Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Maynard is beyond forgiveness
-
Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
As of right now neither player has requested a trade and the new coach wants them to stay so I’d be pretty shocked if they aren’t sees round 1 next year

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
The idea we didn’t want to wait for Buckley is so silly. King is finishing off with the cats so he may not officially start until after the grand final anyway so timeline is no different

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
I can’t work out who to tip tonight Brisbane’s experience and top end talent vs the suns elite young talent, health and stability but inexperience

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Did yze continue with us after taking the tigers job? I can’t remember
-
Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
Geez he was having none of it was he? I love that he confirmed Steven King won the job and Buckley didn’t.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Craig McRae took a worse pies list from the same position to a 1 point loss in a prelim in year 1. we shouldn’t put a limit on anything we can do (granted they had Nick daicos come in) but we’ve got some really high end young players too.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
he’s still absolutely jacked! Might have to slot him in at full forward as a playing coach yet

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Don’t say “ur” Melbourne supporters are supposed to be cheese board, highly educated snobs.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
The crows are so disconnected. They’re very little chance of hanging on here imo. What a finals choke. From top spot to straight sets

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
The guy is legitimately suggesting we wanted Buckley more but didn’t ask him the question because he might say no. It’s nonsensical. We literally said and this is confirmed by Buckley “if we offered you the job would you take it” he hesitated and we went with Steven king. McClure is generally really average with his takes in my opinion but when what you’re saying doesn’t even make sense, you need to put your bias and ego aside and get back to following the facts now creating them in your own mind to suit your own narrative

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Buckley classy as expected. I genuinely believe we’ve genuinely chosen Steven king rather then being knocked back

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
If Tassie decide they want a premiership coach I reckon we could offer bucks an assistant coaching role. Maybe start him off as part time development and he can work his way up
-
Sam Flanders
I wonder if he might be able to get Dave swallow down to join his coaching panel as well potentially?
-
Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
“Hi guys, Steven king here, just trying to decide if I want this position, I’ll let you know in a month, gotta go Tassie are calling!” Oh wait that’s the other guy
-
Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Geez his smile is what we need! We have had a couple of years of do guys really wanna be here, do they wanna leave, does bucks actually wanna coach Melbourne! How good to see a bloke find out he’s coaching Melbourne and smile like it’s the best day of his life!

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I assume we will hold a presser at some stage for him?
-
Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Might motivate kalani to kick a few goals or the coach will break out the cobra Kai discipline

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
It sounds more to me like we decided Buckley wasn’t keen as much as he rejected us. Don’t want a senior coach who isn’t desperate for the gig. Nothing to do now but get behind Steven king, see what sort of team we can put around him and hope for a fun game plan and a bounce back next year
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Maybe we knocked Buckley back….
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Yep. Guessing they’d have taken the 3 standouts which sound like it was Buckley, Kelly and lade. If Buckley was the favourite he may have been offered the role and decline which is odd. Why go through all this only to say no?

Poll: Coaching Viewpoint
Conflict of interest largely. I mean if your long term best interests revolve around a different club being successful, naturally your bias kicks in and maybe you start trying to subtly recruit people. This can easily derail a club before a final. it’s just more simple and clean to cut the cord and the club be aware you’re applying so plans are in place.

Poll: Coaching Viewpoint
I think they should definitely be able to pursue any position they like inside or outside the football industry but if you take up a role as a senior coach of an opposition team your tenure at the current club ends the moment you accept that job.
