Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Not excited by a retread coach most of whom will be happy to collect $1.2M a year for 3-4 years and leave us mid table. On the other hand it will calm the membership exodus and give us a short term media bump. As Dickens wrote in David Copperfield .... Tell MFC that Bucks is willing.... Hopefully I'm surprised but MFCSS runs deep in most of us

NON-MFC: Round 22
Could and probably should have been a lot worse for Essendon. Geelong are still a chip chip team in a corridor world

NON-MFC: Round 22
22-2 final score and for the moment top of the ladder (table) Storm are a consistently great team
-
NON-MFC: Round 22
Storm (2) play Broncos(6) at the Rectangular Stadium. (tonight 7:50pm) A big game in the context of the upcoming finals Panthers to continue their winning run after a bad start to the season

Welcome to Demonland: Kalani White
Pick 20 is effectively first round. Even 40 is bottom second I'd be amazed if a "project player" goes higher than third round unless some club wants to push us away from our second round choice so that they can get that player in the third round. My worry is that we dilute our second round choice with swaps to lesser picks in fear that someone will take him second round. We always seem to overpay one way or the other

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
Aka Schache, Billings etc You'd think we might strike it lucky once JC... if he makes it we can nickname him "Super Star"

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
Fair enough post. His last three or so games at Casey showed a strong uptrend though admittedly against middling opposition. Next season he and MacAdam will probably be vying for the same spot. Hopefully one of the two grabs it and makes it their own.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
It has been said. We have all heard the platitudes but it was never going to work. I didn't mind driving there as the traffic got progressively lighter as you got nearer. The other way was hell and I imagine it would be even worse after a hard session on the track

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Interesting and radical. I suspect it would require an exceptional two people without supreme ego. Another left field is Daisy Pearce

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Agree Not interested in a recycled coach. A new "cheap" coach on a short contract (longer with strong KPI's) surrounded by very good (well paid) assistants. It won't be an easy job. PS: I'd like to see a little more attention paid to the VFL coach

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
To trade Petracca or Oliver we would probably need to pay 20% of their salary simply to offload them. 35% gets a second rounder and 50% a first They and we are stuck with each other unless they agree to reduce their contracted salaries. Of course if they have a stellar year for MFC in 2026 the equation could change at the end of that year as it would with increases in the TPP cap and the length left on their contracts

Time to go Goody?
Agree My problem is that too much of the stadium is reserved with no clear indication as to where GA seats are available. A simple app these days or a digital board would fix that. When I enter the AFL members there's a board which tells me the unreserved areas that always includes half the reserve unless it's a very big game

CASEY: Rd 19 (bye)
Will be interesting to see how we approach a multi week finals series (if we get that far). The issue is the end date and the compulsory break to the start of pre season training. Then there's the added factor of the younger players starting earlier

NON-MFC: Round 21
GCS are an enigma They could do an MFC Win the lot or out in straight sets

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
True He started showing something in the last three or four matches. He has a strong body and is very solid in the marking department. Not sure he has the speed to make it longer term but worth a look

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
It's at this stage you'd be saying.. take off X Y and Z and rest them for next week. Nah... play em all to the end is my new mantra (Perhaps rest Max)

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
You do understand that we were loading in preparation for our GF against Collingwood in Round 23

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
On a more serious note 7 goals 1 behind this quarter

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
MFC the new pace maker in AFL comebacks

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Just thinking the same thing 45 points has replaced Clint Bizkit's 26 point zone of indecision

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Another behind .....

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
this is why Goodwin needs to go. Who gives a proverbial if we win or lose. It's the gameplan and ours doesn't work

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
When Fritsch is your equal highest possession winner you really have to worry
