The photo was circa 1987/88, in the old red seats area. My Dad had a mate who was a sports photographer and he yelled up from the boundary for us to stand up and take a photo. I was mortified because the entire section turned around to stare at us. Which is the reason for the grumpy face 😁

I visited the Sports Museum today. Had to queue for about 40minutes to get the photo but it was well worth it. We went full footy nuff 😂

Who remembers the scene in Trainspotting where Begbie lectures Renton about using heroin? ‘No wey would I poison my body with that [censored]. All they [censored] chemicals’ (while smashing a scotch & sucking on a dury). That’s what these anti-vax types sound like when they say they don’t trust what’s in the vaccine.

Burgess reveals secret to Dees' incredible injury-free run
deegirl replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jofra Archer is a good example of how the small workload/short spells can really backfire. He wasn't used to big workloads and when he got loaded up in tests he broke down. -
As Tommy Hafey would say - he's a good boy

Halfway through the last quarter I actually said "I reckon Hibberd will retire after this". I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but happy for him to sign on for another year.

Trac was in full berserker mode after that goal 😂

You guys are only listing players? I have apologise to the entire list, coaching staff & admin 😂 Harmes - called him the dumbest footballer alive (on multiple occasions) Trac - season 2019 I was worried he'd be another Colin Sylvia/Jacks Watts - lots of potential but no consistency Jackson - didn't bag him, but as he's so young expected his form to be up & down Viney - Extremely critical of his left-sidedness. And his form this season after he returned from injury (when he was in peak 'see ball, get ball' mode). Lever - circa 2019 I called him an expensive half-back flanker Spargo - called him a slow midget Brayshaw - questioned what the hell had happened to him since 2018 Clarry - seriously questioned his haircut choices Hibberd - thought he was done McDonald - thought he was done + questioned what the hell had happened to him since 2018. Put [censored] on his all meat diet. ANB - had him in the 'athlete but not a footballer' bucket Fritsch - criticised his set shot kicking...a lot Sparrow - just wasn't sure Pickett - given his tough start to the year I didn't expect him to hold his senior spot all season Brown - put [censored] on his veganism Goodwin - thought he didn't show enough intensity Richardson - questioned what the hell it was he did Stafford - when we'd been so inaccurate in 2020 i wondered why an ex-ruckman was our goal kicking coach (yes, I'm aware of the soft cap restrictions) Pert - catergosied him as a general [censored]...and i never liked him as a player 😁

Thanks @Robbie57!

Hi Demonlanders, Remember the badges with members names that MFC gave out to WA fans during the finals? I’m desperately trying to track down the badge with my last name as a Christmas gift for my father. Does anyone have any contacts in WA? I’m trying eBay too but thought I’d reach out to the hardcores first 😆

Success has been been fantastic but I seriously doubt anyone will forget the tough years. Season 2013 scarred me for life 😂

And Nev will be playing in their VFL side. A very good hire from them. All the best Nev, always a Demon.

How far off were we from a perfect 2021?
deegirl replied to Gawndy the Great's topic in Melbourne Demons
We were the best team all home & away season We were the best team of the finals To me, that's perfect -
Don't worry, circa 2019 I called Lever an expensive half back flanker. Shows what I know!

Trac, Claz & Dogga in the centre ruck in the third quater. Salem, Brown & Brayshaw. My review, incoherent? Yes. dud everyone play their role? Yes. The Mighty Dees. #LFG

This is a positive, it was the spirit of Norm Smith letting us know he's fired up for Saturday.

This. This 'hard done by' narrative is always given to them. That's why I can't stand the club or their supporters. You won a premiership in 2016, you ain't hard done by.
-
I'm over non-supporters trying tell me stuff about MFC. "1954 was the last time you won a premiership". Wrong. It was 1964. "You got smashed the last time you played in a grand final" Yes. I'm aware, I was there. Was there for 1988 too. And I'm not embarrassed to say I have zero sense of humour about Saturday. Once it's all done and over that'll be different but right now - it's deadly serious.
-
Jones walked so the rest of them could run.

I live in the western suburbs and hate Footscray by virtue of having them rammed down my throat. Never enjoyed the whole 'we're so hard-done-by' vibe of their supporters...but I am bitter & twisted 😁

Surely can’t be real. He’s used the correct ‘you’re’. Mitch feels like a ‘your’ bloke to me 😄

Can you not with the ‘rape them’

If I were a Brisbane supporter I would be spewing about that blocking free paid against McInerney at the centre bounce. He was basically penalised for using his ruck craft against a part time ruckman. It was an awful call.

Cannot believe I forgot the jerk-in-chief
