Just finished watching the replay. Wagner did some very good things with ball in hand. He deserves another crack, especially considering Salem is suspended this week. Unless the coaches think that some players are need of a rest (such as Hannan against the Giants), I'd be happy with no changes.

Brilliant reward for hard work. The HS article is spot on by calling him one of footy's greatest survivors. When you think of it, he's come an incredibly long way over the last 4-5 years since he debuted. Who would of thought that after his first game for us, he'd be the last player standing from the list of 'recycled players' we recruited at the end of 2012. He might not play much in the seniors next year with the return of Hogan, but he is fantastic depth and will no doubt continue to provide 100% each and every time he runs onto the field. Great news about Gawn as well. Next year looks like a big year for re-signings so its nice to hear that we're progressing nicely on that one. Also, I thought Jayden signed on last month until 2020? The HS might be a bit late on that one.

Just for a bit of fun, I thought I'd delve into the Demon statistic archives. Clarry's season so far has been beyond comprehension when you take into account the nearly 160 years of the MFC. (Sourced from AFL Tables) - Currently sitting in 4th for most disposals in a season with 599 touches after 20 games (only sitting 18 behind Nathan Jones' 2016 season). Clarry will without a doubt lead this category after the Brisbane game. - Currently ranked as number 1 for most handballs in a season. Clarry has handballed 438 times this season, 109 more times than the next ranked player - Currently placed second for most tackles in a season with 144. He'll only need 5 tackles for the remainder of the season Jack Viney's 148 tackle record set in 2016. - Ranked third in clearances with 135 so far this season. Should claim second place by seasons end but will need 19 more to take first place away from Brent Moloney's 2011 season. - Currently ranked fourth in most clangers in a.....actually let's forget about that one! - Absolutely dominating the contested possessions in a season category. Currently ranked first with 316 for the season over 20 games, edging out Brent Moloney's record of 271 set back in 2011. He also shares the most contested possessions in a single game record with Jack Viney with 26 in a match. - Also, currently ranked 6th on the all time list for most handballs in a season recorded by ANY PLAYER in the history of the competition. He only needs 35 handballs to beat the record. And he just turned 20 years old. Enjoy the ride folks. He's only just getting started.

What an inclusion he'd be going into an elimination final. Fingers crossed he can get himself right.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Demon Jack replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I love how he can kick 55 meters without breaking a sweat. 17 goals in his last 10 games. If you had said to me 5-6 games into the season that Milkshake would have a 20 goal season (he hadn't even kicked any or shown anything of value at this point), its safe to say I would've laughed straight back in your face. I've seriously turned around on this one. -
Out: Wagner In: Salem (if free to play) Happy to let Weid have a crack at a bit more of an inexperienced side. He showed some ok signs today.
-
Haven't missed a Demons game in Melbourne this season and I don't plan to start now. Might drag along a couple of North/Richmond supporting mates for a some extra numbers if we're desperate.
-
Too kind for my liking. The final Bulldogs score is far more accurate.

This season is far from over. Until then, there's no point in complaining like it is. We still have three very winnable games left and this season is so incredibly even that even 12 wins might sneak us into the eight if we're lucky with percentage.

I really don't even care that a Geelong win would be better for our season. Smash them Sydney.

To continue this story, when Beamer left as a Free Agent, we received a 3rd round draft pick as compensation, which turned into Dean Kent. -
I really wouldn't...

I suppose it helps when I actually do my research Courtesy of the Daily Telegraph..."GWS say Shane Mumford should return this week, but Will Setterfield and Steve Johnson face tests."
-
Greene out. Mumford out. Cameron out. Melbourne regain around 450 games of experience with Vince and Jones returning. The stars are aligning for the typical 'responding against the critics' type of performance that only comes after a bad loss against an irrelevant team. Out: Trengove, ANB, Hogan IN: Jones, Vince, Weideman If Jones and Vince weren't returning this weekend, then I'd be inclined to give Maynard a run. In all seriousness I hope he gets a game soon. His VFL form of late has been amazing.

12 wins might be enough to make the eight provided a couple of results go our way (such as Port beating St Kilda last night and Hawthorn winning against Sydney on Friday).

Gee, I almost forgot about him. I really hoped that we'd give him a rookie spot back a couple of years ago. Seems as though the club made the right call though. Also, interesting to see Hulett in the development league. Does anyone know how he's progressing? Is he a delist candidate at years end or will we hang on to him as depth for our talls department?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
Demon Jack replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
A good friend of mine is a big North fan, so I've had the opportunity to see a few of their games this year. I think the key to a win is to shut down Ben Brown. He has been unbelievable this year and is their main avenue to goal. Hopefully a bit of wet weather plays a role in this. Hopefully we see a big game from Jeffy. I can't recall him having many big days against North over his career, even while he was at Carlton. Our last couple of encounters with North have finished with us down by the couple of goals that he would usually kick. EDIT: Just the seven goals from Jeffy against North in six encounters. -
Interview with Zac starts at 26:50

I loved Tyson's comment from the weekend. “He’s remarkable. I don’t think he feels pain,” “A truck could hit him tomorrow and he’d still play,”

I haven't seen much of the Crows this year. Is Lever really that good to potentially justify two first round picks? -
A lot of players are still building their tanks. Our game plan is very demanding over four quarters. The big wins will come, hopefully in the form of a ten goal win this weekend against North. For what its worth, I'm pretty content with just winning these days after only 17 wins between the start of 2012 and the end of 2015. EDIT: Sorry, did I say 17 wins? I meant 15....Ouch.

Some encouraging news.
