Demon Jack

Its been mentioned on the Demonland socials, but congratulations on 50 games to Gus Brayshaw! All of Salem, Harmes, Petracca, OMac, Oliver, ANB and now Gussy have passed 50 games this year. Not a bad group. EDIT: On a similar note, Melksham plays his 150th game this weekend. Congrats Milkshake!

Just heard that Marcus Bontempelli won't play this weekend. Apparently had his appendix removed.

Watched the second half of the Casey game yesterday. Honestly could not believe that this was Vanders' first hit out in nearly two years. He was fantastic to watch.

254th this week. Played his 250th against the Dogs. We've since played Collingwood, Port and the Bulldogs.

Great changes. Amazing how much better the side looks with some pace! Petty seems like a great young player but seemed completely out of his depth last weekend. Frost should've been included straight after Lever tore his ACL. While his disposal leans more towards the 'tear your hair out' kind, he provides us with some much needed dash out of our defensive 50. Can take a mark as well. Garlett and Spargo in the same side is something I've wanted to see for a while. Hopefully Jeffy can re-consolidate his position in the 22. He may have the occasional stinker, but our forward line is far more dangerous when he's at the crumb of the ball. He's won a fair few games off his boot over the last few years. Also very pleased for Billy Stretch. I think he's unfairly judged by many supporters. He's still very young and I've seen him do some very clever things in the senior side. I'm hoping he's given a few weeks to show his ability.

If you think about it, this is Gus' first clear run of football since his first season in 2015. The poor kid has had some shocking luck over the last two seasons. Hopefully we give him every chance to cement his position in the team. He certainly wasn't our worst on Sunday.

We're in real need of another new Jack following the great 'Jack purge' between 2015 and 2017. Grimes, Fitzpatrick, Trengove and now Watts We desperately lack depth in this area.

Hearing pick 66 should be what brings Balic to Melbourne.

Crozier (who's been a handy player for Freo) was just traded to the Dogs for pick 40. Surely Fremantle can't justify demanding anything before that for Balic?

Definitely overs but I'm thrilled to have Jake at the club! I'm backing that Josh Mahoney still has a few tricks up his sleeve over the remainder of the trade period that will see us advance back up this/next year's draft order.

Balic was touted as first round pick in his draft year but ended up sliding to pick 30 odd. Could be a very good pickup now that he's back home in Victoria. As mentioned above, a fourth round pick could get it done considering he's officially requested a trade.

I dunno. Strikes me as 54 sort of guy.

Just a thought if the Crows don't budge on two first round picks. Would we be able to snare Sydney's first round pick as part of the potential Watts deal? As a basis, Watts + Pick 27 to Sydney for their first round pick (pick 13). Picks 10 + 13 to Adelaide for Lever.

Clarry's 2017 might be one of the best seasons ever from a Demon, and we're talking nearly 160 years worth of players. And now for everyone's favourite stat.....he only just turned 20.

Agreed. Hence why I think he should be played forward next year should we grab Lever. I haven't rated McDonald in defense this season. His stints in the ruck and around the ball when Max was injured were also pretty good.

Had a bad day. Simple as that. He's been brilliant for most of this year. I hope we get Lever in the off-season though as I much prefer seeing McDonald line-up in the forward line.

If I can recall, Chook has a fair few runs on the board. This will be interesting.

Would be a likely top 5 placer in the B&F if it wasn't for his average first 6-7 weeks. He's been absolutely brilliant since around Queens Birthday. Fun fact: Jake has kicked at least one goal in each of his last eleven games. That ranks him at seven in the entire league for the most consecutive games kicking a goal. Should claim second place by seasons end but will need 19 more to take first place away from Brent Moloney's 2011 season. - Currently ranked fourth in most clangers in a.....actually let's forget about that one! - Absolutely dominating the contested possessions in a season category. Currently ranked first with 316 for the season over 20 games, edging out Brent Moloney's record of 271 set back in 2011. He also shares the most contested possessions in a single game record with Jack Viney with 26 in a match. - Also, currently ranked 6th on the all time list for most handballs in a season recorded by ANY PLAYER in the history of the competition. I love how he can kick 55 meters without breaking a sweat. 17 goals in his last 10 games. If you had said to me 5-6 games into the season that Milkshake would have a 20 goal season (he hadn't even kicked any or shown anything of value at this point), its safe to say I would've laughed straight back in your face. I've seriously turned around on this one.
