  1. Thanks Binman While stats aren't everything they can be very useful in revealing a trend and/or comparative measure. I'm willing to cut Petty some slack simply because we tried for three odd years to turn him into a power forward. Let's see how he's going at the mid season bye at which time he will have had a decent period to merge with the rest of the backline. Going forward he's a key team member as we have little if anyone else to replace him.
  2. One way to judge a season is to measure the team's success against its immediate peers. In that mode our wins against the Saints and Carlton are great indicators. Two more teams that fit into our section are Essendon and North. I'm not sure where Port rank. Our two underlings are Eagles and Tigers. Win all and that's around ten wins (a big ask) but add in a few upsets like the Suns and you never know.
  3. Don't think I've ever seen Kentfield playing down back at Casey. Tom Fullarton was played down back for a few games and was showing glimpses but he was delisted
  4. I'm surprised about TMac's name coming up as a possible exclusion from Saturday's team. His form to me as a TV observer has been more than adequate. There's no one at Casey pushing up to replace him (Separate subject but we have too many tall forwards... time to try some in defence). Rivers returning is not a like for like as is of course Kentfield up forward. Am I missing something
  5. Are these picks only for Tasmania ? ie two picks each year In year one though how could you trade for a player as Tasmania doesn't enter until year 2. Would be interesting to see what strategies emerge. Personally I'm against drafting 17 year olds and would like to see the minimum age pushed to 19 (one year post schooling) but it won't happen
  6. Speaking of results we're equal second on points (who'd have thunk it five weeks ago)
  7. Good game Watched the first half and the last ten minutes. Both teams deserved to win but the draw was not to be. Cameron no longer dominant
  8. Definitely a decent crowd. Apparently a non ticketed game. Will be interesting to hear the feedback
  9. Time to break it open boys !!!
  10. An old fashioned shoot out where accuracy and the number of bullets determines the winner
  11. Freo is to Perth what Port is to Adelaide. They bring their rusted on supporter base plus the Contrarians but the State teams are Adelaide and West Coast. Have a look at the Reserved seat waiting lists for these two teams together with their share of the local media and you start to appreciate the relative importance. Just my opinion from spending a lot of time in Adelaide mainly
  12. The Eagles are way more important to the competition than the Suns and GWS combined. Freo don't really cut it.
  13. Caroline Wilson on 3AW There definitely is a recording Smith not "absolutely happy" (my words) with Guerra Richardson... you can guess
  14. Good to see Jefferson back
  15. A Gnostic Gospel perhaps
  16. It's a bit too early in the year for an interim coach but I suppose that because they have Simpson in the wings they might think about it. The game delivered the drama that the media thrives on. What a pity they don't play Essendon until June 7
  17. If Freo can beat the Crows in Adelaide tonight they are definitely in the mix
  18. Agree but those Bears are definitely back on track. Still wouldn't it be good for the game to have a Bears v Suns GF !! PS: Just installing everything on a new phone and it told me Demonland had an App which I've now installed. Had not realised that before. Thanks Andy and team for your wonderful work. Must be time for another donation drive ! Go Dees
  19. It is now perhaps a 60 plus point win Shame about no Daicos.. excuses
  20. Cerebral... Top marks
  21. Fritsch is a big loss Melksham wasn't moving freely in his last Casey game but he could be back
  22. So a 6:30pm local time start for the Brisbane match. It would be great to see 7:10pm starts in Melbourne. Interesting that they no longer publish the post halftime drop in ratings. Almost seems that 6-8 teams have already assumed the leadership section but perhaps there are still some twists to come.
  23. Do you not recall the 26 point zone of death in '23 OD. How many times did we get up by 26 points in the third quarter but lost. 36 points up is my comfort zone these days but even then...........
  24. So happy to see Sparrow have a good game. I always thought he had upside since 2021 but we rarely if ever saw it. May it be a long summer
  25. Easter Sunday morning at Cranbourne/Casey. Could break the all time low attendance record. Not that this is relevant anymore to the VFL. Seriously what was wrong with 1:30pm Saturday ??
