Who missed out in the drafts?
Really surprised this kid didn’t get drafted. He looked good in national championships for Vic Country. He’s from Maffra and like to see him given a chance at Casey. Youngsters with pace to break lines are a good asset for any team. Dees will need to look for more midfield pace in the next draft imv.

Jumper numbers for season 2023?
Ok. I didn’t read anywhere that MFC had already had numbers allocated.

Jumper numbers for season 2023?
Yes it’s the annual “guess what number the new recruits will be wearing”? Available numbers 2, 6, 12, 19, 26, 28,29,33, 38, 39 recruits Grundy, Hunter, Schache, Jefferson, Adams, Verrall, Sestan, Farris-White. with Chandler getting promoted to the senior list, he might be “upgraded” to a lower number will Moniz-Wakefield get a lower number. I’d like to think so

2022 AFL NATIONAL ROOKIE DRAFT
Talent and needs fulfilled. Certainly put in place the succession planning across ruck, key forward and key defence with youngsters Verrell, Jefferson and Adams. I think Sestan was just that wildcard who was too good to pass up. Raw ability and different pathway than the standard NAB League. Like to see more Mids with pace next year in the draft with our picks. Two 1st rounders should get JT a nice bounty once again. JT 🥇

Welcome to Demonland Will Verrall
Some very impressive ruckwork here. Could be a very good rookie and time to develop without risking him too early.

Casey Demons off season
@Whispering_Jackhave to invite these two lads down to Casey for 2023. Unlucky not to be drafted but would be great additions to our premiership squad. Szybkowski wins plenty of the footy but needs to work on his defensive game. Schuback is an elite ball user and has the speed to break lines across wing and half back. Mitch Szybkowski Position: Midfielder State: Victoria Country State League Club: Dandenong Stingrays Community Club: Beaconsfield Date of Birth: 09/01/04 Height: 186cm Weight: 86kg Jonti Schuback Position: Medium Defender State: Victoria Country State League Club: Gippsland Power Community Club: Maffra Date of Birth: 18/03/04 Height: 183cm Weight: 75kg

Welcome to Demonland Will Verrall
He’s a giant and not unlike a Luke Jackson type of kid.

Welcome to Demonland Will Verrall
Yes. That’s a good pick. Plenty of time to develop

Welcome to Demonland Jed Adams
Beverley Hillbillies theme song updated Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed Well the first thing you know ol Jed's got drafted Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there" Said "Melbourne is the place you ought to be" So they loaded up the truck and moved to Casey”.

Welcome to Demonland Jed Adams
He’s a big strong lad. Just needs to get his body right. Certainly a good mark and looks to be a key defender in the making.

2022 AFL NATIONAL ROOKIE DRAFT
2022 Draft Prospects Jonti Schuback Teams Vic Country/Gippsland Power Position Defender Date of Birth 18/03/2004 Height 183cm Weight 75kg A medium defender with composure, elite decision-making and precise kicking to set up the play from midfield or defence. He had a consistent 2022 season, averaging 20 disposals (77 per cent efficiency) across 13 matches for the Gippsland Power, with his speed being a feature of his play. While not father-son eligible, he is the son of Jacob Schuback, who was selected by Adelaide in the 2001 Draft and played seven games for the Crows. Tested very well at the State Draft Combine in Victoria, with his 2.98 seconds for the 20m sprint, 8.3 seconds on the agility test and 6:39 seconds for the 2km time trial all strong performances.

2022 AFL NATIONAL ROOKIE DRAFT
If I had to choose a rookie , I’d definitely try to recruit Jonti Schuback from Gippsland Power. He showed in the national championships that he can use his pace and skill and footy smarts as well as any of the young mids. Schuback can run and deliver, using either right or left foot skills. I’m amazed he wasn’t drafted. He would fit into our midfield depth and develop. Others who could be on the list Mids Nick Sadler SA Sturt Mitchell Szybkowski Vic-Stingrays Adam D’Aloia SA Woodvill West Torrens Ruck Will Verrell SA Sth Adelaide Forwards Jaiden Magor SA Sth Adelaide Defender Sam Gilbey WA Claremont

Welcome to Demonland Pick 37
Thought we’d grab Mitchell. He was available and our pick 38, my choice would have been between Mitchell or Gallagher, or Magor or Gilbey.

