NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round
Wasn't a bad movie... Greyhound 1

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
It's all a question of rotations. With a fifth player on the bench can you afford one substantially on the bench (say 65%) and do adequate rotations with the remaining four. Heath really doesn't warrant a full game based on current form. Weather for next weekend is looking benign

Kayo digital membership
Was reported sporadically from a month ago but in the last 24 hours it's rife. What is unknown is the next step after you reset and keep sharing. At the very least they could do the Netflix thing and allow sharing with one or two others at a significantly discounted price. It can be avoided but it needs help from an IT aware person. It involves creating a tunnel between your router and that of your sharer. Not hard but beyond my ken.

Vale Dennis Cometti
I got it off youtube where there were multiple commentary versions of the video to the 2021 GF. They are special as each gives you a different look at that Golden hour. The commentary by Dennis and his friends was extra special.

Vale Dennis Cometti
What a commentator. His commentary of our 2021 flag is my go to commentary when re-watching that game. Commentators of his level are rare. There have been a few in cricket but in AFL he had no peer.

Harvey Langford Re-Signs Until 2029
Hard to fault that signing length wise. We don't know the salary but if he plays in 2026 like he did in 2025 it could be a bargain.

The State of the Salary Cap?
Our salary cap management post 2021 has been sadly lacking. When many were expecting a "premiership Discount" we ended up with a retention anchor. Sure you can look at each one and explain why but we lacked an overall strategic approach which will stymie us for the next five years. C'est la vie

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
I think you're right. That gamestyle does require great kicking skills but it also reduces the number of turnovers that you see in corridor play.

Tell me we couldn't be that dumb. Richmond knocked back Waverley as an interim site while they upgrade Punt Rd. Doesn't seem much interest from the umpires. It's not exactly a hot destination.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
I have always noticed that when two corridor teams play each other scores are often low due to turnovers and crowding of the corridor. Under Goodwin we remained a boundary team. It will be interesting to see if under the new coach we become a diagonal team a la Collingwood or a corridor team such as Adelaide.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
Sparrow ?? He should have the tank to remain goalside of NAS and keep a close check.

NON-MFC: 2026 Practice Matches Week 02
Haven't been watching but Essendon not doing much since half time. Meanwhile Saints try to do a North of the seventies and buy their way to the finals. Good luck to them but I have my doubts simply because while the run and gun game can win on any day it's a very long season

CASEY: Practice Match vs Richmond
And yet another. Not going to be a great year for Casey methinks

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
It's our most winnable game on paper out of the first five games IIRC

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
Yep those new stadiums they like to build are certainly well out into the boondocks. It's part of the model. Buy cheap industrial land and surround the arena with rent paying franchised restaurants. Our arenas missed the boat on the surrounding revenue. (Docklands and MCG). Thank heavens

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
The only thing keeping the car parking going on the grass in Yarra Park is the money that the council receives. Well overdue for car parking (except limited disabled spots) to be scrapped. You don't get any better than the MCG for public transport and when a game is on park and ride spaces are usually empty. $1 train fares would be welcome.
