  1. Will be interesting to see which of our gung ho premiers is the first to impose vaccinations as a precondition to various activities. Below is the list of activities limited from Oct 24 in British Columbia (Canada) to those who are double vaxed. Children under 12 are exempt but there are no religious exemptions. (Not sure how health exemptions are dealt with.) Between now and October 24 the restrictions still apply but only require one jab. indoor ticketed sporting events indoor concerts indoor theatre/dance/symphony events restaurants (indoor and patio dining) night clubs casinos movie theatres fitness centres/gyms (excluding youth recreational sport) businesses offering indoor high-intensity group exercise activities organized indoor events (e.g., weddings, parties, conferences, meetings, workshops) discretionary organized indoor group recreational classes and activities student housing on college and university campuses
  2. they are both almost 100% effective against death and hospitalisation. Here's an article where three double vaccinated Brits discuss getting covid. The big take away is that none went to hospital and for the hardest hit was a very bad cold. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/23/what-does-getting-covid-feel-like-for-the-fully-vaccinated
  3. Will be interesting to see which game after Port v Geelong gets the best crowd. Sydney v GWS may get as few as 5k unless they give out free tickets.
  4. 70 plus cases in Victoria today and over 800 in NSW. Add in the outbreak in NZ and it's not trending well. What chance a case in SA this week?
  5. Weather in Adelaide next Saturday nothing fantastic... note the winds Min 10 Max 16 Shower or two. Possible rainfall: 0 to 3 mm Chance of any rain: 50% http://www.bom.gov.au/images/ui/weather/rain_50.gif Adelaide area Partly cloudy. Medium (50%) chance of showers. Winds northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h turning westerly 25 to 35 km/h during the morning.
  6. That hasn't been highlighted. Can't see many in Adelaide coming out for an early neutral final. Do you remember the season when Port supporters stayed away from the first final in droves saying the cost was too high and that they would keep their money for the prelim.
  7. geelong playing it out and why not
  8. the good news is that we won't see geelong again before the prelim and it's our choice of venue. The smart coaching move here is to experiment but are we smart. By the way the code for experiment is to protect the team's pshyce from a thrashing
  9. quite happy to lose tonight but there are limits
  10. Lions have little chance of getting top 4 need 5 goals to nil
  11. Fascinating lesson in mathematics...
  12. not going all the Lions way at present. Could be an interesting second half If game stopped now Lions would be fourth https://www.liveladders.com/AFL/
  13. could you have scripted it.. It's a draw
  14. In his defence he may have been 3-4 metres out.
  15. or reports....
  16. The present rate of vaccines nationally is just under 3 jabs per second. The mythical 80% of over 16's will be reached at this rate in the last week of October. (likelihood is an increase in the daily rate will bring the goal in by a week or two). Of course you need to factor in the break between jabs and the two weeks post second jab for full efficacy. It's not just a simple function of jab rate but we're going well.
  17. the smart move is to lose tonight and most of us know it. I'm sure Geelong's coach does. (Assuming a Brisbane win).
  18. The trend is not our friend............
  19. Well there's only one game (possibly two) that interests the MFC purist. Will the Dogs win tonight and if they lose can Brisbane replace them in fourth spot. Dogs are firm favourites to win at Docklands but they have lost their last two against Essendon and Hawthorn (this one was a very solid loss). Dogs to lose on the basis that their forward line will not function correctly (Where's Stringer when you need him). Which sets up the Brisbane v Eagles match at the Gabba.
  20. No Weid in the emergencies or AVB
  21. very strange team to say the least with Jordon and to a lesser extent melksham out. Playing Viney and Sparrow in the same team is a very strange move
  22. Just for those who were wondering...what's next Two cases of Legionnaire's disease reported in Cranbourne. Apparently symptoms are very similar to Covid
  23. aaaah....... Day 15 I believe and except for the 8 days in which we weren't able to visit another house... Day 30. So it's now almost 40 days since visiting another person was permitted.