DRAFT DAY TWO: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Agree @dazzledavey36 Wanted him in red and blue. I was thinking we’d grab him when our pick came. Loved his ability to side step and deliver in his left foot. Moves with composure with footy in hand. Oh well. Have to put trust in JT.
-
DRAFT DAY TWO: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Absolutely agree. Next year we will have to go for more pace across half back and midfield.
-
DRAFT DAY ONE: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Yes @Lord Travis I agree Kaleb Smith would have to been a name in our list. I prefer a few others but at pick “37” he’d represent a solid choice. Good pace. Good skill.
-
Welcome to Demonland Pick 37
Still some good talented youngsters available I’d be hopeful for any of Brayden George, Jakob Ryan, Olli Hotton or Sam Gilbey but they’ll be likely to be gone. I think we need more running power so maybe youngsters like Jaxon Binns, Coby Burgiel, Harvey Gallagher, Toby McMullin or Caleb Mitchell as a smoky.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
A young raw key position forward. Jefferson takes some good marks and has a simple kicking technique. He drops a few as well and looked awkward in his second efforts. Like a young Max King is how I’d describe Jefferson. We need to be patient. He needs lots of protein shakes, gym work for 3 years and a determination to succeed. Drafting young key forwards is a risky choice. From Cook to Weideman to Hulett, we’ve not been successful. Yet with BBB on one leg and Tmcd on the other side of 33, the outlook for a future of a JVR and Jefferson combo is the opportunity that ultimately looked the deciding motivation for JT.

DRAFT DAY ONE: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Yes maybe they should then compare 11-20 with 21-30 etc. … I think the outcomes are obviously better for lower picks.
-
DRAFT DAY ONE: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Yes we all know, the lower the pick number, the higher chance of success !!!
-
DRAFT DAY ONE: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
🤣🤣Love it. Maybe given all the sudoku numbers flying around after trade and pick swaps, it got too confusing.
-
DRAFT DAY ONE: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Today I’m relaxed. Years ago this was our bright light and our search for a glimmer of hope. But we have our premiership 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆and we have confidence in JT and team to make the right moves.

Phantom Drafts Thread 2022
It’s still likely to have 1- GWS :Cadman 2- Lions (f/son) Ashcroft 3- Kangas : Sheezel 4- Kangas : Wardlaw 5- Bombers : Tsatas 6- Suns: Ginbey 7 - Hawks : Phillipou 8- Cats: Clark 9- Eagles: Busslinger 10- Saints: Mckenzie 11- Carlton: Humphrey 12- Bulldogs: Hollands 13 - Eagles: Allan 14- Dees… leaves us with a likely Hewitt or Jefferson choice. (we should bid on Davey or Fletcher if no other clubs have pushed that button) . I’d prefer Phillipou, Hollands or Allan but I’m thinking they’ll definitely be gone by our pick. The media have us in line for pick swaps I love our aggressive approach and creative look at the draft process. If we tempted the Bombers, Tsatas would be a huge win even if we gave up 2-3 picks to land him. Pick swaps to grab 19-22? … I’d see us definitely looking at Brayden George or Max Gruzewski at this pick. Either would be great additions although we’d have to wait on George until 2024. Dees seemed to be rumoured to be looking at Jakob Ryan as a speedy rebounding half back. Others at this pick would be Jaiden Major or Jakob Konstanty if available. Pick 37 may be part of pick swaps or unused. If it sits “as is”, then with pick 37 we’d have a look at Harry Lemmey (ruck) or running Mids like Jaxon Binns, Harvey Gallagher or Billy Dowling. Each represent very good outside run and skill. Caleb Mitchell from the Bushrangers is my smokie selection.

Dees considering big trade plays
Yes agree. Tough to get the bombers pick 4 which is a premium potential A grader to give up as a selection. GWS might be good to do a pickup swap for a future 2023 (Freo) 1st rounder.
