  1. Mitch Robinson ... not keen on his character. But is the tough, no finesse, get the footy type we need. And he might be keen. Add Mark Choco Williams as coach and these bad boys would be sorted.
  2. Yes the kid can play. He is tough. If he was a midfielder, I would grab him at pick 20. But he is a HBF and we need midfielders desparately. Pick 38 would be a good bargain and a club culture builder.
  3. a home game at the MCG ... WOW Love the campaign. MFC members and supporters must be the most RESILIENT people in the community. We have been kicked but we love our footy club. Go DEMONS (not dees)
  4. I rate Zac Jones highly. He showed toughness, footy smarts, good rebound and skills in under 18s rewarded with All Australian honours. This kid would love to play alongside his brother. Agree would be a lock in if available at pick 39 (our 3rd round pick likely right now). Plus it gives the "footy club" a feel of a footy club.
  5. Billy Stretch - yes to father/son pick. He wants to be at MFC. That's step 1 for me. And he has talent. Lock it in.
  6. Its the kids again ... given our lack of culture highlighted in 2013, players would be mad to give up their current premiership window in any top 8 club. Kangas and Lions plus Eagles are all top 8 chances in 2014. I suggest its Daisy Thomas and then kids as our best hope. Maybe someone like Levi Greenwood at Kangas is a chance as he has ben squeezed out in 2013.
  7. This kid should be front of mind, ahead of Aish. Get a look at his under 18 form. Clearly the best player as highlighted by the best player medal. Tough, skilled, good pace, perpetual motion, leadership, goalkicker, tackler ... I rate him the best midfielder in 2013 draft.
  8. Aish is a Bryce Gibbs type ... very good but maybe not a gamebreaker.
  9. I have seen Dominic Sheed and rate him a top 5 selection. It is bizarre that some phantoms have him 15-18. (Crouch is definitely top 10).
  10. Shut it down. Frawley had meet his requirements time close and stop his opponents, despite the weight of inside 50s...
  11. agreed... Dominic Sheed IMO will be better than Winguard
  12. Knightmare wrap on Aish on Big Footy site. Aish is an elite user of the footy and just has more time and space than the next player. In space, in traffic, it doesn’t matter for Aish he has rare composure and continues to make the right decisions and never seems rushed. By both hand or foot he consistently uses it well and is one of the more duel sided players you’ll see at this young age and rarely misses a target. Strong mark overhead for his size and has a strong 1v1 game despite his lean build. Aish is an impressive athlete with his ability burst out of traffic with the pill, to sidestep and has a real burst of speed on him in a straight line also. Aish still needs to get stronger but that will come. Despite his lean build he is not a soft outside player and is very willing to get his hands dirty and go hard when it’s his turn but looks more likely to settle on a wing or back flank. Lock in draft pick #2 for me
  13. sorry have to keep reminding MFC ... this kid is a must get. Zac Jones (VIC – Def/Mid) Height: 181cm, Weight: 74kg, DOB: 15/03/1995 Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays similar in style to: Michael Hibberd (bombers) Profile: Younger brother of Melbourne’s Nathan Jones. He’s not the same level midfielder as Nathan but has some similar traits with that same hardness and love for the contest to him but at this point is probably better suited as a defender. Jones down back can play effectively both as a rebounder and shutdown player. Jones by foot is a good user of the footy hitting his targets over a variety of distances. He is also an excellent mark for his size but especially coming off his man to take an intercept mark. Physically he has the strength to give with stronger players but then the pace to go with the quicker players. He also provides good run and carry and has an above average burst of speed to him.
  14. I am a broken man. I had hope for 2013 as a year that we saw a push back with Mitch Clar, & Dawes as a formidable fwd line, Jack Viney on board, Jimmy T and the development of plenty of others. Well not to be I am a shattered MFC member. But I need to push for the glimmer of light ahead ... Steps 1. retain Peter Jackson as CEO for 2014 (as AFL required) 2. sign up Mark "Choco" Williams as senior coach. Remove all assistants on board right now, and keep Todd Viney as a development coach alone. 3. Delist around 8-9 players. Each spot on the list will be precious and we need to choose wisely. 4. 2013 trade and national draft. Essential, vital, crucial. Jesse Hogan - elevated #2 James Aish #3 (AFL Priority) Dominic Sheed #20 Nathan Freeman #38 Zak Jones #56 Nathan Drummond all modern day types. Tough and good pace. My only 3 players from other clubs to realistically pursue. - Levi Greenwood (Kangas) 24. tough, inside mid. good ballwinner. Seems out of favour at Kangas. PSD#2 for me . a must get for me. - Jordan Schroder (Cats) 21 tough. unable to break into Cats midfield but would settle at MFC and is Selwood like in attack on the footy. $$ and contract would attract. - Daniel Cross. Yes he's 30 but all class and would help our midfield compete. A new home would refresh and a promise of a fair go. 5. a good draw in 2014 for MCG homes games. The AFL needs to give us home games agst Collingwood (Queens Birthday), Carlton, Essendon and Richmond as 50,000 strong attendances to help our coffers. Games agst Giants, Dockers, Power etc at MCG would be avoided. And no homes games at Etihad. 6. Game style - intense. play on. Entertain. Scoring the focus. Hope with a structure.
  15. Jimmy Toumpas needs to be back at Casey and brought on with a view to 2014. Give him a break from the destruction of MFC 1sts right now. (posted for the 4 th consecutive week !!)
  16. AFL should allocate a 17yo Mini-draft choice for the Demons. Clem Smith is a gun 17yo from WA and the Eagles would be super keen. Pick 9 for him would be a good result all round.
  17. Choco Williams as coach ... I HOPE SO. Dustin Martin in red and blue in 2014 - zero % likely
  18. "I watch teams like North Melbourne and many others who at least give their heart and soul to supporters. The MFC list are the complete opposite." agree. All the coaching panel must go. I can see about 12 blokes again being delisted. They are no desperate or intense for AFL footy.
  19. Ins:Garland, Terlich, Taggert (sub), Strauss. Outs: Clisby , Toumpas, Kent, Tapscott
  20. This kid will be a STAR. He must be in Red & Blue in 2014.
  21. To be Delisted (x8) MacDonald Bail Spencer Jetta Davis … or Dunn Sellar … or Gillies Rodan … or Davey Nicholson trade Keep 1 more year (on the edge)… Byrnes, Strauss, Taggert, Tynan, Dunn, Davey, Gillies, Tapscott. Ins (+8): Mitch Hallahan (trade from Hawks) 4 youngsters in draft ... 2, 20, 21 (AFL priority pick), 40. All mids. 3 recycled (of…) Matt Thomas, Daniel Cross, Todd Banfield, Travis Lockyer, Jarryd Lyons, Anthony Miles. Clisby - keep on rookie list New Rookies - FB and Ruck backups
  22. 1 GWS James Aish 2 MEL Dominic Sheed 3 WB Tom Boyd 4 STK Luke Dunstan 5 SUNS Matt Crouch 6 BRIS Matt Scharenberg 7 WC Josh Kelly 8 KANGAS Luke McDonald * 9 Port Luke Billings 10 Carl Marco Bontempelli Sheed fits all Melbourne's requirements... a leader, skilled, tough, ballwinner, inside mid, good pace, tackles hard, smart. Has STAR potential.
