Season probably over now. Did it ever really start for us? Time to see if Weid can take us anywhere. Some decent signs but so many teams have passed us by.
-
could we do it ? or is this transmission as usual
-
That's not hard
-
This season was over after the mistakes made at selection in Round 2. To see Saints Port Brisbane go past us is so disappointing.
-
I posted last week that Sam needed to practice goalkicking.... seems he didn't
-
Their draw with the Tiges makes % largely irrelevant ... but nice to see them being thrashed

A friend of yours BBO ? Oxford Street London

oh no...they won ?

If you like history Moscow is great. Kazan sits on the Volga. Georgia is great. I forgot to mention that it is where wine originated (though next door Armenia says the same). Tbilisi and the mountains. Visas for Georgia are relatively easy for Westerners. IIRC you can stay for a year. Russia is more of a process.

I can recommend Russia.... Relatively inexpensive and everything you need. And then there's Georgia (most of Russia's best food is Georgian)

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2020-salary-cap-total-player-payments-ordinary-players-paid-too-much-jordan-lewis-leigh-montagna-fox-footy-podcast/news-story/df7bc15b771eee365f016ea1711dc29a Clubs should pay their top eight players – those that win or lose the game for you every week and play all the time – as much as they deserve. They are your stars. They deserve top dollar,” Montagna continued. “You then need to pay your next five or six young players – the ones that are going to be stars – because you need to keep them at your footy club. “Anyone in between, I know it sounds harsh, should be hard-balled.” Lewis added: “More clubs need to go down that path. Make it disproportionate. “Pay your top-end high and your bottom-end low. And if they want to leave, well so be it.” This article argues that fringe players especially those outside best 22 are overpaid. Brutal but worth a think

Interested in the views of others but it does not appear to be a great crowd for a clash between two top 8 teams in a city deprived of football. Entire stands empty if you look closely.

They were terrible ...they allowed us so much space and time. The GC game was a better test and revealed our skills under pressure as being scrappy but we got the job done. Mind you the modern game makes most teams look scrappy.. See GWS

North on its last legs for the season ...perhaps Down by 4 goals in the wet against Carlton at quarter time

Scratch Match: Carlton vs Melbourne, Richmond & Essendon

... but what happened Shades of the twilight zone Whatever but I'm sure Spartacus ruled supreme -

Clever grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

There's something NQR about the Giants. Skills are immense but not enough mongrel perhaps. Greene is elite as is Cameron but they have five plus more that ooze talent.

quietly contemplate taking the lid off after we beat Port.

I doubt it simply because it's too soon. One of the driving forces for the Cairns hub is money into the North. That will require two teams to relocate for over two weeks. Hard to make that happen in the present block of announced matches. BTW Bulldogs used to play in Cairns. Perhaps it could be them and the Suns. If so we could end up playing the Dogs in Cairns. All rather academic if we lose the next two games... so fingers crossed

Gold Coast forecast significantly amended from a few days ago. Now showing little rain on Sunday. Saturday still wet with up to 40mm

I sense that they are softening us all up to be able to pay Buddy out outside the salary cap.
-
WA just announced Phase 5 delayed until August 15 at least. Phase 5 is when full crowds are allowed at the football.Until then max crowd of 30k
