Stupid f***ing errors are hurting. O.Mac and Dawes in defense, and sh**house entries into our 50.
-
I also agree with faultydet, I would like to see the club go hard after the likes of Hurley and Hibberd or other free agents which shouldn't cost the club any picks in trade.
-
I'd have him in a heartbeat. Although like any newcomer he would need to prove himself and earn the respect of the club and players, learn how they conduct themselves and treat one another, and thus wouldn't slip straight into the leadership group. That aside, I think it's highly unlikely that he'll head our way anyway.

Selection panel - F***ed up again.
-
That's no excuse. Playing any kind of sport I despise playing alongside teammates that give in before the final siren goes. It creates bad habits, bad attitudes, and a lack of desire.
-
Fu**ing pathetic! If these players ever want to play finals let alone a Grand Final they need to learn how to play matches out rather than roll over and die when things get a little tough.
-
The selection panel didn't adapt. They would have known it was going to be wet and yet they opted to include at least six talls as opposed to the Syndey rich midfield.
-
I'd add Trac, Vince, Viney, Jones and possibly Watts. The rest a horrible, especiallyKennedy, Stretch, and Jetta who should be getting much more of it in these conditions. Also Dawes and Hogan have been very average up forward.
-
He was the same in the St. Kilda loss all those rounds ago.
-
He's so bloody slow as well! It's surprising.
-
Foolish kick from Tom across the face in this weather also. When kicks are hardly sticking all day, it was a stupid decision.
-
We have at least an extra two talls on the ground and are trying to run it the entire way. Understandably it's wet but if the selection committee opts to go tall, you'd think the game plan would involve a bit more kicking and trying to line up targets. Driving me nuts!
-
What do you get when Dawes goes up for a mark in the wet? A Sydney goal.
-
I'd take Hibberb, he's been phenominal for the Dons in the past. Also if he is available I presume we'll be one of the front runners considering he and Melksham are close mates as they're the two I ran into in Europe last year and of course Goodwin.

If rpfc had a dollar for every time I came to this thread, he'd be rich and I'd be broke (btw. well done as always). I'm often pondering what the list changes will be and I guess it ultimately comes down to who's available to us in the trade period and who wants to stay or explore. I know we need a minimum of three national draft selections and I presume we'll attempt to target at least two players via trade (e.g. Hurley and Prestia types). I presume the club will attempt to re-sign Garlett, the McDonald brothers, Kent, Watts, Jetta, and hopefully Trengove. Of the main list, I'm predicting Terlich (1), M. Jones (2), and Grimes (3) to be the first three to go and Newton (4) to get demoted to the rookies. Of the rookies I'm predicted Max King (1), White (2), and Michie (3) to lose their spot. Wagner has been great this year and deserves a promotion but I'm not sure on the room, I have a feeling the rules changed a couple years ago allowing a little more flexibility regarding the numbers of main listed players and rookies, can someone please confirm or inform me of this? Finally that fifth spot on the main list will likely come from one of Dawes, Pedersen, or Frost depending on that flexibility of spot numbers (mentioned above). Dawes will likely take a very large pay cut so we can try and secure Hogan so it will be interesting to see if he wants to stay. If Frost keeps up that defensive game he showed on QB I can't see him being demoted or delisted, and Pedersen usually challenges for Dawes' role so his time may be up if he can't re-take that position. Obviously these are my predictions and some players may want to explore their options elsewhere, and clearly I have excluded the additional complexities of direct trade options. Would like to know your predictions and who you think will have their heads on the chopping blocks at years end or who may be used as trade bait.
-
We're definitely not out of finals contention. We just need to play more often like we did in that second quarter of the QB clash, be sure to beat the teams below us, and take a few scalps above us. Then with a little luck, hopefully one of the current top 8 teams dwindles off a little and loses form.

I find it amusing how the commentators find Howe's move down back as a "masterstroke". Looking at his stats one would think he's improved going from an average of 10 disposals to 18. What they fail to mention is how many kick outs and freebies he now gets. Was great to get another one up on him, and I'm glad the club didn't entice his inflated price tag.

Watts is our most important signing
ignition. replied to Fitz Fitzpatrick's topic in Melbourne Demons
T. McDonald, Jetta, and Trengove (yes Trengove) are more important. McDonald's and Jetta's ability to shut down players is essential. If the club is able to acquire a second tall and ready to go defender (like Hurley) Tom's game should go to another level. Without either the team would have immense trouble controlling opposition forwards of both tall and small. Trengove: With the way the game is going, it's suggested that there will be a smaller interchange cap which will tire players quicker and slow down games. Trengove has stated in a recent interview that he likes this concept as it's more suited to his style (he's an endurance machine). Early in his career his talent and potential were incredibly exciting, I considered him more exiting than I do now for Brayshaw, but after suffering an injury and forcefully playing through it he began to slow (literally), stop developing, and almost have his career cut short. Now that he's on the mends I think he still has plenty to offer, and could possibly thrive with the interchange cap. His upside vastly outweighs his current market value and subsequent trade options. As for Watts, he does have a lovely kick for goal and does find himself in good position up forward, I just wish he crashed the contest a little more. Without a doubt I would like to see him re-signed it just depends on the price he's asking. -
He did spend a bit of time under Bomber Thompson at the Dons. I believe the offensive tactics the club is trying to employ more-so resembles those of the Thompson/ Geelong era (a lot of run and use of the handball).
-
I heard the players refer to him as "Jetts" and number of times, I would go with that.
-
Considering both Tom and Oscar are out of contract at the end of this year I can only presume Tom won't want to blindly jump into re-signing based on loyalty until he sees his brother with an extension on the table. If not then (not saying he will) he may consider looking at his options from more of a "it's just business" perspective. I presume if his brother is offered an extension, which I hope he is based on his talent and potential, Tom will be more likely to re-sign than explore elsewhere.
-
OUT: Michie, Hunt, O. Mac IN: Tyson, Jetta, Pedersen. Would like to see Trengove back in but don't know who's position he'll take.
-
Yes as we've pointed out previously some of these include Sam Blease, Leigh Adams, Matt Maguire, and Justine Clarke in 2016 (as 3Dee reminded us of). Below is Clarke's departing message.

Jarryd Roughead's return to health, and football - update
ignition. replied to TeamPlayedFine39's topic in Melbourne Demons
Horrible news. I wish him all the best in his fight. -
Considering that he signed in March 2012, and that WorkSafe imposed their heaviest sanctions against the club, and that he was banned for 12 months. I have no doubt he or lawyers could argue that his contract is void, and if he is enticing a move at years end, he and his manager will be ready for a pre-organised exit.
