Absolutely nailed it. Must stop Parker. He’s the danger man.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021

Like to see Will Bravo in this game. Genuine pace and goalkicker. Another interesting player is Isaac Wareham. Excellent running half back- wing type. Good skills. Unlucky to miss out on 2019 draft. Now at Geelong Cats VFL team. -

Yes I thought that. Surely that’s the common sense outcome. -

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023

It’s always been a lingering shadow that his family name would always lead to a romantic notion of a switch to the maggot infested Pies. Sam has taken his time to develop as most young key position players do. Sam clearly has the size and skill to be a key full forward. His kicking is generally very accurate and he has a good conversion rate. It’s his lack of a second effort and real desire and intensity that perhaps holds him back. He can be a good mark but often gets out bodied by opponents in a contest. One goal and one tackle on average in his 44 games in 5 years is hardly appealing. If he is spell bound by the Pies and they offer him the $$$ and contract he wants, I don’t actually think they have the jewels we would ask for. I am not a fan of any of their list really. ( Perhaps Nathan Murphy and their 2022 first rounder??) -
He’s versatile and very handy as a - 30 year old - one year contract - key position player - who can come in when needed. Plan B.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021

I think Will Bravo is probably one youngster who could still add to our squad with his pace and attack on the footy. Loves to score a goal which is always a need for any team. I agree a key back as a backup now might be considered. Obviously there are Tom mcd and Mitch Brown as other versatile types already on the books. If we did seek a plan C type, options for me are Nick Coughlan at Werribee and as a wildcard Ryan Morrison. Coughlan is a top key back in the VFL and has the height and physical strength to fit straight in if required. I think he’s 23-24 now. He’d be good cover and had worked under Mark Williams at Werribee. Morrison is also 23-24 and is back at suburban footy at Noble Park. Had a good year in 2018 at Casey and was snapped up by the Kangas VFL squad in 2019. I thought his form at Casey warranted a permanent spot and he was excellent when Casey played the Kangas two years ago. -
Luke Jackson - Rising Star nomination
spirit of norm smith replied to Chelly's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely deserved the nomination. LJ really turned the game and his 2nd efforts were the highlight. And he’ll only get better. He can be a ruckman and ruck-rover type to really uplift our midfield to a new level. Gawn is still #1 but when we need to, LJ brings a new dimension to the team. -
The bloke was having a great year and a foundation player to our strong defence. May, Tomlinson, Lever, Salem, Hibberd, Hunt. Probably the best defence structure that I can remember. It’s a cruel game.

Bayley Fritsch cleared of striking
spirit of norm smith replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. Go with the Cunnington precedent. It’s an absolute disgrace given Fritsch had the footy, low impact, fend off and the other player played on. Not even a fractured eye socket!!! -

Exactly. Ball carrier. Fend. Low impact. Player plays on. Reprimand. -

Reprimand. $1000 fine. Accidental. Low impact. Player played on. -
Footy gods are so cruel.

Do we lack midfield depth?
spirit of norm smith replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Best 22 Inside - Trac Oliver Viney Jordon (Sparrow Harmes Vandenburg) Outside - Langdon Brayshaw (Baker Bowey Laurie) Dees might look for a skilled outside runner for the next trade or draft choices. -

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes I generally agree and think there is some undrafted youngsters from last year who will get a call up. But guys like Mihocek, Lambert, Barlow, Gibbons, Hind, Fritsch, Ryan, Aarts etc all remind you that very good state league players (even the 21-22 year olds) can progress and be successful regular AFL players. -
Good work Jesse. Quality young man. Hope his world improves and he enjoys his footy.

I went skiing for 3-4 weekends in about 1990 and 1991. Hard work to start but got the go of it after 2 days and was good fun with friends. Then it was just too expensive and too frickkkken cold. Never back since.

I hate the Cats. They are arrogant. Chris Scott is painful. But they were robbed. Clearly Cameron’s mark should have been paid. The kick went at least 15 metres.

Agree. Mitch H looked ok but not a regular best 22 type of player. Dogs may see him float in and out of their team depending on injury, similarly as the Dees did.
