from the 16 second mark to about the 40 second mark is pretty hard to watch as i have been a huge fan of frawley, but that non chase is simply not good enough from a so called leader.

I question his role as a leader when effort related issues arise after he has put contract talks on hold absolutely, 3 minutes into a game he fails to chase, Tom Mcdonald chased and was further away. doesn't think on his feet and allows Roo to kick essentially 3 uncontested goals because Mcdonald couldn't run.. puts his hand up to be a leader of the club, then asks to see the direction before he commits, that just doesn't sit well with me, i understand he wants to make sure we won't stay a basket case, fair enough but he is allowed to set the direction himself, right now i don't feel he is doing that.

I was all for freeman too actually, love the mix of inside grunt and outside pace not unhappy with Salem though Hindsight is a wonderful thing unfortunately

Garland is our best defender by a mile, he can play tall or small, can run off and do damage, is a great leader, smart guy, i reckon he's close to our most important player, and i reckon he has the potential to be a seriously good coach down the track

He is the leader of the backline, Roosy wants him to back himself to do those sorts of things as well as run off and take the game on, he mentioned it in a presser earlier this year absolutely if Tom mcdonald can't run he has the authority to say look i'll take Roo as he's the most dangerous player and you are struggling abit, take the lesser opponent for now, the game was there to be won and in my opinion he missed a trick.

I can admit in all honesty i knew Dunstan was a ready to go type, i had seen a fair bit of him and didn't think he was that special, nothing like a Wines type but he is playing some fantastic footy, i reckon he'll prove a better player than Billings

It's not just one incident, look at the Stkilda game, Tom Mcdonald struggling, Chip frawley the leader of the backline doesn't pro actively think, i should take Roo, he is the match winner, Roo goes bang, bang, bang, that's the difference in the game. he's a gun, we are all fully aware of where he is at but in a cut throat industry, your mind is off the job by 5% and we see some horrible errors, and they're so much worse when they come from a leader.

are you serious? his games have been riddles with skill errors and indecision, but we can cop that because at times noone runs hard enough to give him an option and whatever, that's fine if a leader of the club isn't chasing 3 minutes into an important game, cya later have fun in the 2's in my opinion, we want to be a respected AFL club, one isolated incident FROM A LEADER is not acceptable. I just think if you put your hand up to be in the leadership group of a footy club you can't just turn around and say i wanna see the direction of the club before i commit, as Roosy says culture is player driven, chip has the opportunity to set the direction, right now i don't feel like he is doing that. can you provide one great example of Chip being a leader this year?

They have had plenty of opportunitys to chase key position players and haven't, why they didn't offer a deal for Boyd i have no idea.

Watch the lack of chase early in the game against West coast and tell me his mind isn't elsewhere, if you can't be bothered 3 minutes into a game something is seriously wrong, putting talks on hold is fine, but when he can't be bothered chasing, loses a contest and doesn't even look like he cares, that rubs off on young players and the last thing we want is thinking that's acceptable

It's the leaders job to lead, not to put a bounty on their head after round 3, we don't have enough leaders for the ones we do have to be looking at the door

dead right, the first thing that Roos said when he walked through the door is " culture is player driven, especially by the leaders" Trenners gave up the captaincy because he knew he needed to become a good player, Nathan Jones took it and gave us the captain we deserved, Frawley puts a bounty on his head and says sorry this is too hard.

and they most certainly are judged on the outcomes, look at the Jimmy Toumpas thread and see how much they're being judged. doesn't mean supporters can't like or dislike what they see in young players and talk about that on an open forum.

i agree, but i reckon Brayshaw and Wright are neck in neck, i'd draft both and trade the other pick for a good player, we have a heap of cap room free, offer Adam trelor 600 k a year and see how loyal he is

Well if you take the time to watch the kids play, you can get a feel for their strengths and weaknesses and i'd say salem is the most complete player we have drafted in the last 8 years.

It's not just the Hawks that are chasing hard, the crows, giants, suns are as well that i know of, and the suns would certainly pay 800k for him, i just hope to go we don't try and match it

Yeah, it was in one of the articles on the mfc website i believe, Bomber said just stick to the game plan, change the personel if you have to but hold fast to the game plan, change positions around until you get a spark
