  1. Love this. This thread may very well become the Max Gawn equivalent of the 'Jack Viney made me cry thread'
  2. Fantastic second year. Dropped in form a little bit in the final three weeks, but he wasn't alone there.
  3. Unfortunately, I think we were beaten by the Giants in a another game towards the end of 2013. Regardless, that is a terrible record to have. Hard to believe we haven't learnt from it since.
  4. Having the youngest side for at least 15 rounds of the season certainly makes ten wins seem more impressive. Agree with the above though. It still hurts.
  5. Just so everyone knows, the last time we won four on the trot was back in 2006
  6. http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-06-17/kennedyharris-injures-hamstring-again I seriously feel for Jay. He's had an awful run of injuries so far this year.
  7. Great stat. We just missed out on the ton by less than a goal against St Kilda last week as well.
  8. I agree. This thread needs more Hogan
  9. Mayne and Neale are also speculated to move clubs at seasons end as well. Serious rebuild coming up for Freo. All and all, there's seriously been some terrible list management by Ross Lyon considering there is a real lack of young talent coming through.
  10. I hold fears that Jesse will leave as Fremantle will likely offer him the whole dock. However, Jesse seems to have made some great relationships with the players and staff and seems to be over the homesickness he experienced when he suffered his back injury. If we keep performing well throughout this year and next, it will provide Jesse with further incentive to stick with us for the long haul. Regardless of what happens, let's just enjoy the ride and what comes with it.
  11. Very early days but jeez, Oliver has a real 'Dangerfield' vibe about him. His breakaway pace and genuine X factor means he could be anything. That mark he took on the weekend oozed confidence as well. Having the guts to take on your man one on one in the defensive 50 and take a specky on him, you don't see that from many first year players.
  12. (cough) Petracca (cough)
  13. He won't just start on the ground, he'll start in the centre square.
  14. Honestly, it wouldn't be Demonland without the occasional mild freakout. We do support the Demons after all. Ps. I think he'll stay too.
  15. Nothing to worry about at the moment. It's rare players sign an extension a year or two before their current contract expires unless they are certain the club is on the right path. Considering our on field performance over the last decade, I can understand the hesitance to sign a long term contract when it's uncertain where we'll be in terms of our on field performance this time in a couple years.

Certainly a chip off the old block! Some of those comparisons are eerily similar. It is early days though. Although, out of curiosity, when did Demonland start monitoring Jack Viney or Billy Stretch?
  17. Tapscott was literally built like a brick shithouse in that he couldn't move. Oliver is built like a brick shithouse with jet engines attached to it.
  18. Australia are dominating after the opening day of the first test against NZ. Warner (163) and Khawaja (102*) both made hundreds while Burns (71*) contributed a handy fifty in his first knock as test opener. Steve Smith (41*) and Khawaja are now at the crease and look set for a big second day.
  19. We just need to pick up Lovett and all of a sudden it's 1995 again.
  20. Wow that was unexpected! Didn't even realise the category B rookie list was a thing until now. Anyways, welcome Joel!
  21. There is something to work with there... I hope Goodwin and co can bring that out on a more consistent basis. Welcome Melksham!
  22. Sad thing is that I think even Dean Gore was given a highlights reel...
  23. Jesus Christ I hope so! Pick 25 for Melksham is way overs. Hopefully we can pick up a third rounder to use on Bugg.
  24. As it's been stated that it's a fairly weak draft after the first 20 odd picks, I wouldn't be surprised it the value of draft picks may've lessened a tad. Either way, welcome aboard MIlkshake!
  25. If we're unable to find an A grader to trade our first pick on, then I'd be happy to take it into the draft. Although it's a shallower draft than previous years there's still plenty of talent that'll be recruited in the first 15-20 picks.
