CASEY: RD 18 vs Sandringham
5 goals 8 behinds from quarter time is the only blemish

NON-MFC: Round 20
India have gone too far with their spinning pitches at home. Other than Bumrah their pace attack is pedestrian. With a billion people, over 40 States in their domestic comp and varying weather conditions you'd think they would have some up and coming pace bowlers

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Must admit that playing Petty forward baffles me. He's the obvious choice to replace May whose career is coming to an end. We have five or six tall forwards of varying ability. Play them in this irrelevant season. Laurie should also have got a bloc of games and resting/rotating Viney, Lagdon Langford etc. Bill might just click with the modern passing game but at least we would know. Jefferson should have got another week at AFL level to show form. Good luck to Oscar P in Belgium this weekend

NON-MFC: Round 20
Big weekend at Spa With rain forecast and both an F1 and Sprint race scheduled it could be a lottery in the World Driver Championship. (Go Oscar) After unexpectedly losing last week Melbourne Storm won a close one against the Roosters last night but it came at the cost of an injury to Storm's star player and winner of last years Dally M winner Jahrome Hughes. In breaking news: Melbourne Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes is expected to return to the field for the NRL finals now that scans on his left shoulder have revealed he does not need surgery. Hughes went down during Melbourne's 34-30 win over the Sydney Roosters on Thursday night, clutching his left arm after attempting to tackle Roosters captain James Tedesco. Melbourne Storm halfback Jahrome...Dally M winner avoids surgery as Storm receives NRL final...Melbourne Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes is expected to return to the field for the NRL finals, after scans on his left shoulder revealed he does not need surgery. And finally the Tour de France is in the mountains. After the Australian Ben O'Connors stage win last night there's not much time left for the contenders to catch race leader Tadej Pogacar

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Saints will flood our forward area preventing us from scoring and they will score on the rebound. In other words in soccer parlance they will park the bus. The usual counter is that we give them our forward 50 and play from the 75 metre line with low incisive entries. Bombing high balls is useless to say the least.

May to Tribunal
This is where the likes of Collingwood are smart. They roll out the "quacks" aka bio mechanic scientists etc but we put no evidence before the tribunal regarding an inability to change direction in the time available.

May to Tribunal
OH well My MFCSS is back big time again

May to Tribunal
Very strange I'm getting the feeling that the AFL are going through the motions and have no idea how to deal with this incident. In years to come I think they'll treat concussion like umpire contact. Cause a concussion even accidentally = 3 weeks. The outcome will be that players will be even more reluctant to make contact

Welcome to Demonland: Kalani White
Father/Sons and Academy players are all romantic but in an equalised competition with 30 players picked before you get to Round 2 of the draft it's now ridiculous. Collingwood have three top 3 picks and Brisbane two. In the absence of these rules Brisbane's first pick would have been much much lower

Absolute desperation bordering on embarrassing

CASEY: RD 18 vs Sandringham
The Sautner Newton Cup May the Juices flow PS: I wonder if the Saints had similar problems to those which we had with Sandringham. Suspect that it is a different era but another alignment comes to an end. Are we the only aligned VFL club left? Can't think of another off the top of my head

CASEY: Rd 17 vs Carlton VFL
Agree but the way they built the lead each quarter with strong connecting play is encouraging. Bonner is the one who interests me. He's a ball magnet in an era that demands quick connection. I'm surprised he wasn't given a chance by an AFL team in the mid season draft. For the remainder of the AFL season I'd be happy for Mentha to have a run in place of Sharp. Perhaps Jefferson is playing for his spot next week if Kentfield and AJ keep it up

Not a great result if you're a Doggies supporter

NON-MFC: Round 19
Been travelling to warmer climes so missed the chance to post the alternative sports this weekend. World wide it's a quiet week but with the Storm playing Manly tomorrow with a win putting them top of the ladder it's a game worth watching. The NRL ladder or table as it's called can be a hard one to decipher due to 17 teams and rolling byes. Eagles before tomorrow have played 18 games with Storm at 16. That's three less games with only 6 weeks or so to go. Madness !(Shades of AFL with 19 teams perhaps)

Game Plan changes
We've made massive changes. Now instead of kicking out long to Gawn we do a short kick to the pocket and then kick long to Gawn on the boundary. Seriously the only difference I've noticed is that we are trying to kick lower into the forward line. Cannot remember us being in the corridor once

Forward line fixed (for the time being)
If we are relying on Melksham we may have a problem with Father Time. Other than Turner I can't see anyone in the team or at Casey coming near filling his role
-
PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
They probably found out that we're loading

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
No reason to play May or Lever in these dying weeks. Play TMac and Howes. Time to put Petty down back. Melksham kicking goals worries me as it simply underscores our dysfunctional forward line. There's no one at Casey playing his role so who replaces him? Personally I'd rest Gawn as well but perhaps another game or two to guarantee him AA if that is thought to be important. Gameplan and preparing the list for a strong first half of 2026 is what it's about

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
We've hit the perfect goal to behind ratio 2:1

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Think we can put down the glasses but hopefully another few goals to come

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Long time since goals have numbered more than behinds
