  1. What’s the wurundjeri word for stagnant pond? We’re currently playing like one so should rename ourselves after that.
  2. Have said this before but has anyone ever seen Charlie Curnow and James from Derry Girls in the same room?
  3. Hahaha - I'm the same, always hated him as a player, the king of snipers, so his coaching achievements have always been grudgingly admired. His late 90s Kath & Kim haircut always gave me a laugh though.
  4. Don’t know about the rest of you but I took the close loss well. Called the dancing Ken Hinkley a Karmichael Hunt then threw the TV remote 🤣🤣🤣 In the heat of the loss I was filthy about the umpiring but the reality is we played only a qtr & a bit of decent footy. Can’t expect to win over there doing that. Our forward line remains yuck. Sadly Chandler, Pickett, Spargo & ANB all had bad nights, and were not sighted at the fall of the ball. Not sure how you can have the cattle we do but get smashed in clearances…something isn’t working.
  5. We've had some good wins but against middle of the road opposition. When the forward line doesnt work it looks horrible. Of course should we win I'll be the first one on here praising our beautifully functioning forward line 😁
  6. Going to be that person - my MFC vibes tell me we're going to lose this one. Our form isn't great and the forward line is crunchy at best.
  7. Agree, Matt Whelan has been a really important part of the footy clubs growth, nice to see him in the video
  8. As we’re Narrm for the next few rounds can we change the cheer squad to be the Barmy Narrmy? 😁
  9. What I struggle with - which fans are these “optics” appealing to? Cause all us nuffies are spewing that JVR has been offered a suspension for competing the footy. if the AFL is concerned about parents not wanting their kids to get hit in the head then we’ve got a problem. It’s a contact sport, you can’t insure against accidents.

There were times in yesterdays coverage where the footy wasn’t in-shot so I took the intermittent replays as part of the overall [censored]-ness of the broadcast. Clearly the AFL don’t put any quality standard conditions into the broadcast rights contracts because what’s being dished up by Fox for the 2nd & 3rd tiers games is complete trash. What did annoy me was the ridiculous discussion around the JVR contest. It was clumsy and a free kick was rightly paid. That the commentary team then spent the injury time looking for controversy was extremely irritating. The media & their need to inflate stories is what I find exhausting about footy.
  11. Someone check on Kane Cornes
  12. Comben went down right in front of us. What I thought was the sound of the contest wasn’t 😬 not a pretty sight This may be hyper critical but it felt like the North staff took ages to recognise how injured he was and call for the stretcher. Here’s to his recovery.
  13. Yelling at each other is May & Lever’s love language
  14. Not really footy related but when I saw her it reminded me. Last week when Abbie Holmes was on my Dad asked what were the marks across her face. I had to explain it was make up 😂

That’s so kind of you - the kid would’ve loved the footy.

I’m a sook and on big games like last night I can’t handle being totally surrounded by opposition fans in the AFL members. But next week against North will be paradise 😁

I normally sit in the AFL members but tonight was sitting on the ground level of the Olympic stand and it was actioned packed At 3/4 several supporters near me stood up to yell at the Richmond clowns in the next bay. There were some swear words dropped but in the scheme of footy crowds it was very tame. Late primary school age kid sitting in my row starts crying from the rowdiness & their dad gets into a verbal with the yelling supporters. Proceeds to threaten the guy which only made the kid cry more. next week I’m going back to the AFL members where no one cares what happens 😁
  18. Whatever they are they stress me out
  19. This is repeating the hundreds of other comments but Dogga has a lot of developing to do. Fremantle are paying a hell of a lot for potential.
  20. My Dad was told by his grandmother that he wasn't allowed to have Big Bob Johnson as a favourite player as Big Bob was Catholic!
  21. Grew up & live in the West and you get the Bulldogs shoved down your throat (which is why I can't stand them). Nothing worse than going to the Western Oval and being surrounded by them 😁.
  22. Saying ludicrous things about the team and/or players is part of the experience of watching. All you can do is look back and laugh.
  23. It was a great win but the 50 point margin makes it looks easier than it was. Sydney are a tough side & got our lead back to 6 points - was a great effort to push away from them and take a big win. Very happy with Grundy’s efforts today. And Rivers was very strong, good to see.
  24. The one Viney kick that hit a target was his last of the day - and it was on his right foot 😂
  25. Hahahaha, I called him a lizard at some point today
