  1. This is genuinely insane. What's going on with Clarry that we're suddenly this desperate to get rid of him? How is the media getting hold of this? WTF
  2. I would bet my left arm the club hasn't leaked this and it's Clarries manager. We don't know the outcome of the meeting, Clayton is contracted and could decide to stay regardless of what we say. I suspect we're going to set the bar pretty high for him, perhaps not even guarantee his spot in the AFL team and make him earn it, and his manager is doing his job by putting the industry on notice he might need to move a multi million dollar player on short notice.
  3. Correct. the specific intel seems to be King has Called Clarry and his manager to a meeting and "all things are on the table" and Clarry might not like what's said. Lets say the club lays down the law to Clarry, and if he doesn't agree to all of their expectations he'll be asked to move on, i think that's a very appropriate approach from a new coach to someone like Clarry.
  4. Mate, they care about clicks and that's about it. every year people like Caro and Sam McClure run with stories that end up being shot down almost immediately. Their employers want engagements, they're in the entertainment industry, not the truth industry. Yes some have great records in terms of getting things right, but it's not a priority, mistakes aren't a big deal so they run with stories that aren't verified routinely
  5. if King says to him, if you stay you'll be in the VFL maybe it does prompt him to have a look. I hope he stays regardless.
  6. This leak is almost certainly Claytons manager letting the market know because he's likely going to have to scramble to find a new home and it prepares the market for Clarrys presence when it wasn't previously expected. It's worth noting Clarry is contracted and can just decide to stay and back himself in.
  7. If he's desperate to stay at the MFC, thinks that's the best thing for his welfare as that's where he's support network is set up given how fragile he has been it would be significantly more irresponsible to surround him with change, uncertainty and doubt all for the sake of money. The money is worth zero if his health and mental health collapse again.
  8. Would Clarry re-negotiate his deal? I reckon we'd change our tone pretty quick if Clarry took a 50% pay cut
  9. Posturing do you reckon Daz? idk that sounds to me like the club is expecting him to be there next year because noone meets the demands?
  10. Anyone got a link to the interview? i'd love to have a listen
  11. Really happy about this! He’s going to teach the young talls a lot and be another on field coach
  12. Can’t wait to see the big rooster with a new fast ball movement game plan and 1v1 looks inside 50 Big break out year incoming
  13. The media still seem to be discussing this through the prism of “what’s fair” rather than “what Melbourne can justify letting trac to for” We’d have a massive egg on our Face if we let trac go for an average pick in an average draft.
  14. Player related but I feel like jack billing’s would be a great target for them for the VFL. Lots of experience and character
  15. I mean realistically she would have to move interstate as well so it’s fair enough that it’s a joint decision, but I agree with you that it’s a bit unusual, just not something you usually see with this stuff
  16. I’m amazed that Essendon and Carlton are even considering trading those guys! If they even are! It’s bloody hard to tell. i get it with us and trac but Merrett and curnow would be absolutely nuts to trade unless they got an outrageous deal
  17. They might well be looking at a few surprises especially with a weak draft pool, but I suspect they look far and wide every year anyways so it’s hard to know how much it means. I’m keen to see what our forwards can do with a new game plan and faster ball movement.
  18. I feel like the suns should be a fairly obvious choice. Their talent on paper is just ridiculous and Trac wouldn’t actually need to be a superstar for them to win a flag next year and beyond. I feel like the crows need him to be at his absolute best to get value where as the suns he’s more of the icing on the cake.
  19. I get the idea, he’d be great but I feel like the suns are more likely to give us Ben king than Humphrey and even that isn’t very likely. I don’t think we should accept just anything in a deal but if we aren’t going to accept something realistic we are better off just telling him he’s staying now imo.
  20. Man I love salo! Ripping bloke and a great Melbourne person. I have a feeling Steven king will slightly change his role
  21. I thought lamb spoke really well. He’s on a hiding to nothing in a lot of ways because we aren’t the most attractive we’ve ever been so he probably cops it if we don’t sign anyone, and we probably don’t have great options so if he does sign 1-2 of them and they’re busts he probably cops it as well.
  22. I think you're right, i wonder if 23, the Spargo compensation and maybe later selections can get us closer points wise. I know the MFC would like the optics of the 2 top 10 picks thing, that's easier to sell to the members and sponsors than pick 15 or whatever the Crom have.
  23. any chance Trac and 23 could get 6 and 7 back from the Suns? maybe we have to add little pieces to it, but 2 more top 10 prospects into our young list would be exciting!
