WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN NEWTON

Even if someone has made him an offer, we can beat it. 3 years at $180,000 year gets it done. We have the NEED and the CASH -

This is the kind of opportunity we need to grab. Tell him we want him as a PSD pick 2. 22yo left footer, tough and ready to go in our midfielder group. Get him. -

MFC should offer the kid a 2 year contract. Bypass our pick 53, and select him in PSD # 2. Solid, left footer, 22yo, ready to go. He was very unlucky not to make Port's finals team. Emergency on 5-6 times in last half of 2014. -
West Coast must be going well. Just read they delisted Adam Carter. I was super impressed in a East Perth WAFL game I watched this year. Checked to see ge was Eagles listed at the time as I thought he was a prospect. Only 20. Tough and skilled. Not a skinny type. Possible rookie in my opinion. He is better than Terlich in the small defensive role. Handy backup to Nev Jetta IMO.

again 5 years at $600,000 a year = $3M. Reward and faith in the man. He will lead us to the finals in 2016.

Who will be our next Neville Jetta

Viv Michie ... I saw some good signs at the end of 2014. A big preseason and a spot on the wing is calling. -
I have grave concerns for JT's future. I feel he may be a retiree at 23.
-
I like this kid ... lots of G&D and a demon supporter growing up. Runs and carries the footy. I think he could surprise some in 2015 and get his debut by round 4-5.

no tears from me ... average footballer.

AFL National Draft 2014 Pick 40
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
We would be dreaming if ... Nakia Cockatoo - 182 cms- likely pick 25-35 ... fast, solid, loves to run Damian Cavka - 183cms, likely 25-35 - runs and runs, long kick, and gets it 25+ times. Classic ruck rover. But in reality will aim for ... Nathan Freeman - 185cms, 19yo,fast, strong, half back turned midfielder. Athletic and ready to go round 1. Tom Wilkinson - 184cms, on the rise. Started as a HFF. Now a key running mid. Great TAC finals and outshown many others. A steal at 40. James Rose - 186cms, big bodied SA mid. Played HFF but also rotates as mid. Competitive and skilled. Matthew Hammelman - 198cm Giant from Qld. Goalkicking key forward. Athletic to play in ruck in future. Jack Lonie -173cms, energetic small who has the skills and intensity for AFL. Boomer Harvey like but a left footer. Josh Glenn - 19yo, skilled left foot, wingman. Needs a preseason in the gym but ready to go after year in SANFL Brett Eddy -193cms- leading goalkicker in SANFL. 23yo, would play 3rd tall in AFL, like Gunston from hawks. Good mark and great shot. Matt Goodyear -186cm, solid mid again. Accumulates and competes. Smart player who creates opportunities. Oscar McDonald - 194cms, not sure we need another key back but brotherly connection means we will look at. Great 2nd half and has competitive heart. Billy Evans - 187cms - half back / mid. Ollie Wines size. Smart. Natural leader. Good carnival but played team role rather than selfish impresser. More likely at pick 53. -
Jeremy Howe down forward in 2015. Lamumba takes the tall HBF spot. Howe showed in 2013 he is a very dangerous forward and can play the Gunston role alongside some tall timber. We NEED more goalkickers.

Nathan should be offered at 5 year x $600,000 contract, nothing less. Loyalty and performance. Nothing too straining. He is a 3 x B&F winner and captain. FULL STOP. GET IT DONE NOW.

definite rookie chance ... either as our rookie pick #2 or #20. Behind too many in Crows midfield. Impressed in SANFL so will get another chance.

AFL National Draft 2014 Pick 40
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
it has to be either Tom Wilkinson or Nathan Drummond. Both tipped in 35-45 range. Pace to burn and put up some impressive numbers. We will still need pace in the mids. -
options are: 1. if Saints go for McCartin, we grab Petracca at #2 & Brayshaw at #3. or 2. if Saints go for Petracca, we have some choices. Its Brayshaw at #2, then either Wright, McCartin or Lever. Any of these 3 will be good.
