What have they got to offer???????? Um........ Not much. all there players are old.
-
Geelong only doing this because they know Dees can offer Boak a much better deal in terms of money and Port would want to deal with Dees because of what we can offer. Same goes with Caddy!!!
-
Beams is very similar to Boak in the sense they both are smart players and can spread. Even though our midfield is probably the worst in the comp, we have got some talent like Jones, Trengove, Blease and Gysberts. If you add Boak/Beams plus Viney and hopefully we can land some speed players into the mix our future looks brighter
-
I can handle pick 4 for Boak/Beams they are exactly what we need and we need quality experience urgently!!!!
-
That sounds pretty stupid, highly doubt Port would let Boak go for that both our picks will be higher than theirs. Plus Boak would earn bigger coin at Melbourne than Geelong. If we want class we must give up something Melbourne must stop being tight and get the best.
-
Agree with daisy cutter, before Dangerfield signed with the crows he was headed too Geelong and Menzel to crows according to Lloyd?????? Bartrams dad only passed 2 years ago. Whoever offers the best coin and trade will be in the box seat for Boak. MFC have been obviously disccusing possible trade scenarios with port as stated in th Herald Sun..... I highly doubt if Boak lives in Melbourne he will get homesick only being an hour away from Geelong
-
Exactly Matthew Lloyd started this crap about wanting to go to Geelong just because his from that way. Boak would be happy to be in Victoria, if the MFC offer him a big contract im sure he would get excited about some big coin, more than what the cats could offer. Clint Bartram is good mates with Boak.........
-
Beams or Boak??? Burning question We are no doubt going to have to give up something big for 1 of them. I could handle giving up pick 4 for 1 of them. Pick 13 would be better but teams will more likely want our pick 4. Wouldn't Mind Boak, Sewell, Viney and may be a Reimers or Shannon Byrnes in the off season!!! October-November cant come quick enough
-
Whats with Trent West??????? You don't need a top ruck man more so top midfielders so no way
-
I have no issues with us taking Viney at 3 if he is rated as a top 5 pick. MFC are playing mind games with GWS and GC. Beams or Boak with pick 4 i would be ok with. Both are at the right age and experience which is what we really need the right mixture of experience and highly talented mids through the midfield. I'm of the belief the club wants a few more experienced players on the list. Players who struggle to get a game at one of the higher clubs because of there success of the current 22. Get the right balance
-
Both would be great can we make it happen
-
Fair point Cloke and Dawes combo isn't really working this season in 2010 it was. They have had Blyar, Sidebottom and Fasolo giving them goals along with cloke Dawes has only kicked 9 for the year at full forward!!! We could really use another crumbing/ mid sized forward too. But invest in a real serious engine room!!!!
-
Tim Harringtion says in an article on the AFL site that the club may part with one of its compensation picks, if right trade come available - Demons may trade early pick! I get the feeling they are going hammer and tongs at Travis Boak. Having thought about it i think we would better with him instead of Cloke. You only need 1 big forward these days and we need a top line midfield. I'd pefer if we parted with pick 12 maybe a player!!! GO DEES
-
Self exploding doom sayer supporters!!!!! PPL must realise is we currently have no forward line which isnt going to win many if any games and we have the worst centreline in the comp. So some deluded person tell me how we are going to win games with mostly average players and players who are extremley underdone. Also someone tell me do we have a handful of Swans, Pendleburys Beams or Cotchins Martins Foleys on our list???????........... NO!!!!! Agreed we certainly could of done better with recruiting since 2007-2011, but that is in the past we cant change that. Neeld does not have the access to those calibre players which makes his gameplan seem easier to carry out. Neeld knows that. Neeld also knows who has got it and who hasn't, there will be changes no doubt. If you think the on-field club performance and culture can be changed in 6 months or so? You need to wake up and smell the bees, cuz that sure as hell wontt happen in that time. You can't turn pig crap into strawberry jam.
-
Dont forget whilst our midfield this season has been underperforming at some stages badly we still have some talent come through with Blease, Gysberts, Taggart, Couch. We really need some speedsters in the line up that can break the lines through the middle. If Neeld and the club want Boak? Get Him. We need more blokes at that 25 age group who can play. Neeld said they are targeting more mature blokes this year.
