  1. BIRCH: The moment I knew we were ready to win the flag
  2. Great news. Howes has that class and composure needed. Hoping he can get his body ready and his attitude ready for AFL intensity.
  3. Agree. White and Munro were huge through the whole year. Grey played excellent footy when given the opportunity.
  4. Thanks @Whispering_Jack Shame to see a local lad like Ellison move to Williamstown. Casey has been very good at uplifting local talent and giving them an opportunity. I would like to see young Roan Steele develop more in 2023. Hope Casey retains him. Ryan Valentine, Tommy McRae and Myles Shepherd all took their opportunities and would be welcomed back. Luca Goonan also one kid who I thought showed some talent as a inside mid type. From the 2022 under 18s group, undrafted duo Luke Bailey from Stingrays and Jonti Schuback from Gippsland look the most likely youngsters now available to come into the program.
  5. Port will be top 8 and in the battle for top 4 in my view.
  6. Current All Australian ruckman demoted to the bench. No way. Gawn will start in my view.
  7. https://www.williamstownfc.com.au/10-latest-news/2647-corey-ellison-joins-williamstown Ouch. He showed ability as a forward and defender for Casey. Obviously thought he will get more guaranteed games and game time , plus more dollars down at Willy. I thought Eliison might have nearly earned a late rookie position with the Dees or another club in the latest draft. Also read that Matt Buntine off to Caulfield Grammarians (Old Boys) in VAFA in 2023. Last years main Casey players were Munro, White, Ellison, Buntine, Grey, Bell, and Steele, whilst cameo appearances for youngsters like Baldi, Milford, Quigley, Josh Smith and Valentine. Really hope Steele stays as he showed plenty of skill and determination and could be a future rookie. With coach Corrigan give to the Cats, new coach Whitford might need to add 6-7 new faces to the Casey VFL 14 squad.
  8. Key back: May, Petty ( Tomlinson, Adams) Tall back: Lever (Turner, J Smith) Small/Med backs: Hibberd, Salem, Rivers, Bowey (D.Smith, Mcvee) 13 Rucks: Gawn, Grundy (Verrall, Farris-White ) 4 Inside Mids: Oliver, Petracca, Viney, Harmes, Brayshaw, Sparrow (Jordon, Dunstan) Outside Mids: Langdon, Hunter (Woey jnr) 11 Key fwd: McDonald, Brown (JVR, Schache, Jefferson ) Medium fwd: Fritsch (Melksham, Howes, Sestan) Small fwd: Pickett, Spargo, ANB (Chandler, Laurie, AMW) 15 Current squad 43.

  11. Love that we are back to Alice Springs. Very supportive of the I’ve been to Darwin twice back a few years ago and enjoyed it. Hopefully I can get time to get to the Alice game in the next year or so.
  12. Love it. We have Daisy as one of the legends. Plus Kate Hore. MFC AFLW B&F winner 2022. I love how she plays. Attacks the footy. Loves a goal. Tackles like it’s personal.
  13. From todays announcement, got 5/8 for the new players. If only I’d seen Hunter in 12 as you had noted it’s be 6/8. Great to see JVR get #2. I’m sure Stephen May #1 will get into JVRs ear about what defenders try to do. What a better mentor could you wish for.
  14. It’s a sign that the club really really really see JVR as part of the future. And want him to stay no matter what the two western Australian teams throw at him in years to come !!
  15. Hopefully both get to Casey but it’s wait and see.
  16. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/12/06/the-two-biggest-hard-luck-stories-out-of-the-2022-afl-draft/ I think surely it makes sense for Szybkowski to be added to the Dees train on group and if not picked up, then get a gig with Casey. He gets the footy no problems. He’s a local Beaconsfield boy so makes sense.
  17. I’d definitely have Will Lorenz slotted into this group. Displayed such skills and decision making. Love to see him in contention for one of the Dees picks in 2023.
  18. Maybe the kid should just rest up for another year and ensure he’s fully recovered!!! (#DeesNGApick)
  19. I like it. Pace and some skills. Hoping he can get his body into great shape. With Choco as well guiding his development. He’d be a handy addition. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/trent-burgoyne/
  20. Lingers new hairstyle Clarry ultra shaved sides with mullet (thank goodness he’s a LEGEND FOOTBALLER)
  21. Good luck Sauce. He’s a quality young bloke that was behind too many good players. Simply too good for VFL and needs a chance.
  22. This kid Verrall looks like the type to develop over the next 2-3 years. I like his size and ability win the footy. Not just a tap ruckman. His highlights show a good footy brain as well. Hope we can keep him interested and happy whilst maybe not getting a MFC game. Interesting to see if he gets his body built up that we might have him get a few development games to allow a rest either for Grundy / Gawn later in the campaign around rounds 18-20.
  23. Really surprised this kid didn’t get drafted. He looked good in national championships for Vic Country. He’s from Maffra and like to see him given a chance at Casey. Youngsters with pace to break lines are a good asset for any team. Dees will need to look for more midfield pace in the next draft imv.
