That's one way of looking at it, and Walker's not unredeemable. But you could also argue that it's not the job of our Indigenous players (or any Indigenous people) to have to do that education work. This is only my opinion, so it doesn't count for much, but I would be disappointed if the footy club, who has done so much good work in this area, was willing to overlook Walker's indiscretions.

On the fitness point - I keep forgetting that we were back to pre-season training a month later than the previous season. That has to have an impact.

The problem is it's either feast or famine - there's no grey. Our forward line is either amazing or it doesnt work at all (See the Queen's Birthday game). Both types of conversion are an issue; inside 50>marks and set shots>goals. There was that nightmare moment in the Q3 of the grand final, Bont had kicked that goal and we were 5.10 and I thought 'we've been horribly inaccurate all year and it's about to bite us'. Thank god the tide turned.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but the umpiring was decent. They let the play go and didn't pay too many technical/soft stuff. Yes there were some decisions missed and I was spewing on the three frees paid to Daniher but overall, that's the umpiring we want.

Some random comments in no order Fremantle were very good. They strangled us. Jackson. has a lot to learn in the way of ruck craft. Thought he was shown up last week by the North combo & today he was horrible. Think we all, me included, forget how young he is. Key forwards. Weid & Brown were both horrible but Brown has the runs on the board. Weid does not impose himself on the contest and after today I officially say he won’t make it. Missing three key players across three lines cooked us (Tmac, Langdon, May). Langdon is just as important as May. Rivers & Bowey both made inexperienced errors - another reminder that really, they’re just starting out. not defending Dunstan game, it’s wasn’t good, but I’m amazed at the ppl who are shocked at his disposal.
