  1. It's really strange that Toumpas has also lost the pace he used to have
  2. I want to see Trenners concentrate on his attacking side, we know he can tackle and all that, we need him having 30 touches in games and being damaging with ball in hand, he has the potential to be a complete elite midfielder, he just needs to put it all together.
  3. Trenners dropped. I reckon this is well overdue, but a great move.
  4. All i had been hearing was he was training really strongly, trained with the main group, was probably right for seniors but wanted him to have a week in the 2's and boom he's not named at all lol
  5. I reckon ENYAW's woes could be in his head.
  6. Yeah i agree, Tyson alone i reckon is worth Kelly on what i have seen, anything Salem does is a bonus, the beauty of which is there are no expectations, he can just take his time and develop, like Toumpas should also be doing
  7. I am really keen to see Viney and Tyson together, Viney will shine so much more this year than he did last year now that he has some support, i reckon he is an absolute star in the making as is Tyson
  8. I hope Jack Viney has a belter this week, then we can get the only comparison that actually works going, Wines vs Viney
  9. I hope trenners does play VFL might be good for him to dominate and remember what that's like
  10. I would think Roosy would be smart enough to see he is playing his role, perhaps just feels he needs to dominate a couple of games at casey and get some confidence up.
  11. I find it kind of funny that we have struggled to score, so in response we drop a bloke who has kicked 20% of our scores
  12. Trengove should have been dropped before Jimmy.
  13. The nature of AFL is that you are not in play 100% of the time, if you run up and back harder than your opponent, them slacking off for even a second affords you the time and space you need, with quality disposal that is all you need, Nick Rewoldt burns defenders off him because he is a far better endurance athlete, a player who has a powerful endurance base, you're describing an explosive athlete, someone who can use an explosive first few steps to get a bit of space, this looks great, but it's not the only way to be a quality outside player, i could make a list of good players that lack this. it's simply about picking your moment and running to the right spots, speed or not is irrelevant if your endurance levels are stronger than your opponent you will find space because they won't be able to go with you.
  14. No it means you run further and push harder than others, when they stop you keep going, that's endurance and has absolutely nothing to do with acceleration. Scott Pendelbury is a perfect example, he isn't fast but is damaging in space and is smart enough to find/make it.
  15. Or you need smarts, or simply to run harder, it's certainly not a case of if you aren't quick you simply won't make it as an elite mid.
  16. All three would need to produce their absolute best form consistently to have any chance of hanging on,
  17. I disagree, he needs to find space and be damaging in it to be an outside mid, his kicking will make him damaging it's just about finding space enough to get 30+ touches per game, atm he averages 17 as a forward and has proven a capable goal kicker, if he does that through being quick or through being intelligent is totally irrelevant
  18. pace isn't the issue, it's if he has developed the tank to play that role, he's a smart footballer so he will find space, for now his average as a half forward is fine
  19. It's almost shocking how bad some have been, Sam Blease and James Strauss should have been Luke Shuey and David Zaharakis Jamie Benell could have been steven Motlop Jordan Gysberts and Luke Tapscott could have been Mitch Duncan and Jack Gunstan Lucas cook - Jack Darling the worst imo - Cale Morton- Patrick Dangerfield, Cyril Rioli, Ben Mcevoy, Harry Taylor, Callan Ward
  20. I agree, but if we choose to pay someone like Bomber, we have to get the person right, that sort of money involved we get one try, although based on our performances it might be that way anyway i reckon Roosy took the job because he saw the comparison to fitzroy and desperately wanted to avoid that happening again.
  21. we don't have a player on our list who is going to step up at a critical moment and swing a game our way, Jones, Garland, Dunn are honest hard workers but they aren't going to break a game open and win it for you, Jack Viney and Jesse Hogan have the potential to be that though i think
  22. Left field idea... Luke Power, 3 time premiership player, played under Leigh mathews, playing assistant/assistant for 2 years under Sheedy and potentially 2 years under Roosy
  23. Different forms of leadership, it's not, you either lead by example or you aren't a leader, Clark, when he's at the club is a great leader, always revving the boys up and doing the little things Garland is another fantastic leader Grimes and Trengove not so much i don't believe, Frawley probably is a good leader, but his mind is elsewhere Lynden Dunn i reckon is a great leader.
