  1. I work for an AFL footy club at the moment and this sort of thing is hilarious, would happen a couple of times a week i reckon, when someone starts a rumour that a bloke has done an injury or wants to leave or something and then you see them out on the track training or in the office and everyone just has a good laugh.
  2. Don't get the sense wada would have any interest in doing anything other than destroying them bb Anyone heard from sanity prevails??
  3. Funniest thing is had ASADA won the case, Essendon would have appealed, now they're acting like wada are out of line for doing the same thing
  4. I can't believe James Hird accused ASADA of destroying evidence of the use of thymomodulin. This bloke seriously thinks he's the centre of the universe and everyone else is out to get him
  5. Some good names in next years free agency pool to try the whole accept the trade now for better value than any compo pick trick
  6. the fact that it is part of some premium deal deeply upsets me, one of the most poorly written articles i have read, he basically blames every other party involved in the situation for the WADA appeal, saying the appeal isn't about new evidence, more about the corruption and there is no way they could trust the AFL tribunal to make the decision
  7. i have mates who follow the TAC cup really closely, and the general opinion was that Salem and Kelly were about neck in neck as the best mids they saw, they thought Freeman had some Dangerfield-like qualities but the other two were silky complete mids, pick 9 i think will prove to be a steal
  8. Ash i am curious, i've never actually had an Essendon supporter who can mount an argument that actually makes me think maybe they have a point, i think alot of demonland and opposition supporters feel the same, it seems to be a lot of suggestions of a conspiracy or believing everything they read in articles what are your thoughts on appealing the joint investigations validity when show cause notices were offered? ( for me the club had said for a long period of time they wanted the truth to come out, answering the show cause notices was that opportunity and they seemed to be desperate to avoid that at all costs, have evidence thrown out on a technicality to avoid having to actually go that far into the process) A club that ran such a significant injections program seemingly having no records or no concrete understanding of what was injected ( to me this just makes them look guilty, there is no way they didn't know/had no records ) the way they have got the media painting WADA/ASADA as the big bad wolf and pushing the pro essendon agenda. i'm really curious to see if you have or have heard a well thought out argument from a bombers supporter
  9. http://m.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/wada-appeal-why-would-world-anti-doping-authority-trust-anyone-involved-with-essendon-investigation-writes-mark-robinson/story-fnp04d70-1227351711986?utm_content=SocialFlow&utm_campaign=EditorialSF&utm_source=HeraldSun&utm_medium=Twitter
  10. I know elements of ASADA's argument were based on the symptoms and results being consistent with TB4 and not with Thymomodulin, i think that in itself is a pretty powerful argument
  11. That is hands down the most bias, ridiculous article i have read in a long time, " some people will argue that insufficient evidence does not mean it didn't happen, this is the argument of the desperate " no mark, that's just fact, ASADA not being able to prove they did it, does not mean for a second that they didn't, ASADA lost the battle but Essendon didn't win, hense the appeal.
  12. I think the players association have a lot to answer for, regardless of the potential use of TB4 in my opinion they have a responsibility to know intimate details of an injection program on the scale of this one. In my opinion they should have been provided updates, detailed records and been kept very much in the loop so they could keep an eye out for the players they either, simply did not know about it, in which case they shouldn't now be slamming WADA for persuing the issue futher or they did know about it, and were given records vindicating the EFC, which clearly did not happen or ASADA would have them or they were flat out lied to by the EFC, they know that's the case and the AFL have told them to keep their mouths shut so players aren't suspended
  13. A world authority determined to get this club should show the players association that maybe there is something pretty serious to this.
  14. Being found innocent would imply Essendon proved they didn't take drugs, imo they have simply not been found guilty
  15. Surely they can't have thought they had gotten away with it?
  16. I wonder if young master Goodwin may feel the need to give evidence to secure his new coaching career if this turns bad?
  17. few AFL officials might be in the firing line if it comes out under oath that anyone was tipped off or told to destroy/tamper with evidence as rumours would suggest.
  18. from day one, the spin has been that Essendon are the misunderstood victims and ASADA are the big bad wolf that's out to get them. now this has reached the world stage, they can't spin this as a personal vendetta the WORLD anti doping agency has them in their crosshairs and that would not be the case if they simply didn't do anything wrong and it's all spin because of politics, we're above that now.
  19. Granted, ruckman can be late bloomers, and Spencer is improving but we really need an imposing ruckman now you only have to look at the difference Mumford made at the Giants
  20. I don't think asadas case was as bad as people say, I just think without the testimony of the two who backed out it was corcumstancial and the AFL tribunal system always had a goal of its own I don't think it will take much to turn this case from bad to very solid
  21. I reckon rev If wada find one player guilty the rest will get the same verdict
  22. I think it's smart by wada, drag it out and keep it in the back of the bombers minds, now it seems to have caught them off guard a little bit
  23. Scary thing is this kid will get a lot stronger and learn how to use his body
  24. Not really on the topic of the ASADA stuff ash but how do you view Hird as a coach? From my perspective his ego gets in the way of common sense at times
