What happens to the draft in 2020
Yes very compromised draft. If the Dees get picks in 30 and 40s then still some value. Was hoping Dumesny might fly under the radar but playing excellent senior footy and very good composure with the footy

What happens to the draft in 2020
Cal Twomey has given his top 25. About 8 are already claimed under the zone, NGA or father son. There’s another 20 that I’d rate highly so maybe there’s a diamond or two for the Dees. I think clubs will face reduced lists so maybe 2-3 picks only for most clubs.

Dees on Brink of Another Trade Disaster
Pick 6 traded to Suns for May, kk and Bennell. I’d through in the curve ball. May got Bennell yo the Dees. Let’s evaluate the trade including HB joining us. Sure Ben King has massive potential but I’ll wait a bit longer for the final judgement on this trade.

TEAMS: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Yes Brown was the spare wheel. Now he must be feeling like a blown out tyre !!! The 2 key forwards worked well. I’m hoping Tomlinson gets a crack at CHF.

Thanks. Queensland thread will be “warmly received” ?????

Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
Highly unlikely!!

Yes likely to min 6 weeks in QLD. Any indication of location? Assume Gold Coast given scale of resorts and availability.

Injury List 2020
Tmcd out as a precaution imo. He’d play if it was a final or GF. Probably good to be cautious especially with block of games coming up.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Agree 100%. Mitch Brown must come in this week. Play as mobile CHF. Actually be handy given Hawks use Sicily as CHB and rebound defender. Need to make him accountable.

McCartin - should we consider recruiting him ??
Let me just echo this post.

Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
Dees hopeful of getting a game at Alice Springs. Makes sense. Got to still support the AFL NT development. Perhaps play the Dockers there. Makes sense. Avoids a trip to WA entirely as we already played the Eagles. Not too far for the Dockers either. Win win.

I’m thinking we play the finals in Auckland. It might be the only safe haven come late October.
-
Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
Need accomodation for 100 people. Have to accommodate some families. Imo Gold Coast is more likely setup.

Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
Had to happen. It’s good news. QLD - Gold Coast is best outcome and safer for now. ??? Winter escape. 21-22c most days on the GC. Beautiful. Good for the much needed skill sessions.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Leave Kozzzzzzzy in. Exciting. Sure a little raw but I love his energy. And his highlight pass to Bennell showed his skill and awareness.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
AFL site says possibly Tomlinson in for Lockhart. Not for me. It’s a no change response likely.

Demons NSW Hub
I’d recommend the Meriton Suites At Broadbeach. It’s excellent apartment style accomodation. Not the hotel one room setup. It’s only 5-10 minutes Bus trip to Metricon stadium. Good local shops and cafes. Woolies within 5 minutes walk. Close to the beach. Pacific Harbour shops close. Definitely not stay in Surfers. Too much trouble there. The only issue is proximity to the casino. Don’t want to tempt young blokes with $$$ RACV Royal Pines Resort is other option. It’s big and players can keep busy with 18 holes of golf on any of the courses. But it’s away from anything else. Perhaps that suits if you have to do the Q-tine thing

I was there in 1988 and 2000. Still trying to forget it!! Had quite a few beers before, during and after but the nightmare lives on!!!!

Grand Final at the Gabba. 45000 puzzled spectators !!!

Weideman's Future?
I liked his kicking. Nice and straight. Simple. Hogan was not good technically. Waved the bell from side to side. Weid gets sucked in under the footy in marking contests. Once he fixes that and lifts his intensity, he’ll bd very handy.

Injury List 2020
Tmcd should be fine to play. Scratch (corneal abrasion) heals in about 3 days. It’s very painful and first 24 hours is a lot of weeping of the eye and sensitivity to light (needed the patch).

Joe Daniher
Yes Heffernan signed a 3 year deal at end of 2002 with Dons. Then they had salary cap issues and traded him to us. We had salary cap issues too and took Heffernan as long as the Dons paid about 1/3rd of his salary. He played well in 2003 then declined through injury and confidence. Didn’t want to leave the Dons ultimately and returned after 3 years. The Dons offered him a 3 year deal for 2006 and we offered 2 years. But he finished after 2007 as he was spent. We got some value for a guy who cost us minimal.

That’s what happens when you complain and the chef finds out. Very harsh response imo. I went there a few years ago with friends and the steaks were good although we didn’t have dessert !!! Thankfully team is in Manly
