  1. o well that 2 game break was looking good for a while
  2. Noticed in the Gold Coast game that most if not all of the stadium was open and the crowd was naturally dispersed around the whole of the ground. Something the MCC could learn from
  3. phew........................
  4. we don't exactly spring out of the blocks these days
  5. Have mentally prepared myself for our first loss. Could easily come tonight. Viney and Tomlinson injured will test us. Will we kick enough goals etc Like the dreaded virus it's not so much daily numbers but rolling 3 week averages. Win 2 out of every 3 going forward and we finish the season at 16 wins. Is this what being a Hawks supporter used to be like? Very nice.
  6. nah this is the Swans .. "we can't win it game" so let's give Buddy a run ok.... but his form isn't what it was 2-4 years ago Time to think how you run off him etc
  7. "The Swans’ VFL team will not travel to Melbourne this weekend with their match against the Casey Demons scheduled for Sunday, May 9 to be postponed. The VFL match will be rescheduled and more information will be provided next week." just our luck will be interesting to see if it is re scheduled Perhaps when the Swans play in Melbourne and we can fit it in. I suspect they won't try too hard
  8. you're right I think we could get mid second for Tom Mac and the salary cut would cover Weideman. My concern is that the money men have not fully factored in L Jackson. His 2022 price could be very significant. TBH while I would be concerned if Weid left it wouldn't worry me greatly.
  9. o boy !! coaching by zoom.. why not
  10. Was going to post a few weeks back but it must be time for a bit of a whip around to help support the site. May need lots more bandwidth if the season goes as we hope it does. Perhaps even more if it goes the other way ?
  11. Jackson and Pickett are a marketers dream if you are going after the youngsters. Imagine a 15 minute TV program. This is where youtube provides an easy testing ground for an entrepreneurial programmer. And of course there's TikTok. I wonder to what extent the AFL has the players tied up. If it had to go through the AFL site it would be a dodo.
  12. Last contract his manager said he should be paid as a gun forward some silly dollars. Everyone laughed and he was signed. Wonder if his manager has floated this balloon as well.
  13. Must say I hadn't thought of this while reading the reports. Who really knows these days
  14. so that ends the Weid in story for this week anyway. Baker wasn't that bad but he could go. Harmes for Baker would not surprise and then perhaps Sparrow for Jones.
  15. My guess is that it has a base which could well be $900k and then a % of total player payments. Makes sense as no one really knows where the salary cap is going in the next 3-5 years. Not generally in favour of more than four years but this one makes sense.
  16. cost saving Rarely opened these days Maybe next year
  17. The next arranged blockbuster is the dreamtime game in June/July. Can't see them going to 100% by then but not impossible. Then it's the finals. QB will probably be around 50k given Collingwood's year. You just know there will be mini covid breakouts. How they are dealt with who knows. Got level 2A this weekend...very pleased.
  18. Dare I ask when was the last time we were on top for 2 consecutive weeks. 1988 (first half of season) springs to mind but not sure.
  19. Swans have a habit of upsetting our apple cart. The forced changes should take care of any complacency. A possibly damp night may not make it a good night for talls. 17 points in favour of the Dees
  20. 6. Fritsch 5. Pickett 4.Jackson 3. Oliver 2.Salem 1.Langdon
  21. the big difference this year is that our bottom 6 are performing unlike the musical chairs at selection that we have suffered so many times. Not sure that Oskar will make it but looking at our depth there's not too many like him size and build wise.
  22. Seven rounds in Undefeated and atop the ladder Sure.. it's not the endgame but hell it's nice Just enjoy.... It's a pity that supporters cannot experience the Northey days when everyone was welcome in the change rooms. Heady days and so much fun PS... cannot remember ladies being allowed but cannot think why not.
  23. suspect it was an AFL directive but ideally day before and light training on the playing oval.
  24. Sounds about right but Hunt played today Likely to be slightly wet next Saturday night
  25. No... unless Petty fails
