  1. I'm happy to see Carlton continuously fail bunch of cheats! Judd and Carrazzo are now wearing out, they have no key forwards, Hampson and Waite are always injured and Betts and Garlett are down hill skiers of Carltons forward line. Gibbs and Kruzer are the most overrated players in the comp. Jamieson is an honest defender , Yarran is good when he wants to be he has commitment issues. Robbie Warnock has done complete JACK ALL, I can't believe he demanded big bucks just for him to play mostly in the 2s, so glad we didn't get him! Happy to see some karma hit the [censored] McLean and his arrogant mouth. Even if Carlton got rid of a few players to get Dale Thomas it won't make too much of a difference to their line up or even up forward for that matter. I still believe Malthouse is coaching to get back at Eddie rather than for the passion to coach the blues and if they fail to make the finals next year Malthouse won't get a contract extension
  2. I think having Eade as senior coach whom is known to be a great motivating coach and Neil Craig as a player development coach could work real well with our young list. Also having maybe a succession plan after say 5-6 years with a cam ling or James McDonald to take over. I think unless Craig gets us to winning nearly every game he may get a look in but we are better off getting a quality coaching panel! Thoughts?
  3. Lynden Dunn gee he is a liability he always gives silly free kicks away and has poor disposal and decision making skills move him on at seasons end
  4. Assuming we gain a priority pick and we have picks 2 and 3 do we put 1 pick on the table for a gun afl midfielder like Dale Thomas or do we put both pcks on the table since we are in desperate need of 2 gun AFL mids???
  5. With new coach, coaching staff and board for 2014 it would only seem imnent to take the Captaincy of both Grimes and Trengove and just let them learn there trade and develop into quality players. They clearly arent coping with the burden of the captaincy well so Jones Captain and Dawes Vice would seem a much better fit? Leadership 2014: Jones- Captain Dawes- Vice Clark Frawley Garland
  6. I'm agreeing with most people in regard to Eade, he did exceptionally well at both Sydney and Bulldogs both clubs were very cashed strapped and less rescoured than us, Eade is a great motivator and a great peoples person, would be a great fit for this club. Ayres on the other would also be a great fit for us too another Allan Jeans pupil, having a good winning rate a both Geelong and Adelaide and seems to have done an exceptional at Port Melbourne. Both of these guys have been involved in a powerhouse club in the 1980s playing in grand finals and premierships!! Not too keen on Matthews now he hasn't coached since 2008 and these days you must still be in the coaching system to have a chance, he is far better now as just a mentor! Worsfold doesn't appeal too much, I know he got the Eagles to the 2006 flag but that still seems a very tainted premiership with some of their stars. He has also coached some ordinary eagles lineups in recent times finishing near the bottom doesn't really comes across as a great motivator either! Harvey/Ratten, Simple NO. Just don't have enough runs on the board to qualify for our needs they just seem to be good assistants! My whishlist: Eade Ayres Williams!
  7. Yes I believe some people badly overrate Dunn, Bail, Strauss, Sellar. All have very ordinary disposal skills and don't get enough of the footy. Melbournes development no doubt has got something to do with it.
  8. It's a bit alarming when the entire Essendon playing group didn't respect Knights back in 2010!
  9. Would much rather Ayres over Knights
  10. Channel 7 saying matty knights could be a chance! Hell no!
  11. Dawes and Byrnes are still playing, Brown and Mahoney were just players lucky enough to end up playing in a grand final and a bonus to win a premiership with their respective sides. Nearly all the quality coaches have been quality players in their day!
  12. Interesting little observation, nearly all the top sides coaches and quality coaches have all played in a flag in there playing days, aside from Mark Williams, Paul Roos, Rodney Eade and Alistair Clarkson. Malthouse played in richmonds 1980 flag, Matthews played in Hawthorns 76, 78 and 83 flags Longmirue played in Norths 96 and 99 Sheedy Richmond 67, 73, 74 Eade Hawthorn 78, 83, 86 Worsfold 92,94 Obviously goes to show how much it helps having someone who was from that experience of being in a successful era and winning a flag. Daniher, Bailey, and Neeld. Daniher obviously never played in a flag at Essendon but was a good player until injured, but Bailey and Neeld weren't much!