-
sounds good to me
-
Bucks on footy classified said players who want more coin will be forced out of collingwood at seasons end. O'Brien, Wellingham, Cloke, Goldsack and Beams. And apprentley Cloke contract talks have taken a backward step atm. Of course most will stay, but im sure Neeld and co will be looking at someone at seaons end. Well i hope so!!!
-
lol not since last night i would love to buy those guys who made those singns and the scully money bags a cold beer. If this was Collingwood Carlton Essendon or Richmond, the what do the exact same thing. Collingwood what eat him for breakfest

On the way to work this morning on gold Tony Jones, Bridge Declous and that Lehmo [censored] from before the game getting stuck into dees supporters for booing Scully. Tony Jones labelled us losers of the weekends games and bridge and lehmo said all melbourne supporters need leave Tom Scully alone, get a life and say we should applaud Tom Scully next time. HELL NO!!!! I for one was pleased so many dees fans gave him hell yesterday, he deserved everyting he got. Jimmy would not be blaming us for yesterday, he as well was furious when Scully decieved and lied to all supporters and a dying mans face. Cowardly [censored]. Yesterday i saw a change. For too long we have just sat back being nice and coped it. If we can show that sort of passion and disgust against certain issues we as a club are on the right track to becoming good. Keep the passion people, love it!!!! As for Sheedy..... pfffff...... he is still sooking about not getting the job back in 2007, i think he needs to get over it its only been 6 years. Silly old bugger. KEEP THE PASSION PEOPLE ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT. GO DEES!!!!!
-
Yeah pick 4 might be a bit rich pick 12 and a player fair.
-
DONE!!! We need quick, classy mids
-
Saw on Channel 7 this morning Harry O'Brien, Travis Cloke, Sharrod Wellingham, and Dayne Beams all out of contract at seasons end. They are struggling to afford Cloke, O'Brien will stay but i would love Beams or Wellingham at MFC next year. Probably Beams cuz, he can play both inside mid or outside mid and i'm sure Neeld would to. I would give up pick 12 and a player for him.
-
Tough one both we could get would be sensational but we can only have 1. Cloke 25, big gurellia, has a motor as a CHF, Clark and Cloke would make a great combo with assistance of lighting quick Jurrah and High flying Howe would be exactly what Neeld needs Colin S Otherside- Boak 23, Classy mid, Kicks goals also what we desperatley need to add to our centreline. Fore me Cloke gets the Nod. Why? Hawthorn have Franklin and Roughead who create alot of headaches for opposition defences and ours could create that sort of havoc with Clark and Cloke plus a fit Jurrah really excites. Boak whilst a real classy mid which i know we have been screaming out for all season, seems to go missing at times ala Colin Sylvia which isn't up our ally also coupled with the emergence of Blease and a fit Gysberts, Trengove and Jack Viney and some high picks in the draft, we give our selfs more opportunity for depth. Only time will tell. Beams would be great but wont leave Collingwood and Caddy doesnt do enogh for me.
-
Agreed oppositon players have innterupted pre seasons but still work hard and play well. Sylvia is one player who is part of mediocre players who we dont need. Bomber Thompson said essendon would take him. I would happily swap him for a Brent Prismall. I know he has had his knee problems but he can get the ball and as a experienced fringe player would be helpful to our younger mids. Unfortunatley not much currency for Sylvia!!!
-
i know this has been talked about a million times, but Col is now 26, been at the club since 2003, played a few blinder games a season but always goes missing when we need his talents to kick in. I have always been a fan of his but we can't have this anymore. Not at 26. Time to put him on the table and swap him. His inconsistenceys are exactly what the club does not need and im sure Neeld knows that. At seasons end time to make big investments in some topline mids through both the draft and trade. Go hell for leather. Throw money at some awesome mids not really Cloke. That is where the game is won and lost always will be. Our midfield has some good ones that will take us into the next decade, but we so desperatley need those complete package mids in our team. Looking at Collingwood today there Big investments in Swan, Beams, Wellingham, Fasolo, Thomas, Blair whilst missing Ball and Pendlebury. Even Richmond with Deledio, Cotchin, Martin, Foley and Grigg. Go Figure
