sounded the same, the chatter about the Demon logo lasted longer than the chatter about the MFC logo. The Demon is back!
  12. It wasn't too bad - dribs and drabs arrived immediately after, they had a big screen up with the Debt Demolition logo, a small stage with some 'beats' being played out by a guy with turntables, pony rides for the kids (which was really cute), a bunch of breakdancers and jumping castles etc. They players turned up around 6:00pm, a lot of signatures and friendly chat behind the grandstand, and then the rest of the players turned up at the front. I saw a lady having a nice chat/debate with Bails about our game plan, and he sketched out a little football oval and showed some details for her! Was really good to have a chat with Brad Miller, he was very very approachable, Cam Bruce was ridiculously distant - almost seemed put out to chat with me. Isaac Weetra was good to chat with, although it was clear a lot of people weren't sure who he was - same with Cale Morton (surprisingly) . PJ says things are feeling good after the surgery but it's still not long after (still had crutches). Moloney looked snazzy in a suit, most players were in tracksuits. Jimmy was there pressing flesh, my god he is tall. There was a rev-up about the Debt Demolition, a quick chat about how we're doing, but i had to leave fairly shortly after that. I do know Bails was going to have mock interviews of a few players, i overheard a support staffer chatting with him (he was to be up next) but i had to leave around then. A little disappointed i didn't stay, i wanted to get a few videos on the snazzy new cameraphone and youtube them. All up there would probably have been 500-1000 people there, but i'm a terrible guess of figures.
  13. I didn't see any actual guernseys, i'm guessing they would have brought out one should a clear choice have been made. If they did make a decision later, i'm happy to be corrected!
  14. Grimey said he was caught out a little by the speed of the game after the match, will be better for the run. Anybody else hear a little cheer around the ground when he got his hands on the ball?
  15. Jimmy simply said "we'll take that on board" and while i left not too much longer after that, no announcement was made.
  16. Well, jimmy said that the voting was 50 50 tonight, and we had a crowd vote... The cheers were equally loud.
  17. The reaction of the crowd at olympic park could be interesting. Two classic demon supporters in front of me here, discussing 'our number 20's' game.
  18. I'd love to see what the AFL would use to designate 15th and 16th in that situation. Would it be the first team to reach the 4 wins? Highest number of points involved in winning margins? Most goals kicked? Looking at allthestats.com: Melb: avg points for = 75 avg points against = 118 Rich avg points for = 100 avg points against = 107 so if we average melb average points for vs rich avg points against and vice versa.... we get Melb 91 vs Richmond 109. 15 WCE 65.88% 16 MELB 64.83%
  19. Here's a timesaver guys... via the magic of excel i have calculated all the permutations for you. Our total score, the margin required at that score, our resulting percentage, and the difference in percentage between WCE and MFC. Print it out and bring it to the game! Show your friends! Wave it in the air when we're 4 goals up with 94 points on the board! Please note, red shaded sections = impossible to avoid spoon.
  20. The BigFooty comment wasn't really that much chop from memory, he just queried why Neitz was included in a 'best CHF' or similar poll between about 5-6 players. I'll bet the players all had a good laugh about it and moved on
  21. Not too long, it was far too entertaining imagining it unfolding in my head. The final play Melb vs Bris would have been much easier.. it would have looked like this! ..................Wonna ......Green <--------------------------------------- <----------
  22. Sounds good, the only problem was that Petterd didn't spill the mark - he took it at full pace but saw Brock running the other way, and handballed it off at full speed with Mclean bursting through Petterd's man in the centre (cleaning up Mackie in the process), baulking, watches the F50 clear out with leads, dishes it off to the left while looking to the right to Buckley, and the rest is history. Or, to make it easier,
