  1. I'll drop in again at the end of Q3 to see if it's worth turning on the TV. What a disappointing series of games this weekend
  2. Giants clawing their way back If they can be within 12 at half time we might have a game Yes Jesse !!
  3. Tend to agree Geelong would make an absolute fortune with dynamic pricing and their stadium deal. In reality it's the MCC who are stopping it with their indefensible finals lock up. A bit like F1 renewing Monaco GP until 2034
  4. I doubt it also GWS maximum support is 10k. Doubt that Hawks travelling support exceeds 5k As I recall GWS v Dogs in 2016 attracted 16k (I could be wrong)
  5. A knee [censored] reaction to the top 9 being decided at the mid season bye. Hell let's have a top 14. I'd prefer a big prizemoney Europa cup type comp open to teams outside the 8 at the mid season bye. This would allow the bottom teams to pick their best sides for that comp while the higher teams have to keep an eye on making the 8. A $2M prize to the winner (funded by a State Gov't such as WA in return for hosting the final)
  6. two easy ones went begging
  7. A pleasing crowd from looking at the TV. Perhaps 2k but probably around 1.5k
  8. Much... I go away and they kick four goals
  9. Another goal or two would be handy
  10. Socceroos are playing NZ in a friendly On 10 Drama
  11. VFL and VFLW will include a team from Tasmania next year. Games to be split between Hobart and Launceston with a possibility of a game in Penguin (the home of the Big Penguin). (Russell Robertson went to Penguin High School)
  12. Contract length.... I'd like two years but that probably wouldn't fly (perhaps 2 years with KPI's for an automatic third). Just hope we don't go four or five years. We always seem to give one or two years too many. For KPI's I think a finish above 12th place would be reasonable. What other KPI's would supporters want? Would you include soft KPI's as well as hard ones. Hard to express it but I'd like to see one about the team being good to watch.
  13. Got me thinking.... if we'd given Goodwin and Richardson a job as "membership ambassadors" for 2026 would their salary have been outside the soft cap. Can't be that easy
  14. Just out for lunch on the equator having a Sarawak laksa. A crow swooped down and knocked a bowl off the hawker stand. Definitely an omen Lunch was $10 for two including some kolo mee and drinks. Won't mention the temperature Go Crows
  15. Geelong have rewritten the book on key incentives outside the salary cap. Strange that Freo and more particularly West Coast haven't followed on. There's a lot of new money in the West. For all that the money paid to AFL "stars" is chicken feed compared to most sports
  16. McStay omitted and Cox in. Go Adelaide Would love to be a fly on the wall at the Adelaide oval observing the "friendly banter" between Crow's supporters and the Magpie clan
  17. The only reason you'd take on the job as coach of Tassie is that performance wise it's stress free for 3-5 years. Then you get out with $8-10M in your pocket. It's a development/list management role. If Buckley is serious about coaching now it's us or maybe Carlton next year. Then again perhaps he wants less stress. The MFC gig is no bed of roses that's for sure. No idea what he would pick up in the media but it's not mega bucks
  18. SoS has picked the Saints so perhaps we could pique the Doggie's interest. Perhaps even a second rounder. Time to make some hard decisions and this is on the easier end of the spectrum. Could use the money saved to increase payments to Trac and Oliver thus reducing the pressure of future years especially when the Brayshaw payments come back into the cap
  19. One of its problems is that the large space behind the goals (non train line end) is used for the ground maintenance tractors and big shed etc. This area is closed off on game day but cleared of the tractors etc it could accomodate 200-500 people. The Swinburne centre almost touches the ground fence. TBH it's probably not a goer for crowds moving forward. AFLW needs to get attendances right before it goes after TV audiences. In other words build the buzz. I can understand the expansion but now there's too much product for the demand. Perhaps they should have started with combo teams. Heretical to die hards but 18/19 teams is 8/9 too many
  20. As the season is now in the warmer months Vic Park could easily be the home ground for four teams with games being played during the day on a Saturday and Sunday. Shared between four teams it would attract funding. Developed to hold say 6-7k it would make the perfect venue to re-imagine a competition that attendance wise is losing its way. Having been to Punt Rd for a few VFL games it has very little room between the ground fence and the road for a lot of the ground
  21. It should be a permanent VFLW venue. Build facilities for say 8k and you have an inner city stadium well served by public transport. You could play day games on Saturday and Sunday. Make it a family venue/outing especially as the weather improves. Night games are not the future for AFLW if you want to grow attendances nor unfortunately is Casey
  22. Nice hard win. Next week Richmond at Casey in what looks like decent weather Shame about the injuries but who knows
  23. Do you seriously think any of the first 22 are on the chopping block. The six delistings were playing for Casey
  24. The FrankHauser oval Sounds like a place to ... Do the Time Warp Again
  25. Brings back an old saying... Great to play in one VFL flag but you never want to play in two
