Haha wish upon a star i suppose Rjay, i really think we need to try and get our hands on someone with superstar potential, and the only way that happens for us is paying overs or waiting and developing Tyson, Salem, Viney, Hogan, Toumpas and hoping one lives up to their hype
-
if he leaves on the 800k being floated we'd get band 1 compensation which is the pick immediately after our first pick, if that's pick 1 we get pick 2
-
It depends, Dangerfield is almost 2 years from being out of contract and already put talks on hold, if by the end of this year the crows feel he may leave as a free agent they might see an opportunity to get a really high draft pick as better than the risk of no compo at all the next year if he leaves. Wines is a victorian boy, best mates with Jack, strong ties to the viney family, a big pay rise and the opportunity to come home would get his attention i think, it doesn't hurt to make the phone call, we need these sorts of players to improve
-
if he gets offered 800k by a premiership contender i seriously doubt he is going to stay, i can't see us paying more than 800k to hang onto him.
-
Hawthorn will pay 800 k if it means they get Chip, so will Freo, don't kid yourselves into thinking noone is going to pay that much, the Suns and Crows would even pay that.
-
I'd offer pick 3 for Wines, give him a pay rise, if they feel he is going to walk at the end of his contract, a young SA defender ranked so highly might just get their attention pick 2 for Dangerfield, if we offer overs and the crows feel he is going to walk anyway then they might see pick 2 as better than the compo if any next year pick 1,19 and Jeremy Howe for Trelor and Patton? long shot but couldn't hurt to ask, they get a key forward, a versatile forward target who is great for marketing which they need and a good pick, they will then have Cameron, Wright and Boyd as well as Howe and pick 19
-
show me one good example of james frawley leading from the front in the last two years, or even something to balance the negative effect his actions of the last two weeks have provided.
-
I'd argue Colin Garland has improved also
-
watch that errors video on this thread, half of the really bad errors are frawley. all in one game he had a few errors that directly cost goals
-
Wow frosty, credit where credit is due, like most of us you post some interesting stuff, but i couldn't agree more with this
-
It's a discussion forum, if a team hasn't won a game in 8 years hardly then of course you are going to discuss the worst possible outcomes at times, i don't see who we are going to be able to beat based on our current form.
-
why head in the clouds, if we don't win a game, which is a real possibility based on how we are playing PJ and PR will certainly apply for a Priority pick, we will already have pick 1 which would become two and the compo from frawley would be independent because we lost a player to get it picks 1, 2 and 3
-
A little optimistic, but Dangerfield sees 1.3 mil or something to come home to victoria, Adelaide see pick 2 on the table but next year it's maybe pick 12 or 13 as compo, if compo stays in, certainly worth a try for a player of that talent GWS need players they can market, would pick 1, pick 19 and Jeremy Howe snag us Patton and Trelor or one and a good pick or something, Boyd, Patton and Cameron are all going to be million dollar men in a few years i reckon, maybe one would like the idea of getting big money early and Trelor is certainly worth it. and Wines well we'd have to admit we were wrong, but i reckon pick 3 would be a fair trade if Port felt they couldn't keep him, but they would fight tooth and nail either way.
-
Offer Dangerfield, Wines, Trelor and Patton overs to come down we should have picks 1, 2,3 19 and 20 plus Howe, Trengove, Griems whatever to trade to get a good deal done Wines might like the idea of 5 or 6 hundred k to come play with Jack, even if he is contracted, if he wants to walk and a top 3 pick is the carrot Port may feel their hands are tied. Dangerfield for overs, Crows would be stoked to get pick 1 for him as opposed to losing him for a mid first round pick as a free agent next year Trelor and Patton on bigger money might entice them
-
I reckon our top 3 picks should be key position player, i like Angus Brayshaw but i'd be looking at Wright and Brayshaw picks 1 and 2 and McCartin left as fantastic trade bait for a Bulldogs or Saints looking for a key forward or Wright, Durdin and McCartin to sort out our key stocks long term, two key forwards, a key back and Hogan to float between
-
Sounds like Dawes is a decent chance, no idea on Garland or Gawn, and Trenners needs to be dominating at casey before i'd consider him, let him find his spark again
-
that's a good point! i think Josh Mahoney said Mitch stays on our list til the end of the year technically.
-
It's very hard to judge how bad depression is going to hit individual people, really the only thing anyone can do is offer support and run with what the person wants to do, who knows things may improve and he may come back in a year or 2, i reckon he feels he owes the club now
-
Mate, don't even suggest that, last time that idea came up around here the thread got totally hijacked haha ask Stuie, steam was coming out of his ears.
-
All the best with your own illness mate!

Want to get a Rising Star Nomination? Just play Melbourne
Ted Lasso replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
It would be alot easier to develop in the 2's and come into the seniors banging the door down with good form and confidence than saying, you're the saviour of our footy club, cya round 1 -
we played fairly well against Carlton last year yeah? although i think they went abit soft because of old Neeldy
-
doesn't mean much in terms of will he want to go to freo in the future but yeah, i suppose it's something
-
My friend is really good mates with him, she reckons that's just him because i thought the same thing, apparently he loves melbourne and thinks it's alot better than perth, more to do.
