when you have as many top 5 picks as us and haven't got a superstar you know something is going wrong.
-
I can't for the life of me understand why Trengove especially was made captain if not for a PR stunt, Jones, Moloney, Davey, Garland, Rivers, Frawley, Clark should have all been ahead of both
-
Sydney have Tim membery who was a really highly rated Young key forward a couple of years ago who can't crack a run behind Franklin, Tippett and Reid, reckon he's wroth consideration as it wouldn't cost us much.
-
Dangers under contract, i reckon he'd have to basically say either let me go now or i'll go next year for nothing, Fyfe i seriously doubt will leave freo and Patton is very young, we almost get the same value drafting Wright, little bit extra experience but patton is also injury prone but wait and see what picks we have, we might yet come good
-
I like this team, I reckon Howe adds another dimension to the backline in terms of intercept marking and run, good bit of grunt around the ball which is where i reckon we can expose carlton. the only changes i'd make is i'd start Viney on the ball and Mckenzie on the bench, would like to see a really physical opening couple of minutes because i reckon the blues aren't great at that side of the game, and Dunn and Dawes to swap, i reckon Dunn and Vince are the two that if we can't get a mark inside 50 they can have a ping from outside and you'd be confident they will land a good amount of attempts, again another dimension to the team
-
I really liked the way Hawthorn approached their development when they were up and coming " the anti social hawks" when your core group is Nathan Jones, Jack Viney, Jesse Hogan, Chris Dawes, James Frawley, and so on we need to hit in hard, the sooner we are hated by every other team the sooner we know we are on the right track
-
If Eddie Betts gets paid 600k to move, Dale Thomas gets 700 k to move Chip frawley could get 800k
-
I get the hype on Hogan, it's justified, if i got offered the trade today, Jesse Hogan for Nat Fyfe i'd take it, Nat is a proven superstar of the Game, Jesse Hogan has not played a serious game of AFL yet
-
Vince and Clisby are certainly keen on the idea, i believe Tex had a tweet a while ago about being dangerous up front with Dawesy
-
Hawthorn, Fremantle, Adelaide, Gold Coast, GWS and Carlton will all offer the 800k for Frawley if push comes to shove because Key backs of that quality don't grow on trees
-
I can tell you with absolute certainty, if we finish last PJ will ferociously fight for PP1 with a huge argument that we should get it, if Frawley leaves i reckon it's nearly certain
-
The thing about forcing us to trade it is that we have to get something for it, it almost puts the other clubs in a position of power, i'd like to see the rule being we'd have to make a genuine effort to trade it but if a good deal didn't come up we could then take it to the draft, really for pick 1 you'd be wanting 1 or 2 good players, not every team is going to offer that.
-
Tom Mcdonald has also put talks on hold, we need to keep one of him or Chip if we can
-
It was on one of those stupid facebook rumour sites
-
He's a fantastic shut down defender, never seen anyone have the wood over blokes like Jack Rewloldt so consistantly, His skills leave alot to be desired, his decision making and leadership are lacking but i think the club contributes to that as much as anything. he'd be a loss, but to me it seems he has made his decision already, i just can't see how we are going to retain him on current form.
-
at 203 cm at 100 plus kg i reckon he is the perfect forward/ruck
-
I reckon Patton is the one, talk he might come back to vic last year, Boyd knocking on the door, a few extra dollars a year and the chance to come home to vic might entice him
-
we didn't get done by 150 points, that's something, trying to look for positives geez haha
-
Carltons list isn't fantastic imo, Mick Malthouse has had two cracks at the trade and free agency period and not managed to recruit one key position player, despite that being the obvious glaring hole in the team They needed to push very hard for Boyd last year, and i believe if this year continues the way it's going they may be a team we deal with if we trade a high pick later given all the top end key position players.
-
Against the saints we were the better side, just didn't finish, if we did it would have been a 5 goal win, against the eagles we battled hard but were heavily out classed, beaten in the ruck and we had noone capable of kicking multiple goals but that result last year would have been 120,130 points i reckon, and against GWS, even one of our key forwards, and no brain fade last quarter and we were around the mark we could beat Carlton, especially if we get Jamar, Dawes and Garland back.
-
PJ might offer him an extra 100k a year if he gives him some of the excess hair to transplant onto his head.
-
IF we get more top end picks as it is looking at the minute i reckon we need to go to the draft with a narrow focus. if we go for mids they must tackle and win the contested ball, the need to be ready to go impact players, better to get a side of those and add outside types later.
-
Probably abit off topic but one of those facebook rumour pages is saying Fyfe is open to moving and we and GWS are throwing the kitchen sink at them, if this is true surely they'd demand hogan or something stupid in return
-
Wright would be a great replacement for clark, 203 cm and still growing and over 100 kg pick 2 Angus Brayshaw is a good mid pick 3 McCartin is another Jesse Hogan type forward, this is the pick i'd look to trade
-
I reckon PJ should go to the AFL with an emergency rebuild plan, this list is going nowhere, we agree to change over via, trade or delist 30 players at the end of the year, and we get draft concessions that we would most likely get anyway, picks 1,2,3,19, we get a mini draft incentive, and some extra late first round and early second round picks on the condition we trade 70% of them, this incentive and a good recruiting team should have us a significantly better side in 2015 which is in the best interests of everyone.
