Match Day Experience - time to lift our game
Davos replied to Leoncelli_36's topic in Melbourne Demons
They're concerned about the A-League's "Match Day Experience" and are trying to replicate that atmosphere at AFL games. Good luck with that. -
The loss was painful, but our young guys will be better for it in the long run imo.
-
It's basic football. Every player at any level knows to get numbers behind the ball in that situation. Poor leadership.

I reckon we shouldn't trade our first pick for anyone now that Shiel, and likely Treloar, are off the table. Hit the early picks again (would happily trade Howe for another first round pick) and add to what is already a pretty promising young, tight-knit core. Radical idea, I know.

Man, Robbie Gray is outstanding.
-
Again, we show that we can't keep up in the midfield with top sides. Gray, Boak, Wines and Ebert are head and shoulders above every one of our mids unfortunately. We are desperate for Brayshaw and Petracca to come on faster than should be expected of youngsters.

Can anyone who rates Rohan Bail as a footballer please jog on.

I'm now convinced you're taking the [censored].

Salem just has "it" doesn't he? The fact he didn't accumulate a whole lot of the footy in his debut season was't a concern from my perspective at all. Clean, hard, fast, clutch and a ripping left boot as well. As for the Bont, what a joy to watch. Am genuinely pumped to see him in the flesh when we play the dogs this year. My favourite non-MFC player in the league.

Hahahahahaha

Really like it.

If we win 12 I'll eat my jocks.

I wouldn't care if he wasn't trying to drag Lumumba's name through the mud. He's one of our boys now, so Barrett can [censored] right off.

I'm all about big Vandenberg. I like the cut of his jib. -
Croke Park is outstanding. Definitely want to go to Wrigley Field.

2015 MFC Training Camp Maroochydore

Look at that, wrecking cultures as he pleases. What a pretentious [censored], no idea why we would recruit him. -
Who is shaping as a surprise packet for Melbourne in 2015?

Please see below for links to some great CHFs who Hogan may be compared to. Turn your attention to the first two seasons of their careers: http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-hawthorn-hawks--jarryd-roughead http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-brisbane-lions--jonathan-brown http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-adelaide-crows--wayne-carey http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-st-kilda-saints--nick-riewoldt Now I understand that Hogan has been with us for a couple of years already, but considering he hasn't played a single AFL game yet, I don't think it is unreasonable to treat this year like any players first. If he kicks over 40 goals I will eat my hat. -
Let's all calm down. Yes, our draft looks good, but I've definitely heard all this before.

I think King had some inside mail on Neeld...

I love how whenever a journo writes a less than glowing piece on the club, someone will always pop up with the old "I hate so and so, has absolutely no idea etc". Always good for a laugh.

Probably won't mean a lot to you all, but I remember watching Duggan play for St Pats as a year 10. In a side that featured future AFL players such as Jake Neade, Dom Barry, Tanner Smith, Michael Close, Dallas Wilsmore and Matt Crouch, Duggan still caught the eye as the classiest player on the field. Anyone who saw the Herald Sun Shield final this year would've seen a young player with unbelievable ability. Although it is unlikely, I would be fine with us taking him with pick 3.

Spoke to a mate who is involved pretty heavily at the Falcons and Geelong footy today, and he said that one of McCartin's strengths is that he can play "deep forward, high forward and even CHB if you need him to". Mentioned that he has been given the deep forward role over the last two years but is definitely more versatile than some realise. Also said he probably should go number 1 because of St Kilda's needs, but that was pure speculation.

Forget his on-field abilities for a second, and think about what his personality will bring to the group. We desperately need more guys with grit, strong characters who help define a group and bring the best out of those around them. Where's our Voss, Selwood, Hodge etc? If he can play, which it sounds like he can, then surely we must take him at 3. The potential benefits are far too good to pass up.
