  1. Hibberd was not fanatastic today but I didn't see anything wrong with his game. If TMac is to come in could it be Melksham out or is it Jordon. May for Smith and Viney for Sparrow are almost certainties.
  2. never look at other votes before posting and do so after watching the replay. I'm surprised so few rated Oliver. Sure he missed two goals but it was his drive that got us going in the last half. Fritsch would have of course got the 6 votes if he had kicked his last 3 in the third quarter but sorry other than being amazed at the accuracy they didn't grab me. OTOH I can understand the Fritta love.
  3. 6. Oliver 5. Langdon 4. Fritsch 3.Petracca 2. Petty 1. Rivers Big apologies to Jackson and a few other players including ANB
  4. what is this we kick one... they kick one
  5. here we go again The Melbourne way
  6. Time to put the pedal down a la Brisbane yesterday. The last quarter for the last two matches haven't been stellar
  7. not exactly stamping our authority on this game. mmmmmm
  8. certainly seems that way
  9. ah.. the old "general soreness" injury TBH we should be fined or at least get a "please explain"
  10. Isn't that against the "emergency rules"
  11. To me we are going in a tall forward short but I assume the brains trust think that Gawn/Jackson will fill that hole. Perfect day for football and everything to play for. What could possibly go wrong this time.
  12. mmmmm could Brisbane unseat the Bulldogs (now that is doing a melbourne) percentage is a difficult thing because it requires a calculation of for and aginst but it strikes me that a win by more than 60 sets up a fascinating last round
  13. Because SA Health (remember you can catch covid from warm cardboard pizza boxes and flying balls) said that they were the rules !!
  14. thanks... my mind has turned to mush as usual at this time of the season and of course we could lose to Adelaide !! But never fear I'm not worried !!
  15. almost resigned to that or the Cats at Kardinia Park that's 2021
  16. so no Weideman on a dry MCG interesting also from the MFC website... The Demons are currently completing a 60-hour quarantine period, to allow Adelaide to fly-in and fly-out of Melbourne for the game.
  17. Could this be the AFL next season ? The (NFL) league’s head office sent a memo to teams stating that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the league’s current 18-week schedule due to a Covid outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will forfeit the game outright and will be credited with a loss. Here’s the kicker: players on both teams will not be paid for the lost contest, and the team responsible for the cancelled game – the one with the outbreak – will cover the finances for the side without the outbreak. They will also be subject to further discipline from the commissioner’s office if it’s determined the outbreak was due to a team or player not correctly adhering to the league’s Covid protocol. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/aug/13/nfl-unvaccinated-players-rules-kirk-cousins-lamar-jackson
  18. some glimmer of life in the Saints ?
  19. Suffice to say the second quarters of those two games were not to my liking
  20. If Saints beat Geelong... could be a very enjoyable day Almost Bradbury (esque)
  21. Yep we had some great under 19 sides and were always solid in the reserves. (Ah... David Cordner) It was showing up at the big dance where we lacked the skills.
  22. Agree but like the NRL we simply have too many teams in the one city. The next TV rights deal is due in 2-3 years which could deliver a seismic shift between the have and have not clubs. Around 3k apparently at today's Hawks v Dogs in Launceston according to ABC radio
  23. one year more I'm okay with that kind of list management. Second level back up. Baker might leave in search of greener pastures. Have no idea as to whether we will give M Brown another year but probably not. Majak is also nice insurance until a decision is made on Bradtke.
  24. How about this as a deal for North: All future North home games at Marvel and all away games (proceeds to North) in Tasmania. Strict rotation of away games between the other 17 clubs. North based in Melbourne with commitment to relocation of staff and training facility to Tasmania in seven years or sooner. North to play home based finals in Melbourne/Tasmania on an odd and even year basis.
  25. and the key leak.... Channel Seven reported on Thursday night that the Carter report did not recommend a start-up 19th team, saying there was no business case for expansion because it wouldn’t add television dollars, and that it would require relocation or a club deal to play home games in Tasmania.
