I would assume a lot of the appeal of the crows just left with Burgo as well

Correct. picks outside the top 5 in this draft barely even hold the value of a first rounder. it's such a shallow pool and so heavily compromised. It's why the idea of accepting the Crows pick 14 for Trac is so absurd. it's going to be more like pick 19-20 in a weak draft.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I'm curious why Trac has changed his tune about which teams he's open to going to, isn't he super close to his family? is he trying to get away from them by going interstate or is just he's looking at the market and realising the only way he gets to play finals at a team that could have a chance of doing a deal is going interestate?

Seriously though, why would anyone go near Essendon at the moment? haha

Realistic 23 for 2026
For me it's the young guys! i'd love to see Kentfield, Jefferson, Tholstrup, Laurie, Van Rooyen, Windsor, Bowey, Monez Wakefield, Langford, Lindsay, Adams and so on all have huge pre-seasons and lock in spots. I really like our young guys, hopefully especially the key forwards will absolutely thrive in a new system with faster ball movement

High end picks... I'm just keeping Trac kicking and screaming if it's for pick 20 and 22 or something like that the suggestion of Adelaides 2 picks would be a horrible deal for the MFC, it's MASSIVE unders for us considering we have no actual incentive to trade Trac unless it makes us better long term

With you, I'd only be trading Trac if it meant we got high end picks, they took on his whole wage and we planned to throw the kitchen sink at Zak Butters next year. But i mean Steven King has a stated goal of finals, which we're unlikely to achieve without Trac.

Assistant Coaches in 2026
One of my favourite things about Demonland is the posters who know absolutely nothing about a bloke beyond he coached Casey instantly and baselessly writing him off straight away. It's like they live their lives munching on sour grapes.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
In fairness, Goody is absolutely bang on. Goody was so desperate to cash in on 2021 with more flags that he missed the competition flying right past him and into a totally different game style He was a brilliant coach and Melbourne person, someone who deserves nothing but respect from the fans and even since being sacked he's been all class.

One of those things Daz, i am sure if we matched the deal we could have still signed him, but i am pleased the club didn't want to overpay for someone for the sake of a signing, like the Saints have with their entire offseason.

Everything in hearing says the saints will be nominated by Flanders in the coming days. I donโt think we presented badly, theyโre just splashing money we werenโt prepared to match perhaps.

I think if you can get back into the high end of the draft and clear the space you add to the exciting core of young players and free up cash to go after someone like a Zak Butters potentially next year

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
In this draft it's unders, it's not a terrible deal but pick 14 will be pushed into the second round. and if they win the flag next year you might get 2 x 20's picks. It's hard though because no contender is going to want to give up any players either, so i mean they can only offer what they've got. I can't see how this deal possibly gets done to the Crows without a third team becoming involved.

AFL Trade Radio 2025
I must admit i don't mind listening to this and doing a little bit of work, some of it is absolute rubbish, but it's not the worst background noise

Farewell Judd McVee
Judd is dead to me. Luckily i lack conviction and will forgive him as soon as he re-signs. but until then. DEAD TO ME..

Fantastic news. Best path back to finals is a fully fit and firing Petracca and Oliver so lets see Steven King earn his money!

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Trac is a whole lot more like Dusty than he is danger but lazy player comparisons seem to group all powerful mids together. Danger is much more in the Nat Fyfe, James Hird, Nathan Buckley mould, big powerful and strong overhead

I think you'll find this has a lot more to do with the contract on offer than the midfield time, he'd get that at any of the 4 options, but in this case he's going to get a significant payrise by going to the Saints. I am really happy for Melbourne to bow out of this race rather than overpaying, Flanders is a good young player but if the talk about what is being offered to him is even remotely true it's not someone we're any chance of getting.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Trac the poor guy very nearly died last year, lost all confidence in his body and had to build it up again, simply running out on a field again of any kind takes amazing courage and not only did he play again, he finished 2nd in the Bluey and polled 16 brownlow votes. I think Trac deserves a massive congratulations for what is a pretty extraordinary effort. I hope he stays in the Red and Blue in 2026 but if he chooses to move on, he will do so as a premiership hero deserving our respect.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
King himself has publicly declared finals is the aim for 2026, the fastest path to get back to finals is to get Petracca and Oliver playing their best footy next year so i have no doubt he'd be really keen for both to stay.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
They also won't want to give up players and weaken their team. they'll want to do this exclusively from the draft pool but the picks just aren't good enough, Only way i can see it happening is with a third team becoming involved. I also don't know if there is much incentive for the Suns to trade Flanders outside a deal for Petracca or Curnow given i believe he's also contracted. if i was them i'd be holding him if they don't get someone who makes their team better, they don't need draft picks

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I think it would be an outrageous situation if we traded Trac AND paid some of his salary, i don't think any supporters thinking that's going to happen are valuing him correctly. we're more likely to accept slight unders from a trade perspective than we are to accept a deal where we're paying him to not play here. I think it's a false reading of the motivations to move him on, we don't need to trade Petracca, but he significantly elevates the premiership hopes of the Crows or Suns
