  1. I remember that game. Big pressure relieving win for Dean Bailey after allegations of the team playing 'bruise free footy' (not entitely inaccurate). Maxy (who played a solid game) took a cracking grab on Fletcher and fittingly missed from 10 metres out directly in front.
  2. Just finished work and looked at the scores for the first time since the end of the first quarter. Wow! Just simply Wow! Absolutely stunning performance. Will be keenly watching the replay tomorrow!
  3. Bit reminiscent of Melbourne vs Collingwood in the final round last year.
  4. 6. Gawn 5. Harmes 4. Melksham 3. Brayshaw 2. Hannan 1. Jetta Honorable mentions to our key defenders in OMac and Frost as well as the skipper
  5. Vandenberg can play
  6. Don't forget Tim Smith last year as well.
  7. In light of reason news. Out: Hogan, Spargo, Hunt In: Melksham, Kent, Hibberd JKH showed a bit of composure last week and we may need to persist with Pederson as an extra tall now that Hogan is injured. Both can stick around for another week. Melksham is a big in this week. We've desperately missed his kicking skills inside 50 which was highlighted by Allir intercepting our long bombs at will on Sunday. Amazingly, Jake's still leading the league in goal assists despite missing the last fortnight. I've really enjoyed Charlie Spargo's work this year and think he has a big future with us over the next 10 to 15 years, but I believe a more experienced player such as Kent is going to provide more going into a potential finals campaign. He showed some great form this year before he injured his hamstring and I'd like to see him get another crack in the seniors.
  8. Another navicular bone related injury... Anyway, best of luck Jesse! Hope to see you back fit and firing in round 1 next year.
  9. I'm working today, preventing any possible scorechecks until the game finishes at 6:00ish Godspeed.
  10. I think a hefty bag of three goals in the final round propelled Dawes to that significant milestone. Amazingly, I also recall that Dom Tyson was runner up that year with 16 or 17. Wasn't our finest year in regards to scoring.
  11. 6. Clarry 5. Brayshaw 4. Salem 3. Harmes 2. Hogan 1. Jones
  12. Well this came out of nowhere. Best of luck in the future Harley!
  13. As fantastic as Grundy has been for Collingwood this season, surely this stat gives Maxy the edge in the battle for AA? Mind boggling numbers.
  14. Improving by the week. I was particularly impressed with his game last night as it looked like he copped a nasty hit to the shoulder, yet was still able to display incredible strength and creativity in the stoppages. Expect a lot of centre bounces featuring Petracca, Oliver and Brayshaw over the next decade. Exciting stuff.
  15. Great minute from JKH!
  16. Working tonight which will require some strategically placed bathroom breaks for the occasional score check. Dees by 19 Salem as smokey for BOG
  17. Am I the only one not huge on Zac Jones? Not a bad player, but if he wasn't related to a certain Melbourne skipper, I don't think there'd be much interest in him.
  18. As mentioned above, although it's not a 'homegrown' milestone, it's still a significant milestone for both club and player. Also, aside from Neitz, does anyone know any other 300 game players who have donned the red and blue? Bit of a rare occurance at this club.
  19. Provided both Harmes and Oliver are fit to play. Out: JKH In: Kent Kent was in some great form before he injured his hamstring earlier in the year. I'd like to see him have another shot in the seniors.
  20. Considering Lewy's 300th game is likely to be a substantial talking point ahead of this weekend, I thought It'd be only right to acknowledge that his milestone will be shared by Dom Tyson, who'll notch up a century of AFL games (13 with GWS, 87 with Melbourne.) Although it hasn't been an ideal season from Dom's perspective, I'd like to take the opportunity, regardless of what happens at seasons end, to say thanks to our number 12 for his contribution so far to the red and blue!
  21. How about that handball that led to McDonald's third major? I hope we're all enjoying this because there's still another 10-15 years of his career to look forward to. Also, happy 21st Clarry!
  22. Bit of an overreaction on OMac. Was in seriously good nick in the first half of the season and was lauded by some on this forum as a potential AA smokey. No, his form lately hasn't been great but the same could be said for our entire back line since Lever's injury. JKH though is another story... He was one of my favourite players back in 2014 when he burst onto the scene when he kicked three in a NAB Cup game and played a neat forward pressure role during the year. Can't say I've seen much since to suggest he's going to be around much longer.
  23. Just heard that Marcus Bontempelli won't play this weekend. Apparently had his appendix removed.
  24. If you think about it, this is Gus' first clear run of football since his first season in 2015. The poor kid has had some shocking luck over the last two seasons. Hopefully we give him every chance to cement his position in the team. He certainly wasn't our worst on Sunday.
