Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 6
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am curious to get opinions on this, what are the expectations of Watts and Toumpas? I feel alot of people judge these blokes because of draft position, expect them to dominate games, for me if Watts leads hard, takes a few grabs, keeps his opponent accountable and impacts the scoreboard he's playing his role Jimmy i just want to see show a willingness to win his own ball, and when he does use it well, we know he's going to run hard, but i want to see him use the ball really well and make his teammates want to get it in his hands, he's more than capable of being damaging by foot. he seems to do alot of unrewarded running at times -
Picket fence does when someone mentions Ollie Wines, so i guess it's fine

Disagree, lacking confidence something fierce but he played extremely well in the first half on the weekend against casey, had a quiet second half because he had a super hard tag put on him. Pigdog imo isn't getting a game this week imo because we are lacking pace and a few times this year that has been exposed, can't have all inside mids because the better teams will carve you up. -
Very much consistent with what he's told my friend, loves the Dees, wants to repay the faith we have shown in him, also well aware of how high we value him, he will be well paid regardless.

Toump was sent to casey with particular areas to work on in his game, it's possible he was always seem as best 22 and the coaches are now satisfied he has improved those areas? -
Not related to the Suns but I really hope we have a mega deal Infront of Dylan Shiel, would be the ideal addition, bar maybe Fyfe i can't see any better options given his age, quality and upside. Pay the coin and get the deal done dees

Michie is stiff, thought he was one of our better players against freo and great against Richmond and broke in on strong form, not a fan of this change -

jimmy, your time is now.

I thought behind Tommy Mac, viney was our best player before his injury, he'd really stepped it up a notch, would have been so handy in the crows game, even against the tigers, a bull like that is perfect for wet weather footy

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
If it was confirmed they had an injection regime like the Essendon football club had, they themselves admitted that it was " experimental" and " walking close to the line" then i think there is absolutely no excuse for not keeping records, and in turn makes them look about as guilty as they possibly could without being caught in the act. -
Ross Lyon is a pretty handy coach, having the best player in the comp probably doesn't hurt either

you can do these things when you're unemployed and have no teeth. -

Another thing to remember is the investment we have made in Jesse is something he's really understanding and respecful of, we gave up picks 3 and 13 for him, flew him back to perth every time he needed to go home, Roosy has visited his family to explain the direction of the club and how much we love having Jesse, we have signed him on an extension well before his contract expired for him to make, and i'm not certain of the figures exactly but next year he's on above 500k per year for a kid who at that stage hadn't played a game. we have put total faith in this kid and Jesse wants to repay that.

Question: WADA choose not to appeal, any reason they can't release some of what they found to the public, say they have felt the public viewed them as being on a witch hunt and wanted to show there was merit in their actions, the damage to the Essendon football clubs reputation would be huge and it would prevent them from essentially getting away with murder -
my friend has told me a few times that Jesse has said he probably wouldn't go back to Perth at all if not for his family, that there is so much more to do in Melbourne, and he loves being in the home of footy, apparently a lot of his mates are over here now anyways, besides Dom sheed who is an Eagles boy, jaeger up at the Suns and David swallow is up there too

Dan Hannebery rumour is based on the fact he is looking to sell his house in Sydney, he insists this isn't because of a potential move back to vic.

Boyd has shown a quarter of us much and is on a mil a year, hogan is already in our top 5 players off the back of 5 games, imagine another 2-3 years time when he's ooc, could easily be the dominant forward of the Comp

Guarantee that is the sort of offer another side will make if we don't. This kid is that good!
-
Shame he didn't get asked about his dust up with mark neeld

7 years at 1.2 mil a year, set him up for life financially, he knows we've invested a ton In him so I'm sure he wants to see this through

I'd love to see the toump come up to AFL level and play a blinder, partially to see this thread explode, but mostly because we desperately need him too!