  13. Names not Caroine there are no rumours just some hard facts
  14. Well Paul think about this If you we're a tradesman and your boss/ foreman let 2 young Apprentices started telling you what to I'm pretty sure you would be [censored] off. I would be! I'm sure thats how the likes of Moloney, Rivers, Green, Jamar all felt about there demotion? Though they may not have been A grade players in the comp they were still ver capable players, they didn't want to play for Neeld after the way he treated them. Moloney was a gun in 2011 won the BNF and polled exceptionally well in the Brownlow, Jamar and Frawley in 2010 were All Australians, Rivers was close as well! Now most of our players seemed to have gone backwards under Neeld! He has made some silly decisions!
  15. I've touched on this before, I watched the coaches office on melbournefc.com.au this week and Robbo asked Neeld about how he is travelling in regards to all the scrutiny and Neeld said he has a contract until the end of 2014 and he bluntly said he intends to hold up his end of the deal, basically stating "I'm not Quiting and your going to have to sack me if you are to remove me as senior coach". The guy has dug his own grave with the way he treated the leadership group and some of the other recruiting decisions he and his staff have made. Neeld would no doubt know that the Melbourne members and supporters are outraged at him with some of his decisions he has made, coupled with poor on field performances. He must also get a strong vibe that the Peter Jackson and the entire board are running out of patience with him. When Neeld said I need 5 years to fix this I thought and sure most others thought you have made the situation 10 times worse. In 2010 and 2011 we won about 8 - 9 games a year and building. No doubt we needed extra help in areas, but now he has destroyed what foundations where in place to a point where it sets us back further. Instead he should have back a few of the senior boys and built on what we had and I highly doubt we would be in this basket case situation AGAIN! So Mark the MFC isn't rolling in cash do the right thing pack up your office hand in your resignation, because Dees supporters and players deserve better!!
  16. As bad and I hate saying this I just hope Hawthorn beat us by a minimum of 80 points, I just want Neeld gone by Monday to end this madness at least for now. I don't want him coaching at the Pies game. I hate Hawthorn with a passion and I always want the dees every week to have a red hot dip but I don't want them to take it easy on us because people feel sorry for us! Neeld should just do the right thing and resign after this game so the club doesn't have to pay the guy out. He created a big part of this mess he should just do the club and himself a massive favour
  17. Not keen on Laidley I know he had limited resources at North Melbourne but overall his tenure there was nothing flash. Matthews has been out of coaching for too long, the game changes so quickly since 2008 so not an option. We are better off targeting Eade and Williams both are still in the coaching system, both have the runs on the board! Eade- 5 Played Grand FInals, 4 Premierships, Coached at the time a basket case Sydney to a Grand Final and FInals series, Turned the Bulldogs into 3 Preliminary Finals, just missing out on a granny in all of them Williams- Played in the Pies 1990 Flag, coached Port to numerous finals series, a couple of pre season cups, coached port to the 2004 premiership 2007 grand final. Looks a bit more impressive than Laidleys cv
  18. Yep absolutely noway to an untried coach we simply don't have time anymore experience or the highway
  19. Williams and Eade would have to be realistic targets but no way to Denis Pagan Matthew Knights and any other inexperienced coach
  20. Neeld should just resign salvage his reputation a bit and for the benefit of his family too. Then we can all take a deep breath and get on with it
  21. The difference is in nearly 2 years of his coaching our players have somewhat seemed to have gone backwards badly, you dont just lose your potential and talent in the space of a year or so!! The players clearly do respect him or his philosophy's.
  22. As we all know what the club so desperately needs a figured head, no only for the on field sake but for the corporates and sponsors. A bit of strange controversy in a good sense needs to be bought to the club. We for the last 50 years have portrayed a very dull boring feel around the MFC. I wonder how different things would have been back in 2007 if Kevin Sheedy was appointed coach? Not just on field but off? The next coach almost must have a flag or 2 next to their names weather it be playing or coaching and must be a good mentor, firm on players and expectations. Our dream coach would no doubt have to be Clarkson but, I struggle to see why he would want to leave the hawks. Realistically our candidates are: Paul Roos, Mark Williams, Rodney Eade and possibly Brett Ratten! Mark Williams appears to be the best candidate having played in the collingwood 1990 flag, coached port to 2004 flag, 2007 grand final and numerous other finals series
  23. These next 3 games freo, hawks and pies will spell the end for Neeld the board will force him to resign as coach following 3 massive losses. Do himself and us as supporters a favour and leave, so we can all take a breath and get on with it
  24. Yep Dunn tries to [censored] opposition players off yet has that many turnovers which is killing. Daniel Nicholson must get the arse at seasons end this bloke constantly gets beaten by his opponent and and poor turnovers
  25. Whatever we do we must not trade for picks! End of story! Target seasoned players like Rich, Prestia etc.
