  1. Winning against the Dogs would be nice but the one we must win is against Brisbane. We need to keep the interstate teams below us to avoid the interstate final Today's covid outbreak in Vic could impact the Alice game on Friday week. Fingers crossed it doesn't.
  2. would have preferred the other way
  3. Just back from the delights of Casey Fields. Entry took a while due to scanning and lots of Swans supporters needing to pay. Sat near the goals and watched Ben Brown closely for 3 quarters. Hardly ever got near the ball. Forward delivery was almost non existent. I took special notice of his positioning and leading and simply none of it came off. Noticed that he likes to break back to goal a lot. In the final quarter I thought that as Casey got on top the midfield could have done more to bring Brown into play but many just blazed away at goal. It just wasn't his day. TBH the Casey players were eassily the equal of their more fancied AFL bretheren. Finally.. they had run out of egg and bacon rolls PS they seem to have fixed the drainage problems that the ground had in 2019
  4. B brown just can't get in the game Very hard to judge his form
  5. Lot of swans supporters here Lovely day Not a great game so far Interesting.. of our Casey back six only one is MFC Getting thin down back
  6. And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence
  7. so Melbourne to have that loss against a bottom team next two weeks will be interesting
  8. the all round game Trac has been getting so much kudos we can some times forget (but for a moment) what a player he can be
  9. It is a game of two halves
  10. well we love the close ones
  11. Brilliant...Thanks KC
  12. Teams and numbers if available would be great.
  13. open a separate topic thread and we can have a chat
  14. As I advance in years OD I become increasingly of the view that democracy is not for everyone. Imagine a football club truly run by members.. we could extend it to team selection. My complaint about football clubs and the AFL is the lack of transparency. Why for example is each club's deal with the AFL over the use of Docklands confidential. Same for the MCG.
  15. Very difficult to project VFL performances into AFL these days. Geelong seconds had 30 scoring shots to 13 last night winning 15:15 (105) to 7:6 (48) Sydney seconds are 2 and 2 with all games against AFL seconds sides so they might give a good match
  16. Strange selections Hopefully there's some logic but for those thinking Weid is a better bet than Brown.... Nah There's something more and I will leave it to each to paint with their own palette. Melksham for Chandler?.... I'm lost
  17. you have to wonder about the match preview when the writer has Nathan Jones as a likely inclusion.
  18. the AFL site even has a countdown clock. I thought there might be a game tonight but it's only for team selection Not sure about VFL
  19. I'll kick it off from the match preview on Big Footy: Getting this game called off due to Covid and labelled a draw may be our best chance at not losing... https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/face-off-adelaide-crows-vs-melbourne-demons.1268738/ PS Not many posts on Big Footy at present. Does anyone know of other forums?
  20. Preusmably we fly over Saturday morning. Not ideal but that's the way these days. If the same rule applies for the interstate clubs bar WA it must be hard for them.
  21. the usual deal is that the emergencies hit the next plane out (say 6pm) so they should be right to go at Casey. The sub.. who knows Even catching the 8am flight means you arrive Casey at around 11am Possible
  22. that's the beauty of Demonland. We haven't had a discussion of Ancient Greek terminology for some time. Eg Does Goodwin use the Socratic method? Perhaps 17th century poetry
  23. That's where the interesting discussion is. In this era of cyberhacking is blockchain the answer to computer security. The power useage to recovery ratio used in bitcoin mining is obviously an issue. As I understand it every so often (annually perhaps or is it value driven) another link is added to the blockchain thus making it harder (more expensive ) to mine.
