The fact that 100 career goals is mythical to Demons fans shows how woeful the cub has been as far as individual accomplishments and career goal tallies. We have been around over 100 years, yet in five or so years from now both of the new clubs, GWS and GOld Coast, will each have a player (Cameron and Lynch) that will eclipse our leading goalkicker (Neitz). But its not just goals we are terrible at - Nathan Jones average of 28.05 disposals in 2016 was the highest season average in MFC history. Jack Vineys 26.1 in 2016 was the 4th highest in MFC history. These are embarasingly low numbers for club records. Why do we suck so badly statistically?

Yup, player management will be the key for that stretch. Luckily we have depth now and should be able to withstand it. And having Hogan, Gawn and Spencer all back will help big time. Particularly the two ruckmen freeing up Watts and Pedders to play roles they are more dangerous in, that are a lot less taxing on their bodies.

How about we get Goody, Hibberd and Melk to do some serious recruiting and get in Michael Hurleys ear. Talk about the perfect player to top off our potential premiership list. Problem is it would cost us something like our 1st rounder + Angus Brayshaw.

We will beat Sydney. Our midfield is the heir apparent to their once dominant big bodied, contested ball winning machine. They arent the Swans of past years either. Also Hogan and Gawn will have some games under their belt by the time we play them.

Reckon Hogan will play, gut feel. Gawn surely not, most likely return for him looks like the game vs West Coast. In - Hogan, Salem Out - O McDonald, Bugg Bugg somewhat unlucky, but he has 10-12 clear opportunities to kick a goal the last two weeks and has come up empty every time.

Surely he would be into double digit Brownlow votes after 10 rounds.

The remainder of the draw looks pretty good to me. The only game that I really worry about is vs GWS, but its at a neutral ground so that helps. We have the Crows again, and thats also at a neutral venue in Darwin. Finals are there if we want it.

GWS list depth is as unbelievable as suspected. Their injury list is brutal and they just keep winning.

Can now see why Essendope fans were spewing when they lost him. Fingers crossed the kid they took with the pick we traded them is a dud.

Heres our post-bye fixture.. a couple of classic 'eight point games' in there... notably vs Port at the G, and Saints at the G. The Friday night game vs the Swans seems to stick out as a huge one too, though all games are equally as important. Jake Melksham is not getting enough credit for his game. In fact he was one of the few players putting up any resistance when we were playing like garbage in the first half. He played in a new role and excelled to finished with 32 disposals, 5 tackles and 7 inside 50's.

If the AA selectors are serious, Garlett should be in the opposite pocket to Eddie Betts. Not only has Garlett kicked 25 goals already but his pressure and tackling have been elite all season. But I am sure they will put a FF or CHF in the pocket just cos they kicked a few more goals than Jeffy or play for a more popular team.

Freo dont deserve to be anywhere near the 8. Their percentage is a pitiful and they have just been very lucky. No way are they holding their spot.

Hes on track for around 30 goals, what a great debut season hes having.
