unlikely given it's an interstate game against one of the irrelevant Melbourne four Time to try Kayo my friend

Flew through KLIA2 a few days ago.... very quiet Will probably cancel my trip to Italy and Greece next month. Not worried about the virus per se but the possibility of travel restrictions and the closure of tourist spots makes it not the best time to travel. Managed to pick up a bad cold on my last few days in India.... People sure look at you differently. Have now stocked up and will self isolate !! Plenty of toilet paper
-
The cash actually goes to the hosting team. In this case St Kilda. Will be interesting to see if Saints receive compensation. Loss of the million plus they get for playing in China would put a big hole in their revenue budget
-
But will there be enough toilet paper?

Premierships & Spoons Won in Leap Years
Diamond_Jim replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
did not know that.............. Revised Julian calendar The Revised Julian calendar adds an extra day to February in years that are multiples of four, except for years that are multiples of 100 that do not leave a remainder of 200 or 600 when divided by 900. This rule agrees with the rule for the Gregorian calendar until 2799. The first year that dates in the Revised Julian calendar will not agree with those in the Gregorian calendar will be 2800, because it will be a leap year in the Gregorian calendar but not in the Revised Julian calendar. This rule gives an average year length of 365.242222 days. This is a very good approximation to the mean tropical year, but because the vernal equinox year is slightly longer, the Revised Julian calendar for the time being does not do as good a job as the Gregorian calendar at keeping the vernal equinox on or close to March 21. -
The set shot goal kicking... would like to think it's an aberration but it happens too often. A game day poster said there was no wind(mind you I could not tell on the Delhi to Amritsar express). Would like to think that every kick is analyzed and that players are walked through it again. Especially those considered to have a degree of difficulty of less than 50%. Not sure what if anything can be done about the kicks from within play but all in all there was probably 5-6 goals missing from that score. Great to hear that Spargo and the other players had a good game. Mitch Brown surprises me. Weideman has a real competitor it seems.

He wont. It's not what Casey is designed for.

Wonder if the Saints will get their million plus ??
-
Agree but he can break lines and the zone. The coaches need to do the rest or he is gone. The obvious solution is to have a player running to space on the 70 metre line where Hunt can kick into. Think Heath Shaw... the rest of the team know what he will do from his runs and position accordingly. Does this work in the modern game.... not sure but as I said if he can't do that his use is limited

Goodwin: 'We were the worst side in the history of the game'

Wonderful story but the durian is not native to India. Let us talk further about similar fruits.... perhaps the bitter star fruit aka Carambola -
I'm sure they don't. Our relevancy is probably the lowest in Victoria. We can't even play the working class underdog card available to the other also rans that make up the ten Melbourne teams.
-
Agree but he's the type of player we need. One who can break the zone
-
In a perfect world the replacement for Frost is Hunt. Backmen such as Lever mark the ball give off to Hunt who breaks the zone by running 15-20 metres and delivers to players running onto the ball. Fast and damaging transition. Pity Hunt seems to have lost his mojo
-
Out of interest where do Collingwood go for closed sessions? Thanks
-
As others have said he may be on the cusp of delivering but so far not there. On the other hand the salary cap has to be paid and the three of Oliver Brayshaw and Petracca are what we are relying on. Getting him signed for another 3 years post 2020 makes sense.

Lions Trying to Avoid "Doing a Melbourne"
Diamond_Jim replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
how lovely is our press... "doing a Melbourne" and the "worst team ever" in one day. Our sponsors must be over the moon. -
must admit I thought the same but it has another meaning. What a wonderful learning resource DL is !!

Goodwin: 'We were the worst side in the history of the game'
Diamond_Jim replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes... I understand that but saying it in away designed to be publicised is just dumb (imo). It is also disrespectful to the players of that era. (Even if it's true) -

Talk about trashing the brand. Might be arguable but now it will be quoted back to us for years. There's six mediocre teams and we're one of them -
wow love it.... my new word........ Antinomy (Greek ἀντί, antí, "against, in opposition to", and νόμος, nómos, "law") refers to a real or apparent mutual incompatibility of two laws. It is a term used in logic and epistemology, particularly in the philosophy of Kant.

lucky you didn't see the first quarter !!
-
Would be interested to hear from the experts on the gameplan. Seemed that we played a more open forward line in the third quarter compared to the first. Perhaps we just went more direct. Lot of fumbled handballs going forward. If we can get the skill level up there it would be great. I noticed O Mac in the last few minutes. Was he on the ground for much of the game?

The airfares to the Alice are often the highest in Australia. I'd self book air and hotel ... the sooner the better. Often via Adelaide is a cheaper fare if the direct flights are heavily booked. For example the cheapest direct flight on Friday before the Sunday match is$400 on way.No direct flights Thursday but on Wednesday the direct flight is around $260 one way.

Before the anti Spargo brigade get going I thought that while he suffered three glaring skill errors that I can recall he was in the right place at the right time.Correct those skill errors and the Spargo we used to know is back. Langdon looks likely but his hairstyle makes him easy to spot.
