  1. I would be demading Flanders and pick 6 or keeping Petracca. we don't need to give away one of our best players, who is contracted for a pick 13 that'll be pushed into the 20's and a pretty good young player. that's just not how this works. same thing with the Crows, they can offer us 2 first round picks, but this years is going to be a pick around 20, and next years if they win the flag would be 18. those two picks are a fair way off the mark.
  2. I am neither here nor there on Henderson staying on, i probably think this is a direct result of Spargo leaving as to not completely wipe out our small forward depth though.
  3. I really don't understand why the Tassie team couldn't be based out of one of the existing stadiums until the new stadium can be figured out. It feels like the AFL quietly don't want the Tassie team to go ahead, but they also want the failure not to be their fault so they're making the goal posts just out of reach so that they can say, we tried.
  4. All roads seem to lead to BM joining us in the red and blue next year, including the Pies seemingly expecting this outcome now. Regardless what you think of this decision from the club there is no doubt he brings experience and leadership
  5. I am getting this close to calling Judd a poo poo head. tell him to announce itttttttttttt
  6. imagine Trac getting consistent 1v1s in the forward half of the ground, he could legitimately win the brownlow next year. Even Kozzie and Fritsch, if they're given the ball with better service i think we can really become quite damaging quite quickly
  7. If i were Steven King, i'd want Christian Petracca in my team. He just needs to sit him down, look him in the eye and ask if he's fully prepared to commit again to the Melbourne footy club, if he's not you say "We'll do our best to find a suitable trade if someone offers us something that appeals"
  8. I know i am getting in early, but i wanted to get out there early that i feel strong the number 9 that Charlie Spargo will be vacating should go to Harvey Langford.
  9. It's a stepping stone rather than ripping the bandaid off, i am certain last touch is where we will end up, rightly or wrongly. But these are the issues a head of strategy specifically needs to deal with, what rule changes are confirmed, what's likely beyond that and making sure our game plan and list are set up with the best chance for success within that. I would hazard an educated guess that the Saints are comfortable with their huge dollar pursuit of TDK because they can see where that rule is heading and believe they'll get a huge advantage out of it
  10. The big one for whoever we hire is what does it mean for Max Gawn if a last touch rule is implemented, this is going to significantly change his role with no more boundary throw ins!
  11. He’s on a shocking contract compared to his actual output as a player.
  12. And yet from our perspective we got the exact candidate we wanted and we are very happy. But that doesn’t get as many clicks
  13. I like the idea of bringing in Michoek as sort of a playing coach to teach Van Rooyen, Petty and Jefferson and Kentfield forward craft, and maybe Melksham becomes a super sub type who comes on late in the games to give us something with his experience, but is a valuable coach on the bench for the other 3/4
  14. They absolutely do and i'd argue they're a better chance of a flag in the next 2-3 years than the Crom. I get why Trac might like the Crom, bigger crowds, profile, Melbourne connections in Burgo, ANB and should be a finals team but the Suns have picks 6, 13, 17 in this years draft, plus their future picks, plus Flanders that we're keen on
  15. Victoria Park Dentistry?
  16. What do the Crows even have to offer us that would appeal? assuming they don't want to give us a key forward, i really just don't see it. Picks that'll get pushed into the second round by the Academies aren't going to appeal.
  17. What's the name of the Collingwood forum? maybe we can infiltrate it and destroy them from within!
  18. Good think Trac is contracted, pony up or F off i say
  19. If he's invested and wants to stay at Melbourne, he or his manager could say that today, literally right now via any format they choose and end the talk. Letting trade stories about your desire to leave fester and saying nothing shows there is truth to it, Trac is about the most active on social media player in AFL history, there is close to zero chance he isn't aware of all of this.
  20. Correct. they ran a narrative that everything is leaking out of Melbourne and it's Buckleys job to lose and a boat race Plot twist, we chose Steven King, the CEO said Steven King was chosen outright, it didn't in any way, shape or form leak and the media have egg on their face. The whole idea we asked Buckley what he'd say if we offered him the job is confirmation we wanted him looks silly when you watch the presser from yesterday and see we asked Steven King the same question. It shows we really wanted a coach who desperately wanted the job
  21. Probably we would have to pay a little bit either way, i don't think we're going to get a high end trade return and clear the books totally.
  22. Pick 6, the Suns 2026 First round pick and Sam Flanders for Christian Petracca and pick 23 feels like a win-win, Trac helps the Suns win now, Dees add 3 good young players to the already exciting young core and strengthen our draft hand significantly
  23. At first Bucks was unsure about if he wanted to coach, then he found Hypothetical Tasmania more attractive than Melbourne anyway. It's philosophically inconsistent. He's saying he didn't even know he wanted to coach but he applied and went through the process for a less than ideal option anyways? Here is the reality, Bucks wanted the Melbourne job, Steven King is who we wanted, this takes nothing away from anyone involved in the process, and he's trying to walk away without losing any of the shine he has as a prospect. If he was more attracted to Tasmania, he wouldn't have wasted our time, if he didn't really want to coach he wouldn't have wasted out time.
  24. Isn’t it funny. They guessed Nathan Buckley, they were wrong and instead of admitting that the process itself has to be rotten. We interviewed and chose Steven king, we are happy so beyond that who cares?
  25. Settle guys. He’s saving face. Nathan Buckley wasn’t our preferred candidate, Steven king was. If we really wanted Nathan Buckley we would have waited for him. We are waiting for Geelongs campaign to end for Steven king anyway so little difference
