haven't for years

Running under the ball has been a Weid trait for years. Why it has not been coached out of him I don't know
-
A regulation win on the way just like.... (Hell I can't remember our last regulation win !!!)
-
Sam .... where have you been !!
-
I like the forward 50 count 3-0 GCS Shows we're not bombing it in ?

Adelaide season officially over. Will be interesting to see if the Adelaide media and followers give them a pass due to the bubble. Freo and WCE just scraping out of the Qld bubble. If we had not given them the win in Round 1 WC would be on very shaky ground. I can now see them winning the next 4 or 5 in Perth

Agree... the Essendon fiasco has skewed things and probably kept us alive an extra week. Minimal rain in Sydney at present and around 16 degrees. No excuses.
-
As they used to say... Does not compute... Perhaps less crowd = less security guards = less costs But who knows. Ticket transferring is not allowed as the pre booked seat etc is how they track attendees in case of......you know what
-
In their defence this season they have been using tighter camera angles to hide the crowd absence. Out of interest why are they sticking the crowd in spots they are rarely seen
-
As teams find finals impossible I think the drop in form will be greater than normal years. Another loss by Freo and Adelaide and they are done for the year. Big game for the Dees today
-
Anyone else notice Bruce's very bad choice of words when describing a passage of play by Isaac Quaynor. The "correction" quickly followed. Think Bert Newton and Muhammad Ali
-
Simple answer... Stream multiple camera angles and allow the viewer to switch. (Most TV's are big enough for 2 and 4 split screens if you like to watch that way.) Formula 1 has done it for years. Why is commentary sacrosanct... we still watch the ads if we have just the crowd noise The problem is FTA hanging onto a dying model Nowadays I watch via Kayo on around 30 minute delay at the start thus allowing me to skip breaks etc

Storm v Raiders at 7:30...... around 3/4 time if things are as usual going pear shaped
-
Have we ever lost to the Suns? This is a year of firsts
-
Surface looks very chopped up. Grass is a strange almost brown colour. MCG uses heat lamps to keep the grass growing in winter. I suspect they just rely on winter sun at the Showgrounds.

CEO's of football clubs are nothing like your usual CEO. Rightly so they have little if any say over the main driver of success. The football department. Pert will have his kpi's and if he's meeting them fine. Most people couldn't name more than two CEO's of other footy clubs
-
Do they publish crowd numbers this year. I believe the max crowd permitted for Giant stadium is 6,000. Should get that easily tonight (Pies v Hawks) I would think. Go Pies !! ?

One of my favourite shows...If you have not seen it try Halt and Catch Fire

GF location will be influenced by revenues, national exposure, permitted crowds and fan satisfaction not necessarily in that order. My take is that the AFL would love it to be in Sydney. Their worry would be the backlash from the SA and WA footballing organisations (media, fans, clubs etc). Adelaide FC not being a likely participant makes it a little easier as Port carries far less influence. They won't make the decision for about six weeks. Also they will be looking for stadium deals and State kickbacks as part of the decision. Home club advantages will play no part in the decision.
-
Have we ever won in Hobart? But at least you can watch the yachts on the Derwent when we go through our GF meltdown. PS just noticed that WA delayed phase 5 restrictions. Under Phase 5 you can fill the stadium
-
NSW assuming no break out could go to Phase 4 which would allow 20k or thereabouts.... Also remember the bulldozing NRL will be asking for unlimited crowds In Step 4, states and territories may allow all of these large venues to admit larger crowds, provided: There is no evidence of sustained community transmission The event is seated-access only, with ticketing They maintain physical distancing Allocate seats to enable appropriate physical distance (e.g. 1.5m) between individuals or groups do not know each other. People who know each other can sit together. They must be separated from other groups or people with physical distancing (e.g. 1.5m). They put all other required public health measures in place They address and manage all public health risks
-
Too logical for the AFL They will be seeing it as a money making activity. Need time to sell all the corporate packages. Your comment does raise where the lead up finals might be played. Hard to see Melbourne having 20k plus crowds this year.
-
Given it won't be the MCG my fan based vote is for Adelaide or Perth. (Query over Perth being too hot if the GF is played late October.) My feeling is that the AFL will make a corporate decision and play it at the SCG. (More dollars and greater exposure in a key market.) Cannot see Brisbane figuring in the outcome.

The tech whizzes say that because live sport has a high refresh rate the bandwidth required for 4k is at present untenable. It works for Netflix etc because they can buffer or similar. Hopefully they work out some new compression systems. On a positive note I have noticed that my pictures from kayo rarely if ever break up this year while last year it was a minor annoyance particularly with AFL.

From the NSW Govt website In Step 3, seated and ticketed events may take place with the following crowd limits: Stadiums with a capacity of up to 40,000 people may operate at 25% seating capacity. Stadiums with a capacity of greater than 40,000 people may not have more than 10,000 people.
