Closest to the mark...2022 membership total

What is trade period? Let’s just ignore it. I’ve had too many years of hanging out for salvation. Premiership Enlightenment is here and we can enjoy it. Let the miserable pies and blues and Hawks and Roos and Saints and tigers and the others fight for scraps of footy stories and interest!!!

2022 Fixture - We are the Hard Draw!
spirit of norm smith replied to DEE fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hoping we can start to refill the financial coffers as well 1. Round 1 Dees home game. Unfurl the FLAG and the premiership cup. Friday night. Lap of honour for Jetta and Jonesy. V the Hawks. 2. Dees should seek a home game v Tigers and v Magpies outside of QB and Anzac Day which are due for Dees away in 2022. Maybe rounds 21,22 v Tigers and v Magpies as Saturday night fixtures at the MCG. 3. Return of the 2x NT Games given cancellations last year. One game v Port (Alice Springs) round 7 and v Freo (Darwin) round 11 4. two more Friday night home fixtures. V Essendon. V Carlton. Both clubs will be big on the pre season hype and expectations of finals. Dons round 3. Blues round 10. 5. Hope we play Tigers, Pies, Lions, Port and Giants twice. 6. Round 13. V Suns. @Gold Coast. Mid year Vic School holidays trip to sunny QLD escape. -
Kane Cornes Concerns About Dees in 2021
spirit of norm smith replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have to admit, most of the experts are guess work. They have little inside knowledge. He should have considered our injury problems in the past and how another year of development was going to see us rise up the ladder. -
Signed jumpers for between $2000 to $20,000. That’s crazy $$. I think the players would loved to keep their jumpers. Presumably they did swap at half time.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
What about 16.4 to 1.1. It was magnificent. 45 minutes of footy heaven for us Dees fanatics. Daisy Pearce is a genius. We just needed the next goal to try to seize back some momentum. And we did. And she noted Trac attempt at keeping the ball in play as a sign. But what an avalanche it was. All the way to 🏆🏆🏆glory -
Rendell, Terry Wallace, Lloyd, Robbo, Damien Barrett. Get a bigger tool shed. They are all absolute tools 🛠

I think it will depend on whether Melksham leaves or stays. If he goes, then I think Bedford stays on the list. Melksham would be in decent $$$ after his very good 2018 year.
-
Agreed. He’d take 3-4 years of development and gym work. Dees are perfect fit

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to TRIGON's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dees probably looking at about 4 draftees this year. Mac Andrew is going to be a chance but we will have to see if he goes top 20 and we miss out. Hope we get him in. With our picks starting in the high 30s then through to pick 70 ish range most likely. I’m confident JT and his team will again scout out our needs. Given our current picks and likely midfield depth priorities, I think some names to consider Isaac Birt - South Adelaide wingman. Strong runner and loves a goal. Blake Howes - Sandy Dragons. Athletic wing and half forward. Mitch Knevitt - Geelong Falcons. Tall athletic half forward and onballer. Rhett Bazzo - WA. Taller back with good mark, skills and run. Corey Warner - WA. tall mid with energy at the footy Lewis Rayson - Glenelg SA. Looked good in SAvWA game with run and skills plus good tackle and defensive footy. Sam Banks - Tassie half back. Great skills. Miller Bergman - Stingrays wingman. Running skilled mid. Will Bravo - Stingrays Bull. Cracks in and has pace to clear the contest. father son - Taj Woewodin NGA - Andy Moniz-Wakefield -
Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch

Fantastic year from Bailey 59.24. Great contribution playing as a permanent forward. His Goalkicking accuracy was the key. Had lowest avg disposal count and avg marking count of his career but was so effective and dangerous. Vindication of his forward status and he’s not a half back/winger. -
Absolutely. He was in the premiership celebration, well and truly

List prediction 2022
spirit of norm smith replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 changes for me. retirement. Jones. Jetta delisted. Vdberg. Lockhart. Nietschke (r) Bradtke (cat b) Melksham Like him to stay but understand why we is chasing opportunities and perhaps a longer contract Bring in youngsters like Andrew, Banks, Rayson, Woewodin , Reyson, Moniz-Wakefield. -
Majak Dawn set to sign on for 2022.

Good backup. Physically ready in case of emergency. And no $$$ salary cap impact. Smart move. -
Post-premiership draft priorities
spirit of norm smith replied to Vipercrunch's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’m still keen on youngsters with pace to compliment our strong midfield bulls. Some names include Isaac Birt and Will Bravo. I think we have most roles covered right now. BUT WE CANT BE COMPLACENT!! -
Jake was unlucky not to be in the premiership team. Spargo kept on performing and just held his spot week after week. I think Jake is looking for opportunities and a 3-year contract. Dees probably would cut his dollars in his next contract at the end of 2022. I would like to see Dees retain him but understand why he is looking elsewhere.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Loved his finals series and really cemented his place in the team. Strong at the footy. Good tackler. Loved his composure. Kicked some key goals including the one on the 3rd quarter of the GF during the goal avalanche.- 164 replies

Mitch Brown Signs on for 2022
spirit of norm smith replied to wheaters31's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree to keep Mitch for another year. Break glass in case of emergency. Clearly we don’t see any other key position players available through draft , trade or free agency. -
Jack Viney not being loved enough?
spirit of norm smith replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jack Viney was a key player in our last win plus the 3 finals. He is the heart and soul of our strong midfield alongside Trac and Clarry. He has red and blue blood running through his veins. Champion player. Champion bloke. -
Darren Burgess Being Poached
spirit of norm smith replied to PartyTimeJohnny's topic in Melbourne Demons
Big loss. Thank you Burgo for helping deliver the premiership. -
I have faith that the Dees will manage it. Salary cap impact is felt more for players like Melksham might have to take a pay cut on his next contract cycle. He’s probably looking for opportunities plus longer term and $$$ to be maintained.
